5 found dead in suburban Chicago home

And we're also receiving breaking developments in an investigation we have been following all morning. It is very peculiar. We now know five people are dead inside a home in Mundelein. Saquon has been out there all morning long. She joins us live. Say, what have we learned? Well, Natalie, it's just devastating that information coming in from the Mundelein Police Department in just the last 30 minutes or so. But as you mentioned, we know that five people are dead at this point. We saw their bodies being carried out this morning of this home. And we know three of them were men, two of them were women. And I'll step out of the way and you can see because this is still very much an active investigation. Right now, investigators seem to be very focused on the vehicles that are in the driveway. And what's interesting is some of the neighbors we were talking to this morning who have been living here on the same street for about 30 years now say that the vehicle that's furthest in the driveway, which is a red vehicle, does seem familiar to them. They say that they've seen that vehicle many times around this house. But what's not familiar to them are the two vehicles that are in the driveway, the two closest to us that you're seeing right now. You can see a lot of these investigators kind of going in and out of the house, in and out of vehicles at this point. Another vehicle they were really focused on just a little bit ago is this vehicle that's parked in the parking lot of a funeral home that happens to be right next door to this house that investigators seem to be focused on. And so right now we know that that car is being blocked off as part of this investigation. You can see out here live that there is a Volkswagen sedan in the parking lot of this funeral home, and police were very clear in blocking that area off. We saw them dusting for fingerprints and taking photographs, which is very typical in investigations, and we're still trying to confirm exactly what that connection is with that vehicle. Once again, investigators have been out here on site since, Gosh, 11.45 last night, according to this release. They say that this all started when they came here for a welfare check, and that is when officers found those five people dead inside of this home. We have seen some of the funeral home vehicles being used as transport vehicles for these victims, which is, again, also very typical for Lake County. It sounds like they do partner a lot with funeral directors in the area to make that happen. But take a look, I mean, you can see these investigators are basically taking photos of that car that's in the driveway. They've pretty much opened just about every single door of that vehicle at this point. So one thing I want to stress as well is that this is not just the Mundelein Police Department that we have seen here on site. We know that the Major Crimes Task Force was out here. We know that the Lake County Coroner's Office was out here. I mean, this is a full-blown effort. Not only that, we've seen police officers from surrounding agencies as well, like Libertyville come out here. And here's a neighbor kind of just stopping by here. It sounds like neighbors right now are waking up confused and they're trying to figure out what's going on. A lot of them telling me that they're shocked to hear something like this could happen in their neighborhood. Once again, still trying to figure out exactly what happened here. All police are saying at this point is that it did appear that these people were all family members or that they were in some sort of domestic relationship. They also say that two handguns were found at the scene and all five of these people did have apparent gunshot wounds coming from the police department. So, you know, we'll be here on site, of course, all throughout the morning. We'll try to gather all the information we can. But a big update here coming in from the Mundelein Police Department.
