But first tonight, a five-year-old boy
is being hailed a hero after helping his grandfather
through a medical emergency.
And the two were just reunited when his grandfather left the hospital.
A hospital room overflowing with joy
as five-year-old Chase Mifsud was finally reunited with his
grandfather, Anthony Magno.
The two were alone together at the Merrick home they share
when Anthony developed a fever,
was having trouble breathing, and had slurred speech.
He FaceTimed Chase's mom, who got emergency services to the house.
And Dr. Chase, as he's now called,
held his grandfather's hand and patted his back while waiting for help.
It was a good thing he was there. He was able to do what he was told.
And I think he did it very professionally.
Because here I am going home, and I can't thank him enough.
Anthony was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage,
where he was diagnosed with pneumonia.
He was sent home today,
walking through the halls with his hero grandson by his side.
Dr. Chase definitely pulled through. I do appreciate the staff here.
Everyone was fantastic, amazing, amazing.
They basically saved his life coming in here.
And that hospital staff just grew by one
when Dr. Chase was given his very own white coat and stethoscope.
We're naming you an honorary doctor for the day at St. Joseph Hospital.
And Dr. Chase kept his grandfather's room clean
while he was in the hospital, showing just how much he missed him.
