A Thursday night football game tomorrow night.
And boy, oh boy, the more I keep looking at this game, Craig,
the more and more I'm just going
to be fascinated with the chess match here
between these two head coaches who, if you don't, if you recall,
when McDonald got the job as the head coach of Seattle,
the first game that he actually
was going up against was Denver and Sean Payton.
and so what he did is he had uh he instructed
his guys to listen we don't have anything on
what Denver's doing what's going on so he had all
the guys go look up on social media and pull all
the clips from training camps
or anything that was posted online was said let's go let's try to
figure out what's going on what they're running
what's Peyton doing Sean Peyton ended up catching
wind of that and lost his mind uh
and then accused McDonald of cheating then they threatened a
lawsuit back and said how dare you think i'm cheating
so these two do not like one another
under any circumstances and let's face it this is kind
of a pretty important game for both these
teams at this point uh especially Seattle coming off
of that loss to the 49ers now they gotta go
to Denver uh i'm wondering if he found any more videos
on social media about what because it would
be nice to see what offense looks like
from Denver except Craig we're not getting any and that's the
problem the total is 40
and a half i i'm still struggling to figure out how we get over that
number here tomorrow night yeah i mean the recipe
for Denver has been the same in every game home
or road which is nothing in the first half
and then in the second half Bo Nix starts throwing
it around they start running
and so that that might that's good that like we talked about
yesterday that's gonna be my play tomorrow
is first half Seattle I mean why should I change
why should anybody change why should Denver
be different than what they've been for four games
or five games already whatever week we're
in but they just seemingly sleepwalk through the first
half and then like how about that game against Jacksonville
when they looked like they were
going to get crushed and they came all the way back i don't
and beat Jacksonville in the second
half i don't know amazing amazing you can't keep starting buying
the eight ball every game
and expect now again you can get away with it with the Chargers
who are even worse uh offensively
here but uh if you can cut back
on the turnovers there Sam Darnold that would be fantastic but
i'm with you you know what that first half play love that look as well
because i think that
is exactly what we're going to get
if it ain't broke don't fix it that offense is broke with
Sean Payton right now who took over play calling duties uh from Webb
who everyone kind of looked
sideways when he said all right we're going I'm hiring
an offensive you know Davis Webb is going
to hold he's going to call a shot uh turns out
that when you look at what they did prior to the
game last time yeah the offense actually performed
a little bit better than they did with Sean Payton
calling to play so it feels like there's a lot
of finger pointing we're looking for answers that
nobody has but i can tell you this seattle better
be able to run the ball right and sooner rather
than later because if Sam Darnold is going to be or have to drop back
and throw 40 passes seattle's
because that defense is not what it
was a year ago i don't think anybody expected it to be
but you you're gonna need a running game at some point
so hopefully they get healthier
uh and not have to use halani third string running backs
who fumble in the end zone much more
going forward yeah so another another thing you brought up
in this game that that i think is is
worth looking at and i'm not sure that i'd have
an opinion one way or the other but i will have
an opinion on something which is like i i think
at this point on the monday night and sunday night
games i cannot recommend an under at all until i see one
because there are none every single game
is going over they're going to overtime a lot
of scoring now last thursday if i'm not mistaken
the total was 48 and a half with dallas and tampa bay
and that thing went way under so thursday
night generally has been the under night of the week
so i think i can buy that with you but i do
want to say that when we're back here next monday i'm
not going under on anymore like and on sunday
night anymore i mean these these primetime games
for whatever reason these guys are showing up in
a big way there's so much 60 70 points in all
these games thursday night though a little bit
different here so maybe i could go with that one now
the previous thursday night games have been
going over too but i think the trend's got
to start to get back to where it normally is which
is i agree thursday games used to be duds through the years
Thank
you.
