A nationwide meat and poultry recall is happening
because of a possible temperature issue during
storage. Caroline Woods is in for Maribel Abre this morning
and joining us live from the NASDAQ
with our Market Watch report.
I mean, do we need a recall of meat when it's already a hot commodity
these days? It's hard to get. Good morning, Aliana and Matt.
Yes, more than one and a half
million pounds of ready-to-eat meat
and poultry products have been recalled nationwide due to
these potential health concerns.
The Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection
Service said the recalled products may have
been stored at unsafe temperatures. KM Foods
of Chelsea, Massachusetts said the recall affects hot dogs,
sausages, bacon, and deli
meats sold under multiple brand names.
The company said there have been no reports of
illness from anyone consuming the products.
The recall was classified as a Class 1, though,
its highest risk level, meaning there's
a reasonable probability that the recalled products
will cause serious adverse health consequences or even death.
Now, anyone who has purchased the recalled products,
they're asked to discard them
or return the items to the place of purchase for a full refund.

So check those meats in your fridge
and the bacon in your freezer before eating it.
