Hi, Video Joe here, and I want to take you on a little journey, all right? That's what this video is about. It's about showing you different things around the house that you live in on how you can fix all kinds of stuff on your own that you never thought that you could. You know, if you want to be a DIY person, that's fine. This is a DIY for beginners app. It's for all kinds of people who want to save money around the house, for all kinds of things even if you're not a DIY person but you thought you wanted to do something but you didn't think you were handy around the house you didn't you didn't have an idea that you could fix all kinds of stuff in your house you didn't have anybody to show you different types of things that you could do on your own and that you could gain knowledge and experience and start saving some of that hard-earned money around the house okay I'm just gonna kind of walk you around and show you all kinds of different things that you could do on your own and i i'm not i'm not doing this in any particular order i am just showing you different things that i happen to think you can do and i've done these things in this house here am i a licensed professional no you don't have to be and that's the beauty of this whole thing okay i'm just an average joe if i can do it you can do it in fact i will never show you a video i think you can't do remember that all right so here we are in the bathroom all right i'll show you how to fix a running toilet i'll show you how to diagnose it i'll show you how to replace the flapper i'll show you how to replace the fill valve that's inside of there i'll show you how to install one of these soft closing toilet seats I'll show you how to remove the toilet if you want to replace it I'll show you how to install a I always want to say a paper towel holder a toilet paper holder I'll show you all kinds of stuff in your house your exhaust fan maybe you don't you can't figure out how to remove that or there's something wrong with it or you want to get it replaced or you want to fix something up in the attic that has to do with that okay what about your your doors on your doors if the door is sagging i'll show you how to diagnose that how to figure out what is going on how to make the fixes for a sagging door or your door handle you want to get replaced or your door handle is not fitting into your door strike properly how to make the adjustments on that how to replace your door hinges how to go about painting your door do you want to paint your door on your own did you know that you can and i'll show you different ways on how to do that and make it look like a professional did it and painting your your door casing how about replacing a paddle light switch okay this is a standard paddle light switch okay maybe maybe you're in bathroom and the light's too bright when you come in well maybe maybe just maybe you want to figure out how to install a dimmer switch like this so and then and then have it go on and off so that when you turn the lights on now this this dimmer happens to be just for the can lights see how they dim down maybe you just want to do that at night you could set it at dim right there when you come in at night you can boom just do that and it doesn't you don't have to squint your eyes and every time you come in here it's kind of painful to turn the lights on at night you know what i mean i'll show you how i'll show you how to put one of those in what about if you got an electrical outlet i don't even see oh there there's one right there i i can i know for a fact that one is not a GFI electrical outlet but i'll tell you whether or not that one needs to be changed or whether or not you can use that one in case it's tied end of something like this okay what if you what if you got a GFI electrical outlet i call it a GFI ground fault interrupter but now they call them GFCIs what if what if yours is not working i'll show you how to test it i'll show you how to diagnose it i'll tell you how whether or not i think you need to replace that and then i'll show you the steps on how to replace it maybe you want to remove your bathroom light fixture and it's all wonky and it's 25 years old and and you don't really like the looks of it but you think you want that done but you don't know how to do it i'll show you how okay what about your can lights do you do you know if you got the right light bulbs in there do you know there's another light bulb in here that you could save way more money than your existing light bulbs did you know that I'll show you how to check that let's go in here in the shower okay what are you going to learn in the shower anyways well your your shower head maybe it's not maybe the flow is not coming out right I'll tell you how to fix that maybe maybe when you turn this off this still drips and you think there's something wonky going on I'll show you how to remove this what type of cartridge you might need how to how to remove your cartridge okay and how to do all that did you know you going to be a plumber on this yeah you can do that kind of stuff okay here's a here's a shower drain maybe it's all clogged up i'll show you how to fix that with a very cheap tool maybe your bathtub is clogged up with hair i'll show you how to do that maybe you've got a a jet bathtub and it's flashing air zero six on it and it's a jacuzzi style and you're you're hemming and hawing about calling a plumber out here i'll give you steps on what you can check yourself before you call a plumber maybe you can fix it okay what else is in this bathroom what what about your your bathroom uh drains okay i'll show you when those get clogged up i'll show you a cheap tool on how you can do it on your on your own without getting underneath the sink and removing removing the the the p-trap the adjustable p-trap and all that kind of stuff if you want to if you want to remove all that and clean all that up because you dropped a diamond ring down through there or or something like that i'll show you how to take that apart i'll show you how to put it back together i'll show you how to adjust it make sure it doesn't leak and
