Looking at cloudy skies overhead right now.
Temperatures are in the low 60s.
63 degrees in the city of Detroit right now.
58 in Muskegon, mid 60s in Chicago.
Approaching almost 70 degrees in Fort Wayne right now.
So it is very mild across the region.
We have a span of 40s to 80s. You have to head all
the way up to the northern Plains states to see the 40s
and then down to southern Ohio to see more so of the 80s in Cincinnati.
Now us breaking a record yesterday is not a normal thing.
And actually during the month of October, late October,
days where we see 80-degree days are really
not super common either. This year, last year,
and the year before that, we've managed
to pick up one day where we've seen 80-degree days past
the middle of October.
Now, in terms of rain, we could always use more of it. Yesterday,
we didn't pick up on much.
We're still at a surplus at about a half an inch or so. We're
starting to see that surplus dwindle, though,
with every dry day that passes. So again,
adding more to that is only a positive thing.
63 right now in the city, 58 in Lansing. Temperatures
overall again are much cooler than where we
were at this time yesterday but we're actually closer
to the seasonal high today than yesterday.
We're ranging anywhere between 18-20 degrees colder than
this time yesterday and that number is only going
to continue to grow as we get closer to the
afternoon. Now in terms of rain I think
our rain chances are well past us at this point. Shower
south of us into portions of Oklahoma and Texas.
We are going to stay quiet just holding on to a
lot of cloud cover today. High temps have already peaked
in the upper 60s we'll be in the mid 60s
this afternoon. And then after that,
our rain chances begin to increase late Thursday into
Friday. Now that's going to be our next chance
and our next system here that's going to impact
us in terms of rain, but also it's going
to cool us off just a little bit more. So here's our Fox
Futurecast model, 10 p.m. Thursday night.
We'll see intermittent showers that'll take us into
early Friday. Friday night,
we'll begin to see that rain chance subside. Also with that too,
our wind conditions will begin to kick up directly out
of the northwest. That's going to funnel in
some slightly cooler air. Winds anywhere between 20, 25 miles per hour.
Next three days, temps are
going to decrease. We'll be in the 60s Thursday, Friday, upper 50s.
Although we do see a brief
cool down, we do see above average temperatures look
to take us through at least the third week
of October. So it's a very brief cool down.
Extended forecast shows a lot of 50s starting
off the weekend, and then we're back
to the 60s heading into next week. Dina, over to you.
