Creating a beautiful lawn for St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway

A dream home that could change lives for just $100. Yes, this is you. Okay, so Melissa Wilson is live in Richmond at your house. So we've got the QR code right there by DeLon. Scan that. That's going to take you where you need to go for $100 to enter you. And you could find out live right here on November 11th. Say, you know what? I'll be darned. Melissa, sure enough, was in my home. You're doing good at the same time, Melissa. Oh, for sure. November 11th, we will be pulling hopefully your name right here on Fox 26. I can't wait for that as we watch this house come to life. I think it's so neat that you're a part of that. So here's what we have going on in the backyard right now. We have Daryl Burrows who's going to be bringing this to life, which I think is going to be so incredible. Outdoor Services of Texas is who you're with. How did you get involved with this incredible campaign? So I do landscaping for Empire Home and Empire's a builder of this home so you guys are great partners in all of this well we know that landscaping is very very incredibly expensive and so the fact that you are all able to do this so that when people donate their hundred dollars it goes straight to the families it's a big deal how meaningful is that to you to be a part of something like this oh anytime we can help our kids is you know very beneficial kids well why don't we show everybody what your vision is so this will all be beautiful grass it's going to be nice and green and plush soon. But I want to give you just a quick tour inside and we'll go into the front yard and just give you a better idea of what's going on. Let me move this out of your way. So things are looking great. The last time we were here, we were signing the raw floor. Now there's beautiful flooring down. We have lighting in the kitchen and then things are looking oh so good. The next time we come, I understand that we're going to have countertops in there and they're going to be beautiful from what I get. But look at this beautiful patio. And I don't know if anyone noticed before but so these are custom patios they're bigger than you would normally get which is a typical package so that's first of all nice I'm seeing you're right here my friends and some little rocking chairs looking at that gorgeous sunrise I showed you earlier it was incredible what's your idea out here as far as landscaping is concerned so out here we have a landscape package plant count that we have to follow for the community specs but we've done a little bit extra we're putting a little bit of extra stone around the beds kind of dressing up a little bit Nice. This will have a bed completely wrapped around the side of the house. And then it will also have one wrapped around that side of the house. And I'm gonna have a big island bed with a couple of trees in front and then a tree over there on the side. So we are doing a little extra, we're putting a lot of stonework in and try to make it look nice. It is going to be beautiful out here. And this is such a neat neighborhood. I mean, I feel like it's so nice just to have this fresh breath of air out here right it's just nice and open there's a school just right over here they're building even more schools and so the deal is is if you are a working family maybe you need to drive into and from Houston or whatever kiddos are going to be able to just walk to school out here which is going to be really nice it's going to be in Lamar ISD and so what is your favorite thing about this property out here at the George um i like the layout of the neighborhood i like the In fact, like you said, the school is here for the kids, close. But it's just a nice community. It's a beautiful community when you pull up into it. It is. It's incredible. Next hour, we are going to get in the car, and we're going to go on a little drive through this neighborhood to give you a better idea what it's all about. I can't wait for that. The QR code on your screen is a super simple way for you to get that $100 ticket, or you can also go to dreamhome.org. Back to you guys in the studio. Okay, and if you do it today, October 14th, it also enters you into a drawing for that $10,000 Visa gift card. I feel like, I mean, I don't even know where I would start with $10,000. So you got multiple chances to win, multiple prizes, and the best of all, you're helping out St. Jude Hospital and the incredible work that they do for families. Yeah, you can buy some furniture for the house. Hey, yeah. And a couple of groceries to put in the fridge. Just a couple though. All right, thank you.
