Retaliation may have been the motive
in a shooting in Bloomington earlier this month
that sent more than 100 bullets flying through a neighborhood.
And the target was the man suspected
in another shooting just days before.
Those allegations came in new court documents today.
Fox 9's Mike Manzoni is live in Bloomington for us tonight.
And Mike, this ties the Bloomington shooting
to the homecoming shooting in Eden Prairie.
And Randy and Kelsey, those court documents
do not explicitly mention the homecoming shooting,
though they do say some other details that connect it,
but they do say that this is all tied
to Somali gangs. Surveillance video shows
at least two shooters firing more than 100 rounds
in the middle of this Bloomington neighborhood.
Investigators now say they were targeting this man,
Abdirahman Jama, who faces a riot charge
in the Eden Prairie homecoming shooting.
They filed a petition to take away his guns,
calling him a threat to public safety. And in
that filing, they say the Bloomington shooting may have
been a retaliatory shooting, pointing
out that it's directly related
to an event nearby where gang members from St. Paul were targeted.
Musab Aden, who is from St. Paul,
was one of the victims in the Eden Prairie homecoming shooting.
There's now a warrant out for his arrest
on a riot charge tied to that shooting. Two others,
Omar Abdullahi and Muhammad Haji
also face riot charges for that incident.
The suspected homecoming shooter, Adam Adam, is now out on bond.
Three of the four homecoming suspects did appear
in court earlier today,
and a judge set Abdullahi's trial for December 7th.
We're live in Bloomington tonight.
Mike Manzoni, Fox 9.
All right.
Thanks, Mike, for the update.
