Breaking news in Orange County.
A car just plowed into a daycare in Pine Hills.
Good evening, everyone. I'm Jack Royer. And I'm Luann Sorrell.
Five people sent to the hospital, including three children.
The crash happened around 3:30 this afternoon
at a daycare along Pine Hills Road.
It's not too far away from Barnett Park.
Fox 35's Larissa Leone is live at the scene right now.
So Larissa, very scary situation.
Do we know how the people who were hurt are doing?
Luann, I will get to that right away, but I just want to show
you they're pulling the car associated with this crash away
and you can just see the hole inside of
that learning center just showing you the magnitude
of how hard they had to hit and as you said there
are children who are in the hospital right now
now Florida Highway Patrol says an SUV slammed
into the Tattletales Learning Center around three
and troopers say a 79-year-old driver was driving
down Pine Hills Road when he lost control,
crossed the median, went through oncoming traffic,
hit the shoulder, and ended up right there.
Now, that driver was taken to the hospital as well.
Five kids were taken to Arnold Palmer.
We don't know their conditions, but we did speak to Florida
Highway Patrol on what they know. It's a classroom.
We have kids in there. So some of the kids were
transported. I don't believe anybody, we don't have anybody critical.
And the driver, everybody's
doing well but it could have been a lot worse grateful
that nobody is in critical condition
right now we are told by Florida Highway Patrol they will update
on us on the conditions of those
children there was also the driver that was taken to the hospital as well
and uh we've got to come down
this way because there is Eleanor
and Pine Hills both those cross streets are closed down at the
time still a very very active scene we're still getting details
on how this happened how this
happened. It had to have been just a scary,
scary incident for everybody involved. So we will
continue to follow this story
and give you everything you need to know. But for now,
Larissa Leone, Fox 35 News.
