Video Summary
AI GeneratedFlux Projects is hosting a free outdoor concert at 10th Street Park in Midtown Atlanta. Featuring trumpeter Tiffany Good and DJ MetaSpin, the event blends musical genres to provide a \"small moment of happiness\" for the community. The performance runs from 5 to 7 PM, followed by a movie night featuring \"Wicked\" in partnership with the Midtown Alliance.
A free outdoor concert is bringing live trumpet and DJ beats,
how about that, to Midtown this evening.
Tiffany Good and DJ MetaSpin are teaming up at the 10th Street Park.
It's a 10th and Peachtree from 5 to 7,
the perfect day for this, the perfect evening.
And our Eli Jordan is in his hat,
and he's joining us with a preview. Hey, Eli.
Hey, good morning, Eli. Yeah, I mean,
I'm looking forward to the performance this evening,
and hopefully we'll get a little sample later on in our later shows.
But right now, this is a Flux project,
and Flux likes to bring temporary art projects to Atlanta and,
you know, make Atlanta more of a metropolitan feel.
You know, you walk around, you've got some entertainment,
not just people busking, asking for spare change,
but actual performances, pop-up performances is what I call them.
And we've got that happening here
at the corner of 10th Street and Peachtree.
I'll show you where we are.
This is real close to right across the street from the Federal Reserve.
So, you know, they've got the dog park right behind me here.
but this is corner of 10th Street
and they're going to be set up right here.
Tiffany Good and DJ Meta Spin, but with me right now
is the executive director of Flux Projects, Danny Ten.
Hey, Anne, how are you doing?
Hey, Eli, thanks for having me out.
Thanks for coming out.
So tell me a little bit about the performance tonight coming up.
So it's a free performance.
It's open to everybody.
So come out, bring a blanket,
hang out on the lawn and listen to the performance.
um tiffany good is an amazing trumpeter
and she's going to be joined by dj metaspin it's going to be
a performance that blends genres um regardless
of where you're in the music field um i think
you're going to find something that you love
and they're just amazing performers so it's going to
be very easy approachable and a fun way to spend five minutes
or two hours with us before the movie
this evening. I'm sure it's going to be a toe tap
and head bopping good time and jamming. But what
is it? So you guys, I guess, lack of a better term, sponsoring them.
You commission them. Yes.
And that's Flux Projects. Yes.
What does Flux Projects do exactly? So Flux Projects commissions
temporary public art projects that connect people,
reimagine places, and hopefully provide new ways
to experience one another
so we feel that by putting art in daily life and bringing people
together for an emotional experience you see the city differently
but you also um it it it enriches
your attachments to the city it fosters civic
pride you guys have been doing this for about
16 years yeah for 16 years we've done a myriad
of things across the city and what you're seeing
tonight is the most recent in a series we've
been doing called small moments of happiness
and last year we looked around at what we thought
was needed most in the city and decided it was
joy and that we had so much coming to us all
the time from every direction and what flux projects
could do is just provide a moment for you
to stop during your daily life to experience something
fun and engaging put a smile on your face along
with your co-workers your friends or complete
strangers and so we got
um tiffany good yeah dj uh mattis spin mattis spin coming out here and
then later on they're gonna be showing wicked out here
on the lawn is movie night with the midtown
alliance you guys are partnering up
but you guys like i said they're not out here working for tips
or anything you guys paid them commissioned them flux projects
is a 501c3 correct correct we're a
non-profit arts organization
and all of our work is really comes from artist ideas we take a lot
our cues from what artists are doing believing
that if they're interested in something then we
all need to be paying better attention
and so this this series really struck a chord with artists
and we also believe that if an artist is coming out
to do something for us they're getting paid
so that is not to say don't go online
and support our work we're online at fluxprojects.org you can
also find these artists they are often performing in clubs
or at venues where you can support their
work directly tiffany's also an amazing um composer
and i can listen to some of that online
as well tell me your website one more time
fluxprojects.org fluxprojects.org if you want
to donate or if you want to participate
that's where to go flux projects and you can also find us on
social at flux projects awesome
and dennington's executive director of flux projects and flux
projects.org that i believe they're coming out here
at least uh we get tiffany good out here
getting ready to uh start setting up her gear and uh
so uh we'll have some more stuff later on but
i'm real excited to check it out
and uh see what kind of jams we're going to be having later on
today and then officially starts at 5 p.m
and wraps up at 7 but come on out here at the intersection
of peach tree and 10th back to you 10th street park pretty cool
and the perfect day like we
mentioned for this as well eli thank you
so much we'll see you a little bit later today
