AI GeneratedJennifer Dowling provides a weather update for the region, highlighting a warm Friday followed by a cooler, wetter weekend. While today sees highs near 80 degrees, a system moving in Friday night will bring showers and a significant temperature drop, with highs returning to the 60s for Saturday and Sunday.
Happy Friday, everyone. I'm Jennifer Dowling
in the Fox 13 Weather Center. Here's a look at your weather headlines.
We're looking at some gusty south winds tonight at 22 miles per hour.
Those are just the gusts, though. Otherwise, winds will be mild.
A cooler weekend ahead with temperatures in the 60s for highs,
which is about 15 degrees cooler than today in some locations.
And we have a chance of showers in the forecast,
too, mostly Friday night into your Saturday.
So it could be a wet start to the weekend for you.
High temperatures today,
about 61 degrees for an average high this time of year.
We're looking at 77 degrees for our high on your Friday,
78 degrees in Seattle, so getting close to 80.
This could be the last 70 degree day of the year we have,
so make sure to get out and enjoy it this evening.
A little cooler out towards eastern Washington there,
and cooler on the coast there, 67 degrees in Forks,
and 64 degrees in Hoquiam as well.
Looking at Doppler radar,
we don't have a lot going on at this time,
but that is about to change.
We're gonna have some showers moving through
for your Friday night.
You can see as we put the Futurecast in motion,
those showers pushing on through towards the coast.
They're hitting Forks and Port Angeles
by about Saturday at 12 a.m.
and then pushing on through by about 5 a.m.
which is going to pass through the Seattle area
and then it's going to hit the Cascades.
They could get a quarter of an inch of rain
from that system there.
It's going to move on out.
We could have a convective shower or two on Saturday.
The Leavenworth area, Snoqualmie Pass.
But then by Sunday, things kind of dry out
and we're going to have probably partly cloudy skies there,
a little bit drier conditions.
So you can get out and do that yard work on Sunday
if you want to wait until then.
Here's a look at your sunset tracker.
6:19 for a sunset on October 16th, that is today.
But then take a look at what happens in two weeks.
We're getting down to those five o'clock sunsets.
Once again, our days are getting shorter.
And then by November 6th,
we're going to have four o'clock sunsets.
That's because we fall back very, very soon
on November 1st, so keep that in mind.
That is coming up very quickly.
Overnight lows will be in the 50s, mid 50s there
in the Seattle area, a little cooler down there
in 49 in Centralia and then 52 degrees in Bellingham.
47 in Port Angeles, we have the possibility for showers
throughout the region overnight Friday into your Saturday.
So Saturday, for your outdoor plans, hiking,
you could have some wet trails, falling leaves,
things could get slippery because the leaves
could get wet on those trails.
Yard work, you might want to wait until the afternoon
until those showers push through.
Highs tomorrow will be in the 60s in the Central Sound,
62 in Bellevue here in the South Sound,
64 in Tacoma, 62 in Lakewood and Puyallup,
low 60s as well, Auburn 63.
To the north, we have temperatures
in the upper 50s and 60s as well, Mount Vernon at 60.
And then we have some shower activity in the area
that is going to linger into the afternoon
for folks in the north sound until about three o'clock.
So they might have a wetter day for their Saturday.
Seven day forecast, 62 degrees.
There are a.m. showers for your Saturday
and a little bit breezy.
And then Sunday, 59 degrees.
Things cool down into the 50s
and then pop back up again for your Thursday next week,
high of possible at 67 degrees.
