Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe speaker addresses Oprah Winfrey to explain the \"no contact\" trend among adult children, arguing that it is often a necessary survival mechanism against narcissistic and abusive parents. Using the violent case of Nick Reiner as a cautionary extreme, the speaker asserts that lifelong abuse and control can lead to devastating psychological breaks and violence.
A friend of mine called me recently distraught over
the fact that her grown daughter whom she
thought she had a really great relationship
with and had recently just gone to dinner with
sent her a message saying I'm no longer going
to be in contact with you. Please do not try
to reach me. She thought something had happened
to her child that perhaps she'd been kidnapped
and realized shortly after sending authorities
to see if her daughter was okay that it was true
that her daughter no longer wanted to have contact
with her and she was asking me if I knew about
this trend in in the country
and I said you know I'd read something about it but now I've looked
into it, not only looked into it, but actually did.
Dear Oprah Winfrey, in response to your
initial video where you're explaining that you have a girlfriend
who has an adult daughter who
went no contact and your friend is trying to figure out,
you know, why is this such a trend
of adult children going, no contact with their parents.
Oprah, I hope I truly and sincerely hope
that you get it now. Maybe you don't,
because I honestly believe that since the baby boomers
are the ones that, uh, you know, that is your target audience.
That is the audience that made
you filthy rich. You are a baby boomer.
Uh, I, I believe you will always side with the boomers.
Um, Oprah, I hope you understand now why us
adult children choose to go no contact given
all this attention, um, behind the Rob Reiner,
Rob and Michelle Reiner and their son, Nick
Reiner.
So many of us hate our abusive parents
because the abuse doesn't stop.
it's a lifelong thing when you have a narcissist for a mother
and father it's never ending abuse
they lack accountability they don't feel they have any issues they have
a godlike complex
they do not treat their adult children
with respect they talk down to them and treat them
like children there is no middle ground
when you have a narcissist for a parent so what do we do
after trying so many times to to come to terms
with the person you looked up to and the person
you loved you know how difficult it
is to cut off somebody you love genuinely sincerely love
and then to grow out of love with them
because you realize the reality that they never loved you
they gave birth to you for all the wrong reasons
but love I hope this Rob Reiner situation is an
eye opener, especially to people like Oprah.
So, so she and others from her generation can stop
gaslighting us adult children into reconnecting and reconciling.
I do not condone what Nick did
to his mother and father. I think it's horrible.
I think it's heinous, but whatever pushed him to
that breaking point, it was extremely personal.
That, that rage, that type of rage has been
repressed inside of him for years.
We don't know why I'm sure it'll come out in due time,
but to slice the throat,
not only did he slice the throat because I'm hearing from the autopsy
reports, he stabbed their bodies up. He butchered them.
That is the next level anger that he had
towards his family. So Oprah, um,
you keep dancing around narcissism.
Why don't you do a, a, a show
specifically on narcissistic parents
and the dynamic the toxic hostile dynamic and environment
that they create for their children how
is a sociopathic little boy created in early childhood
let's talk about that because i do believe nick
is also sociopathic psychopathic and he didn't
get like that his parents did that to him
do i believe he's spoiled yes his parents did that to
him do I believe he's manipulative yes he learned it
from his parents a true narcissist a narcissistic
sociopath when you threaten their money
when you threaten to take away their money their freedom
their control they will lose it that's why
the domestic violence rate is so high and so many
women are filing divorce the the divorce rate I believe
is like 80 percent right now with women
being the primary filers of divorce. Why?
Because when you're in a marriage or a relationship with
a sociopath and you even mentioned the word divorce
or I'm leaving you, what happens?
He'll black out and he will harm the woman.
He will do everything to prevent her from leaving.
He is controlling or a lot of women end up six feet under
when they tell their husbands
they're divorcing and leaving.
So in the case with Rob Reiner and his son, Nick, they had a heated
argument. Why was Nick even at the party
when he should be at a facility getting treatment? Who
told him about the party? Who invited him?
Why was he there with his dad? Why did his dad humiliate
him in front of the guests?
So many questions, but whatever it was, it was enough to push him
over the edge and said, I can't do this anymore.
I'm going to unalive my parents. See, Nick is a
sociopath. In my opinion, everyone wants to put
the focus on his mental illness and drug addiction.
Those are contributing factors.
But if we go back to early childhood, preteen years, that's where
his parents were creating the monster.
A personality disorder is separate and it's different from a
mental illness disorder. I think people get the two confused.
The personality disorder is the
narcissism and the antisocial personality disorder.
I know a lot of people that are schizophrenic.
They're now saying that Nick was diagnosed with schizophrenia recently.
Everybody with
schizophrenia is not going to go around harming people.
Okay. So, um, his attorney is going to
argue that it was the mental illness.
I feel it was the sociopathic part of him that snapped
because mom and dad, probably dad threatened to take away his money,
take away his control,
and he lost it. You cannot play with a narcissistic sociopath,
psychopath, threaten their
freedom, threaten to take their money,
especially when you've enabled them. You've given them money.
You've spoiled them all these years. You take it away.
They're going to black out. It's the same
dynamic when a man and a woman are in a marriage
or relationship living together and he's abusing
her and taking from her and controlling her and she's had enough
and she's threatening to leave
or divorce him he blacks out
and he harms her to prevent her from leaving to prevent others from
controlling her if i can't have you no one else can
if i can't control your money and your vagina
no one else can you're leaving me oh i don't think
so watch this how are you going to leave
if you're six feet under.
The same applies to a sociopathic young man that is being controlled,
enabled, and abused by his parents.
And they've done this to him so long. They've leveraged his
mental health, threatened to, you know, take his money away.
They've been doing this all his entire
life. And I'm sure they've had massive family arguments.
He has said this in his interviews
that he gets crazy on his family
but they never thought he would flip out and take their lives
like that so oprah i want to say to you why
no contact is critical i don't think that nick is
the only person we should be focusing on i think
his parents were also abusive but they were painted
to be this wonderful loving uh married couple you know
in hollywood there are some dark secrets with
this family. And I hope that Nick will be able to tell that soon.
So we can really find out what
went on behind closed doors
because they're really making this a whole mental illness issue. No,
I think it's abusive parenting. It's a possibility.
He could have been trafficked, um, exposed to
sex, you know, in Hollywood by his dad and his friends.
I'm gonna leave it there. But to answer
Oprah's question, we have to go no contact
because it's either going to end up with violence.
someone's going to get really hurt
or someone's going to jail children are flipping out on their
abusive parents just know that the boomers are being humbled
and their day of reckoning is here
