Roswell pastor leads church march to early voting

All right, Tara, thanks so much. A local pastor led hundreds of people to the ballot box today for early voting. Pastor Lee Jenkins ended Sunday service this morning with a clear message to get informed, get prepared, and go vote. His Souls to the Polls initiative guided people on a march from Eagle's Nest Church to East Roswell Road. Organizers say they're focused on educating voters on the importance of civic engagement and high voter turnout. I think it's easier and it motivates people when you do things as a group. There's nothing like doing it with other people. And so we wanted to put a little friendly peer pressure on people to say, hey, it's important to vote. Look what your friends are doing. Let's do it together. The majority of our church, not all of it, is African-American. And what African-Americans have had to go through for decades, you know, we've given our lives. We've had to go through a lot. So this is a way to honor the people who came before us to make sure that they did not die for nothing. This comes just over a month after Eagles Nest Church opened its new Roswell campus and a former Kohl's store.
