AI GeneratedThe St. Louis Blues are preparing for their upcoming game against the Ottawa Senators. Key discussions center on the decision to maintain the struggling top line, the highly anticipated NHL debut of Dylan Peterson, and the goaltending situation featuring Joel Hofer.
We get multiple updates surrounding the St. Louis Blues heading
into their next game as Jim Montgomery gives key updates heading into
the game, including a player looking at his debut for this franchise
and a look at one line in particular as things continue to go south.
we get an update surrounding Robert Thomas
and the rest of the top line plus so much more in this
episode you're not going to want to miss it
but before we get into it I just want to give a huge
shout out to absolutely everyone watching
and if you're part of almost 60% watching this right
now and you haven't hit that free subscribe button go down
and do it we'll keep you up to date with
everything to do around the St. Louis Blues
from rumors reports line changes anything you can think
of you can catch right here from myself and Darius
and a huge shout out to absolutely everyone
watching and let's just dive straight into it where
the Blues are keeping the top line together
now of course looking over the recent stretch
of games to start the season Darius what was once the
most productive line in the NHL has started
to struggle as that top line has not looked the
prettiest to start the season
and of course multiple guys spoke out Robert Thomas spoke out
and of course Jimmy Snuggerud saying that they're
not where they want to be looking at Snuggerud
over the last stretch of games having two goals versus Columbus
but of course the production not
matching what we've seen last year what
are your thoughts on Jim's decision to keep this line
together and are you a pro of riding it out
and hope that it gets to the point we've seen last
year I think I am I think that I do think that you have
to ride this out a little bit longer and I
think some comments which we'll get to later
in this video to kind of agree with that i we just
need to see more consistently out of this group
and i would ride it out a little while longer i
think that sending a message to players sometimes works
and i think sending the wrong message can
be very detrimental to a group
and at the slightest slightest bit of controversy when you meet
controversy what do you do and if you tell
the whole group we're going to change everything up
as soon as we hit you know controversy you're never going
to be able to figure it out the
players are never going to be able in a position
to go man we're really fighting it right now we
have to figure this out
so despite what i said last week despite what i said in our last video
i do believe at this point right now they do have
to keep them together they do have to ride it out
a little bit longer
because as we saw last year they can play well together it doesn't just
disappear chemistry at times can you know sway over
the course of a season and things happen
you got to be feeling good about yourself
and your teammates of course but i think mark that
they have to keep it together for a little
while longer see if they can figure it out and if they
absolutely can't and it's killing the team
because i wouldn't say it's you know murdering the team
right now that it's not absolutely killing them
or sewering them but if it gets to the point where
it is then maybe you have to take a look
at changing something like that and it also you
know shouldn't take away from the fact
that the second line's actually look pretty good with uh
McMichael and um obviously McTavish
and Bergeron on that second line when they've been together
their numbers look pretty good too
so uh robert thomas is really you know good as you can see
here against the senators he really likes
playing against the senators notoriously so
very excited to see what that looks like in the next game
and hopefully they can get going just
a little bit more consistently because if they can
then obviously all is well and good for the
blues but to me i do wonder about sending certain messages to the group
and if it's like oh it's not
working we got to change it immediately like i don't know
if that's the best message and we see
you guys down in the comments you do agree
with this too is keeping that together the top line
you need to see if they can get
the momentum last year we've seen how good they were coming out of
the olympic break so keeping them together
and like you said there is just a bit of energy or
any kind of momentum shift can get you right back
into that line being dominant i mean we've seen
of course Jim Snugger talk about the momentum shift
from fights that happen within this team
as well on the ice now with this team in the locker room
but with this team it is very exciting
to see that they're giving them the chance the leash
is a little longer than we'd probably expect
from other guys within this team
but speaking to other guys and new faces joining the team
Dylan Peterson is set for his NHL debut with the St. Louis Blues
and it's an incredible fun story
to watch him make his push now looking
at the projected lineups before we dive into quotes
from Dylan himself and of course going into why
this is a big game for the young player
We can see the Holloway, Thomas, and Snugger are staying together.
Connor McMichael, Mason McTavish, and Bergeron are staying together.
And we can see the group is slowly coming together
with the fourth line being Johnson, Suter, and Peterson.
That is going to be hell to deal with for the Ottawa Senators
with a big line with the skill of Suter down the middle.
That is going to be the definition of purgatory,
whoever gets matched up against them.
But looking at this, and of course him getting into the lineup,
a lot has to do with the injuries
that this organization has sadly dealt with over the past
couple of weeks where they're right back where they left
with key guys going out but looking at
him debuting for this team going in front
of his hometown crowd I've been to wear the note for six
years since I got picked in the third round
in 2020 it's a long time to wait to work to get here
it's full of emotions and I'm
so excited now with the Ottawa homecoming this is a guy that I expect
guy have a huge game honestly our goal would
be a storytelling moment with him spending the form
of hockey years in Ottawa
and he'll have 40 to 50 people there tonight for his debut Darius what
did you thought about the young guy getting
in of course Jim kept it a very Jim quote and said that
he's a fourth liner prototypical stepping
in but I think there's a bit of production with him that
a lot of people might not notice I did want to get into this quote
because I thought it was hilarious
and i kind of wanted to start here
because i don't know if this is a compliment which i think
he means it like a compliment obviously
but i think it can be taken another way too where it's
like that's all you see me as right
so i thought that was a pretty funny quote but no prototypical
fourth line player i would take it if i
was a player is a good thing right you're coming in
we trust you to do a job and i think
that's why you're getting the call up and why you're going
to be put in this spot and the timing is incredible like
the fact that he's from ottawa and they're
you know against the Ottawa Senators
and they're gonna have 40 50 people in attendance like that
is a great story so really good stuff from him
and it's always exciting to see NHL debuts and
um you know just debuts in general with the Blues
so uh we'll see how that plays out obviously he's
not going to be put in a position to score some big goals
or a hat trick or anything like that
but he's just got to go to work and he has a job
to do on that fourth line so that'll be fun but
again classic Jim Montgomery like I thought that quote was hilarious
because he's obviously trying
to pay him a compliment but it can definitely be taken the other way
but again huge story going
into this one and then joel hofer
also the starter heading into the next game i i think one storyline
to really keep an eye on here as the season continues
to progress and i'll keep saying it is
does Jordan Binnington get traded or sorry not does
when does Jordan Binnington get traded because
uh i think it's going to happen at some point
and again Hofer is the expected starter i think that
he is the starting goaltender of this team he's earned
that spot dating back to the last season
you know where does it come into play where Jordan Binnington
is possibly traded at this point
and how far you know towards the trade deadline is that much
and I think a big moment too it's
looking at Joel Hofer it sucks to see Binnington slipping
but an opportunity again for Joel Hofer
to come in and show people why he's a top goaltender
in the NHL looking at this of course
with him being projected both goalies are fresh
so if you did need to bring a guy in you have Joel
Hofer ready to play i also want to say
with Dylan Peterson i just double checked he's from
California just playing his early days in Ottawa
so don't write on us in the comments just saying
that down below but fans let us know
your thoughts about everything around this team from the debut
coming into this game with Joel Hofer anything you can think
of leave comments down there because we
love reading through and if you guys want us

line to even diving into deep stats
