Good morning, Brooke. Good morning, Bob. And to our viewers
or listeners, we've got rain on the way, but not just yet.
We've got one more day, at least mostly dry conditions.
The rain starts to seep in tomorrow,
but it's brewing pleasant afternoon today.
We've got numbers mainly in the 80s, so really comfortable
and slightly warmer than normal. And then here comes the rain.
The time frame we're anticipating sometime late tomorrow
through Thursday. That's going to be the bulk of the system.
There could be some prefrontal showers.
So, some spotty conditions in terms
of raindrops ahead of the main portion of the system.
Rainfall totals as we tally up the possibility
into perhaps even early Friday.
Rainfall about a half an inch to an inch and a half.
Foothills and mountain communities, there's that possibility
of 1.5 inches to even up to 3 inches is possible.
We will be on watch, especially when we're dealing
with heavier downpours if it occurs over those burn scar areas.
And high surf and elevated surf
with the possibility of minor beach erosion,
beach hazard statement in place through late Thursday for the coast.
And winds will also pick up as well.
The onshore flow will bring our temperatures down by tomorrow.
Today, we've got 81 degrees on tap for this afternoon.
Sunrise at 702 this morning, so a really nice morning.
And by sunset, we'll be dealing with additional cloud cover.
Here's the area of low pressure that we are closely watching.
It is over water, and that wraparound flow
is going to bring in and tap into the moisture.
That jet stream is going to dip a little further south
and bring in our rain opportunities.
Here's a look at that future cast.
So today, mainly dry.
We could pick up, again, some spotty showers across areas
of the east end of our region,
but most areas will be dry going into Wednesday.
Early Wednesday, still some areas may be on the drier side,
but it'll start to seep into Ventura County,
LA County, more widespread rain going into Wednesday
night. You can see it applies to Long Beach,
out towards our foothill communities, and then
heavier rain, possibility of thunderstorms while you're sleeping.
So the overnight hours
could pack quite a punch in terms of rainfall,
and it'll be a slick drive on your Thursday morning,
as well as perhaps even your evening drive.
And Friday early, the system moves out,
And we're going to dry it for your weekend.
So just in time for sunshine
and really comfortable temperatures coming in this Saturday and Sunday.
So beach hazard statement for the beach.
And then here comes the rain.
We've got numbers, 81 degrees, really nice afternoon.
Today is the day to prepare.
And we also have rain chances extending into our valleys
and thunderstorms, possible Wednesday, Thursday.
But today, again, the day to get ready for it.
