You're watching the Fox 10 Weather Experts
with meteorologist Crystal Ortiz on Fox 10 News.
Okay, welcome back. Flagstaff live camera view for you.
Some scattered clouds that are sitting over
the mountains there, as you can see.
Otherwise, really beautiful picture that we've got this morning.
Now the town's waking on up, getting rolling
for the morning on a Monday.
Let's dive into conditions outside.
So this is the view on Fox Station.
Is there a lot of rain? No, but there are some showers out there.
It looks like a little spot shower just off to the west of Flagstaff,
near the Ash Fork area.
A few showers that are moving over parts of Navajo and Apache counties.
Then now some that are moving to the Graham-Greenlee area, too.
Everything is light to steady rain in those patches I just showed you.
As the futurecast moves along, this is through the afternoon, 1 p.m.
Notice the model does have some additional scattered showers
or thunderstorms down into southeastern Arizona.
and then more like spotty showers excuse me over northern parts
of the state and northeastern
Arizona but still there are some showers out there
as we go through the day especially with
some of the heat of the day and the elevation should get
a little bit of wet weather out there
today the valley mostly dry there's a 10% chance those showers
or two could pass but I think
generally misses to the north and east
then we go into tonight everything kind of quiets down
tomorrow looks fairly quiet as well as we get
into tomorrow afternoon yet again a little
A pulse of moisture down in far southeastern Arizona is possible
where some pockets of heavier rain could develop.
But it's really tomorrow night
and into Wednesday morning, I should say,
that we start to see some scattered thunderstorms
that maybe pack a little bit of a heavier punch.
And some of these may be able to pass
the valley as early as Wednesday morning,
but better chance later through the day Wednesday,
Wednesday night, and even Thursday too.
Here's the moisture tracker for like a better visualization of that.
So weak disturbance right now helping with the north and east showers.
that's lifting through our state as we go through today.
It's kind of out of here, a little drier for your Tuesday.
Then we get set up for your Wednesday and beyond,
where high pressure is helping to guide moisture up.
At the same time, that low pressure sitting off the coastline
is going to guide moisture our way.
So this is Wednesday afternoon, where we're windy.
We've got the rain showers.
The windy conditions linger into Thursday,
particularly for the high country.
And rain throughout the day Thursday starts
to drag farther and farther to the east.
But this pattern should be conducive
to some changes out there in the days to come.
including the risk for there to be some pockets of flash flooding.
So the increased flood risk will be for areas to the north
and east immediately of the valley.
Although, as you can see, this is the rain
total forecast for the next seven days.
And this is kind of like a model merge,
meaning it's looking at a few different models.
It's giving a general idea.
But the general idea does suggest that even in the valley,
there could be some areas where we get over an inch of rain.
This is not a guarantee.
This is just a possibility.
But it does suggest some periods
of heavier rain between your Wednesday and Thursday.
Winds will be increasing, too.
We are at least breezy by Thursday in the valley,
and we are windy both Wednesday
and Thursday in Flagstaff with gusts at 30 to 40 miles per hour.
Your 10-day forecast in Phoenix, 89 today, 91 tomorrow,
so warming through tomorrow, then dropping again.
We're at 82 on Thursday, and by Friday, we're at 80 degrees.
