Hey, Video Joe here. I'm right in the process of making
and creating an app I think you need,
okay? It's for DIY and basically for the DIY beginner, okay?
If you're interested, stick around.
I wish I could tell you so much more on this video,
but I know this this video trailer should
only be five or six minutes long, but you know what?
I figure the more I talk, the more you
learn. At this point, if you're listening to all
this kind of stuff right now, you don't mind if
if this goes over six or seven minutes do you
and when we moved in we got we got this whole
uh couch area and and some of these some
of these are recliner this one has power this one has power
this one has power the consoles have power
but i didn't have an electrical outlet on the floor i
do now i do now it's under here see it there it is right there
and it's hooked up to a nice little
um uh power strip there
and it's all look it looks it looks professional doesn't it i did that
myself i i i figured out how to cut that we've got
this is the uh ground floor and there's an
there's a crawl space down through there i fished
a wire down there i got i wanted to get power to
this had to get power to this i didn't want to run
an extension cord out on the floor underneath
the carpet underneath the carpet mat underneath something else
and and have it all tacky and
wonky and well yeah i wish i knew how
to do electrical i would have done it a different
way well you're gonna know how to do that because
and and there was no power underneath the floor
okay see this electrical outlet looks fine doesn't it take
a quick look at it looks exactly how it
should look when it's brand new installed well
that was the existing one when we moved in here
okay eight years ago 25 year old house i removed
that i took the existing junction box out of the
wall i fished a wire i drilled a hole with a flexi bit
from here down underneath i figured out where
it was underneath the house i ran a wire
from there down to a junction box to where i could
put an electrical outlet down underneath the floor
so now that's there then i took the power
from that junction box underneath
the floor i went over here i stapled it up did everything
make it look all right cut the hole in there put
the box in there put the electrical in there put
the put the uh put the new duplex electrical outlet there
in there came back up here had all
these wires all the spaghetti wires coming out
of here put a cutting box in there fish the wires
into the cutting box put the cutting box
in there mounted the cutting box properly rewired
everything hooked all that up to the existing
this is the existing one push it all back in
the wall you have to do it very strategically
if you got four four at least four uh cables in there
four romex cables in there
and i hooked it all back up didn't that look nice it looks nice and
professional doesn't it as for that i had power down underneath here
this this whole this whole
area i can crawl through this whole area down here okay it goes
from one end to the house to the
other on out through that other area
no light under there no power under there for extension
cords anytime i worked under there i had to take
my construction my my construction light down
there run 150 feet of extension cord out
from the deck down underneath the house i don't have to do
that anymore why because i took that power
from there ran it over to a light switch location
installed the light switch installed another
electrical outlet down there so when i come in
through through the crawl hole boom i can hit
that and then i put lights i put a light over there i
ran wire put a light here ran wire
in the next bay put another light over here when i hit that i've
got plenty of light to make have
a party down there i've got electrical outlets down there now
for extension cords whatever i want
to do okay i'll show you how to do stuff like that i'll show
how to figure out which
which electrical outlet here to use that for how to go through all
that how to go through all that kind of stuff see
this this is this is where i do stuff this is where
i do stuff on my computer to bring this all
to you here i am right here give video joe a chance
prove it to you one step one lesson one completed diy project
at a time that's all included in the
app okay there's a bat there's
a bathroom down here i did some work i did some work here in the
bathroom okay in the in the um exhaust fan
as for the exhaust fan in the other bathroom over here
there was a nest there was there was there
was um there was leaves coming out of this thing
i'm like what the heck is going on and so after we moved
in i pulled it all apart and went
underneath the house took the plywood up the side
of there shined a flashlight in there figured out
what was going on a mouse
or a rat had made a nest up in there he had crawled through the
the uh flexible pipe all the way outside crawled up through there
from outside went over here
minding his own business raising his family right here
in this exhaust fan i i went through all
kinds of steps do you know eight years later has
that mouse ever come back will he ever come back
i happen to think he won't
and I'll show you why these are all kinds of things you can do and as
for your plumbing repairs as for your bathroom repairs
if you have more than one toilet in your
house like most people do guess what
if you can fix everything on one toilet I know eventually
you're going to have other things happening
in your other toilet trust me okay towel bars show
you how to install there okay towel rings show you how
to do that how to fix your your uh electrical
outlets your GFIs like i told you sink faucet like
this yes okay you know now here's here's
something else I did look at this look nice there used
to never be a ceiling fan in here okay there
never used to be a ceiling fan in here okay there
is now there wasn't even a location up there there
wasn't even a light switch there wasn't even
anything there wasn't anything on the wall this
here is for these is for these two lights that's
the only thing in this room can you believe that
I guess there's one here that's a three-way
this is this is a three-way switch from here to there
turning just those two lights on and that's how they made
this house 25 years ago no light up
here no ceiling fan location up here
no nothing okay i couldn't have that wifey of course she
wanted a ceiling fan here she wanted one
in this bedroom she wanted one in this bedroom
okay do you see any do you see any drywall patches up here
do you see any drywall patches on the wall
over here okay again this switch is for the lights
on the bed okay there's another switch back there
behind that and that makes it a three-way
and so when you're in the bed you can you can reach in i
i don't know exactly oh there it is see there's
a switch that's that's a three-way switch that's
connected to these lights from this switch you know
if you need to adjust your three-way switches
to show you how to do that if you want to take a three-way switch
and put a paddle uh a dimmer
switch on there i'll show you how to how you can
do that is that possible yes it's possible okay
I show you how to put this in. There was no power up here.
There's no attic above this. Follow this
here. There's no attic above here. Okay.
I got the wire up here anyways, because I can, because I
thought about it, because I did it.
And I show you, I've got a whole video series on that if you want
to watch it. But I'll give you tips and techniques,
how to figure that kind of stuff out.
Whether or not you need to cut this out,
cut the drywall out, cut the drywall up here, cut another
hole here cut a hole over here fish the wire patch
your drywall if you have to do that i'll
show you how to do it that way okay all kinds
of things i'm going to show you on this app here's
