Video Summary
AI GeneratedMilwaukee is buzzing with excitement as the Brewers prepare to host Game 1 of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays. The city is blending sports fever with local autumn festivities, featuring extensive stadium preparations, community watch parties, and regional news, including the Wisconsin gubernatorial debate and seasonal Halloween attractions.
Good morning, top of the morning, hello, welcome, all the greetings,
we're all very excited, you know, yeah, yeah, it's obviously
that whole Brewers fever, brew crew thing has taken over, right,
so as part of our little weather presentation, home or away,
I've been featuring some of our Florida cams versus some
of our Wisconsin cams, and you have to guess, are we home or away?
I think that this is Door County.
This is home?
This has got to be home.
This is home, and it's Door County.
That's pretty good, Nick.
Nick, your girl knows her Door County.
I thought the fog and the water might throw you off,
but yeah, it is home up in Sturgeon Bay where it is quite foggy.
Visibility is near zero up around Green Bay and parts of Door County.
Here at home, it's Dodge Jefferson
with some patchy fog, but that's about it.
We are currently in the upper 40s and low 50s,
So not a bad start to the day today with the sun and a bit of a breeze.
We'll warm up to near 70, but cooler conditions lakeside.
It's also caps lock day.
Make sure it's not on so you're not yelling at people today.
Well, thank you, sir.
Let's give you a check of the morning commute here.
Before we get to these drive times, I'll itemize here in just a minute.
We are seeing a crash out there.
There is an incident at I-43 South just beyond
the ramp from Wisconsin 60.
The left, excuse me,
the right lane in that area is blocked as crews deal with a crash.
Let's see how all of this, though,
is reflecting on the drive times traffic map.
We are seeing some slowdowns out there.
If we could take that map full really quickly.
Not too bad here, but, oh, yeah,
once we get around the stadium interchange, things get a little dicey.
94 in both directions.
Pretty slow there.
20 minutes to Moorland to downtown, 18 minutes downtown to Moorland.
Keep that in mind as you get out the door.
Okay.
Hey, Nicola.
Come on back.
I had to grab this.
This is why I left the desk.
We need that.
These are the pom-poms.
I hope you will be...
Can I hold it?
By all means, my friend.
Oh, we got cheerleaders this year.
We got cheerleaders this year, and they will be in high demand
as the World Series takes shape for Game 1 in the matter of 24 hours.
If you've got this, shake it.
If you've got a rally towel, wave it.
There we go.
It has been 44 years since Milwaukee last hosted the World Series.
It's 1982.
Oh, my goodness, yes.
We waited a long time for this, and we have earned it.
And with all the excitement heading into tomorrow,
we have team coverage of our very own, you could say.
We've got Derek Williams outside of the ballpark.
Willie Z's inside of the ballpark.
Willie Z is taking a closer look at the World Series Media Day
that's taking place in just a matter of hours here.
It's the first and last time that we're going
to be hearing from the players
before they take to the field tomorrow.
But first...
Derek Williams getting the party started
as well for us outside of the ballpark.
Derek, we know you are feeling the energy
and also bringing the energy hello we're cheering you
on i appreciate it you guys so i wish i had pom-poms
but you guys have rally towels i feel
like this is the closest thing i'm going to get
to a towel it's kind of that material i love it it
was warm i needed it this morning
um but you know what everyone's gabbing whatever they can to
support the brewers and just show your pride
um so you mentioned that Willie Z is at media day
that's happening today but i wanted to kind
of catch you up on what else is going on in just
about two hours or so folks can grab their tickets to the watch party
so i know uh obviously here
tomorrow and saturday we're going to be celebrating
the World Series here at AmFam Field but action
still going to be going on behind me even
when we are away so we are having two watch parties
so for games three and four
so today at 10 a.m you can snag your tickets they'll cost about 15
dollars a piece uh you will have to pay for parking
but that's okay it's just going to be
a party here so why not um if there is a game five
that information will be announced at a later date
so in terms of watch parties too there's another big one
that's happening and this is going to be
pretty fun uh so tomorrow as we
also know is the home opener for the Bucks the Deer District is
going to be bumping guys let me tell you that okay
so they are having a Brewers watch party for the
game they're going to have a giveaway as well i believe
when it comes to the tickets um i'll get
into that in just a bit too but uh
so their watch party will be shifted after the Bucks home opener
which starts at three o'clock because of the World Series
so when i think about the Bucks
obviously you think about Giannis the connection
with the Brewers um the two-time MVP is still a
minority owner of the Brewers
so of course we had to ask him how is he feeling about us going this
far he's incredible i'm
so happy for the team um it's been a lot of years in the works um
Mr. Mark Attanasio and his family and his partners,
they've really invested in that city, in that team.
They've done a great job developing players.
I wish them back home the best.
And I love what the coach said.
You know, the man had a lot of Hall of Famers,
but we had a lot of gamers.
That's a quote that will, you know, last forever.
Still showing that Milwaukee love, that support, that pride, right?
It was great to hear from him about that.
But today, once again, we're going to be hearing from our players,
the Brewers, at Media Day.
And that's where we're going to talk sort of over to Lily,
because Lily, I'm sure you have a lot to ask the players
as we're looking ahead to games one and two here at home.
Good morning, yes Derek. Plenty to ask the players.
And hello, guys. What a nice privilege it
is to be at the Miller Lite Landing.
It's at American Family Field. So, yes, Media Day, it's a big deal.
And this is kind of all the preparation you're going
to see before the players arrive at the ballpark
as they take center stage to answer a lot of questions.
Now, we want to give you another look inside the ballpark as well.
The grounds crew currently inside working on the field.
The signage is up World Series.
You're going to see that plastered
everywhere inside American Family Field.
And we're just getting set, right?
Kind of feel the atmosphere.
Ooh, there's a World Series glow, I should say, right now inside.
So we're getting underway to kind of see what we can see.
And what we can see is that there's going
to be a big presence here from our Fox 6 crews and Fox as well.
And so they're going to be on this big stage
at the Miller Lite Landing.
Everyone getting ready now.
The carpet is getting set.
That's where Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Big Papi, Kevin Burkhardt,
everybody will be on the stage to broadcast the Brewers
and the Rays for the World Series.
And also, guess what?
We're also close to Bernie's Chalet.
And we're going to hope that Bernie Brewer will be going down
the slide many times during game one and two at home because
that means, guys, there will be home runs from the Milwaukee Brewers.
So we're hoping we see him come down the slide plenty of times.
But this is just a behind-the-scenes look
at what it will look like up here for the broadcast crew.
So something that not a lot of people will get to see,
but we're showing you right now on Fox 6.
So a fun day ahead for us getting underway.
And again, I mentioned Media Day is kind of the crown jewel of the day.
It'll be a Super Bowl-type scrum, if you guys have ever seen those.
That's where a lot of those national outlets will come out.
You're going to ask players a lot of
questions you wouldn't normally ask them.
And we're excited to kind of get a
behind-the-scenes look of how they are feeling,
what their mental preparation is like,
how they're going to be attacking the Rays,
and how they're going to keep playing their brand of baseball,
but also kind of get to ask a couple of funny questions as well.
So we are looking forward to it.
Those will be streaming on Fox 6 now starting at noon.
So if you want to tune in and hear what the guys are saying,
what questions we're asking, Fox 6 now at noon.
Join us there.
Yeah, Lily, the Brewers were saying the other day
that they have 200 media outlets who are coming to town for this.
And what's neat is that, you know, I think we think of baseball.
We think about, you know, America.
But we've got journalists coming from all over the world for this.
So I'm really excited to see the international coverage
for this series here in Milwaukee.
Fascinating.
Yeah, it's going to be fun to watch.
I know when the Brewers play the Dodgers, obviously,
there's that big Japanese contingent
because they're covering Shohei Ohtani
and Yoshinobu Yamamoto and company in L.A.
But, yeah, there's going to be a lot of international flair.
A lot of these guys are from Venezuela.
A lot of Latin American countries
are wondering if their outlets will be here.
But everybody and anybody, this is the place to be.
American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
How about that, right?
So we're so excited to see
this ballpark filled up later tomorrow night.
But it's just great to get in a day early,
at least for us here in the sports world,
to give you guys a nice exclusive look up here
at the Miller Lite Landing.
This is awesome.
Isn't it awesome?
Great view.
Lily has a front row seat to it all.
I love how she's like leaning on that.
She's comfy.
She's getting it home there in the Fox Sports area.
Looking good, Lily.
Looking good.
Thanks, Lily.
She's wonderful.
All right.
We'll be checking back in with both Lily
and Derricka with more on the World Series
as we get closer to Friday, meaning Game 1 is around the corner.
I'm so excited.
getting a taste of spooky season with some haunted mini golf
and some spooky refreshments
good morning good morning taking
a live look here over American
Family Field where the roof
is closed this morning okay
so there's been a lot of chatter about whether the roof is going
to be open or closed tomorrow night now fun fact
um this is only the second World Series game where
Both home stadiums have had roofs, so that's kind of exciting.
It is exciting.
So what that means, Don, is that whether you're playing in Tampa,
or excuse me, St. Pete's,
or whether you're playing in Milwaukee,
the weather isn't going to impact the series, which is awesome.
The Tampa Bay Rays, I know, are excited.
They just got a new ballpark
because Hurricane Milton destroyed their other one.
Interesting.
You know who makes the call as to whether or not it's open or closed?
No.
It's not the home team.
It's not the away team. It's the MLB themselves wonderful
So, you know if you're not happy about it being open
or closed don't blame the Brewers
Well, and here's the thing. I was in the American Family Field
yesterday getting a first look at the signage and everything
It was really cool to see the groundskeepers, you know,
make sure everything is manicured putting out the signage as well
So it was all nice and ready to go for a historic matchup
You know, I like a nicely manicured lawn and I'm impressed by the work
They've got the best.
Apparently, being a groundskeeper
at AMFAM is like a very competitive job.
Interesting.
They start in the minor leagues, and then they work their way up,
because it's a science.
And they know what they're doing, and it shows.
Big time.
All righty.
Well, this brings us to our big coverage part of the morning.
Yes, game one is right around the corner, Nick.
One more sleep, as you like to say.
One more sleep.
And we've got Erica Williams live for us
at American Family Field this morning.
She's getting us all ready for game one, which is tomorrow night.
Erica, good morning to you.
Great to see you.
I think we are having some
microphone issues unfortunately
that's okay we're gonna wait for
there we are okay so I was talking earlier
to our sister station in Tampa and they were just
surprised that like you saw my breath
in the morning like oh it must be freezing up there
and I'm like well we can deal with this so I'm hoping
the weather kind of throws them off and
we do open up that roof tomorrow because we're used to it.
We're ready to have a great time
and just kind of celebrate the moment that we got here.
We've been waiting for this guy since 1982,
so it's just going to be electric here right now.
It's kind of quiet. We have grounds crews just
mulling about a little bit in a couple of hours.
We're going to have everybody in there for media
day, so things are just kind of getting started for the morning,
but lots still happening with
coverage all morning long.
So it's just a fun vibe throughout the community.
Derek, I wanted to ask you about your
conversation that you had with Tampa
because obviously our wonderful viewers were watching us.
They didn't have an opportunity to
hear that. Kind of how are they feeling
and what did they say to you? Was there any like
trash talking going on? So a little bit.
So they were feeling confident and obviously so are we,
but they were asking about you.
They were asking about, which I thought was really,
you know thoughtful yeah um they understand just kind
of the gravity of what the players and the
ball club is feeling right now as they're heading
into this momentous situation without you know
Mr. Baseball um and basically their number one supporter
so uh we were able to share some of
the sentiments that you personally had shared with us
and the team and shared it with them so
they were very empathetic of what the team was going through
but then still on the same side
still competitive because once again we've got some brats
in there they bet uh they're Cubans so just
a little fun banter going back and forth and then i
also told them let's see if they're ready for a
good tailgate because we know how to do it
so we're just really looking forward to it and also
we have a lot of folks going down there they
were saying obviously the ticket prices are much
cheaper so i said you know what that's a good thing
that means we're going to have more
colors in Tampa. How about that?
I love that for us. Well
represented. Derrick, thank you
so much. That's so meaningful. I'm glad that
they asked about Bob Uther. That is very
kind. And had that element
reflected on their side. That's right. Well, a lot
of us believe he is the 10th player on
the field for this series.
Our angel in the outfield. That's right. Swatted that one
down from the rooftop there.
Get in there.
I love it. And I would love to say that
we are going to have the perfect
forecast but it really is kind of interesting how weather
and baseball coexist and I'll get
into that a little later on this is tough to coexist
with this is very dense fog it's fortunately
not in our backyard but it is very thick farther up to our north
and east as you get up around
Green Bay that was Sturgeon Bay
and then as you go up into places like Marinette and then up into
the UP and Marquette as well I see some very dense fog now here
at home it looks really good here at
our Kenosha cam spectacular,
but there is a little bit of fog into our western counties, but not
nearly the biggest problem we've got.
In fact, we really don't have any problems of note weather-wise
today. We're very calm and comfy.
Warm front is lifting to the north. Temperatures will be
moderate for the next two or three days.
Warmer air is actually better for the long ball because
it is actually less dense and allows more home runs,
believe it or not. I'm actually going to
write something up on the science of weather
in baseball if you want to check it out on
fox6now.com later today.
But in the meantime, let's go to Sky Vision Plus, see how things
play out for our World Series Eve.
Lots of sunshine, a little breeze off the lake,
a few more clouds and maybe even some
patchy fog tonight into tomorrow morning.
Fox weather model showing a nice calm day across the state today.
Friday stays calm and clear for game one here at home.
There are some showers moving in up north
for Friday night. If you're headed there,
maybe checking out the leaves, maybe going back up to
the cabin to watch the game, whatever it is.
There will be a few showers even into the weekend
in northern portions of the state,
but nothing in the southern areas where, of course, we live.
It should be perfect right on through the weekend.
It does get a little cloudier heading into Sunday,
but it looks like we'll wait till Monday night
to get any rain into our area. Mostly in the 60s
lakeside, 70s inland today,
dropping into the upper 40s and low 50s tonight. That puts us well
above the averages for this time of year.
59 is the average high, so we're definitely way out
ahead of that for the day today.
The course correction does kick in, though, in the long
range. There's that colder air arriving on Monday,
hanging around through Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday. Does look like we might moderate,
though, just in time for Halloween. So our
Fox 6 Day Planner starts off at 70 today,
low 70s Friday and Saturday, mid 70s by Sunday,
only to drop back down into the 50s Monday and Tuesday.
our homes hold the story of our lives
and Renewal by Andersen Windows, they're built to be there with
you through every chapter, they treasure the small moments, the ups
and downs life gives us
they're there through it all, start
your next chapter with windows that last
good morning everyone, all right
getting a taste of spooky season
with some haunted
mini golf and a spooky treat, i don't know, it sounds kind
of fun to me. Cliff Hull from Parks
and Rec joins us live now to unpack it all
my man's got the chef hat on, the apron, looks like
you're doing it big, what are you, what
are you serving up? Well, we're featuring grilled cheeses
this year we've got a really great selection
pretty excited about what we've got here, i've got
here's a few that we got.
I've got the pumpkin pie spiced cheesecake with fried
apples. We've got wood-fired apples
that we caramelized on the griddle and we put
that on some Paoli's cinnamon raisin bread. That one's fantastic.
And then the next one over we call this...
Go ahead, go ahead. No, no, I was just
commenting on how amazing that looks.
Please keep going. All right, cool. So this
one we call our green meanies. So we've got the avocado spread with
with everything bagel seasoning, it's kind of like your avocado toast.
And we've got this one on a whole grain bread with Havarti cheese.
Chef, how did you come up with the flavor profile?
These seem like they're stuff I've never had.
Well, like I said, this one kind of came
from the concept of avocado toast,
and it just seemed really natural.
We've got a great partnership with Paoli's Bakery,
and they make a really incredible product,
So it's pretty easy to just put together
some really great stuff to do that.
And, you know, I mean, who doesn't love grilled cheeses?
I've been making them since I was like six years old.
So what can other folks expect
when they come out to visit your food truck in particular?
Any kind of other unique grilled cheese options that you're offering?
Because like the first one is something that I've not had.
Well, the furthest from unique, honestly, is our ooey gooey.
I call it the OG.
This one is just Kraft American singles on a soft white Italian bread
with uh with that salted butter
and you get that beautiful brown crust on there you brown the
butter out just a little bit and uh so that's fantastic
and then really kind of unique i call
this one the franken cheese so that's the og
and then we've added an all beef quarter pound
hot dog it sounds like you grill up
and uh have that seared on that it sounds like you've taken
a typical staple typical staple in in a household
and like made it like elegant and really cool and
to try. Hardly elegant.
I was selling, I was selling our camera fella here that this one
takes me back to when I worked in country clubs where I'd have
these quarter pound all beef hot
dogs and I would just put an amazing amount
of American cheese on it. It was just such a guilty
pleasure. There you go, man.
And then finishing up, I've got my chicken. Thank you so much. Yeah,
it's a lot of fun to make this menu.
That, it looks like it. We got our chicken tenders with
tots. Chicken tenders and tots, you never can go wrong with that.
Brother, I think we are out of
time. I don't mean to rush you or be rude, but the food looks amazing.
We'll have more time with you
on the other side of the break.
Good morning, everybody.
Happy Thursday, World Series Eve,
as we called it around here, Little Friday.
It's a beautiful day for so many reasons.
Oh, it really is. Yeah, and the excitement is just,
you know, percolating, and you can just
feel it. Everybody's excited.
Let's take a live look at our day today, and you can see that
Beautiful blue sky and sunshine.
Look at that spectacular view right there.
Right now it's 50.
The dew point's at 46.
The visibility is full,
and that's the case pretty much everywhere here at home.
If you're traveling toward Green Bay, it really drops off, though.
Satellite and radar showing clear conditions.
Warm front that's going to lift north.
That'll get us to near 70 for the inland areas.
Should be in the 60s lakeside with that breeze coming in off the water.
Might need some shades if you're just about to hop in the car.
Nice sunny ride.
All right.
Taking a quick check now at your roads.
Good news, no crashes to report anywhere in the viewing area right now.
Love to see that the morning commute
is having a relatively safe start so far.
We are seeing some slowdowns on 94 headed east right now.
That's kind of par for the course for this time of day.
It'll take you 18 minutes to go from Orland to downtown.
Please drive safe wherever it is that you are headed.
All right, folks, the Brewers
are getting ready to face the Tampa Bay Rays
in games one and two of the World
Series right here in our beautiful city
at American Family Field.
Folks, it has been a long time coming,
as it's been 44 years since the crew last made it this far.
And as we celebrate and anticipate the crew playing
in the World Series in just one more day,
we also remember that 1982 team that made
the franchise's first ever appearance.
Yeah, it's so neat to see all of their names still having such
a presence in and outside of the ballpark.
Derricka Williams is joining us now live outside
of American Family Field with more on that legacy
and how neat, Derricka, this must be for them to look back and remember
and also look forward to tomorrow.
Yes, and it's really meaningful, you know,
obviously for the players from 1982,
but all of even the fans generationally, you know,
there were some that saw and watched the game back then,
looking forward to what's happening.
But once again, you're correct, as we look ahead to the World Series,
we're excited about that,
but obviously there's a nod to the players of the past.
So yesterday was a really cool opportunity.
we're hearing from some of the players
of the World Series that played back in 1982.
So members of the team met with journalists just to, you know,
reminisce and reflect on the current team
and the squad and what it means to them.
Take a listen.
It was extremely rewarding,
not just for us fans,
but it had to be extremely rewarding
for the players to beat the Dodgers four straight
after all the challenges we've been up against
and with them over the years.
And I think obviously, you know,
players past and current
feeling just the pride of this ball club right now.
So I'm sure, you know, reminiscing about them, thinking about even you.
They have a lot going on inside of them,
as well as the fans pumping them up, looking into the World Series.
So I think they're going to have some good support.
that is super cool just to like live through both
of those um games you know just comparing maybe
what it was like back then to what it is now yes yeah
and watching the legacy watching the baton
being passed like to be able to do that in their lifetime that's
so meaningful it is so meaningful
my gosh i'm so grateful that you know those guys
are still talking about this you know because it's
fun for all of us to relive it we know that there's
so many fans who live in our community
still who were there who remember it
so uh yeah this is really special Derek thank you so much
for bringing us that yeah well folks as Derek has
been mentioning games one and two will be
Friday and Saturday at American Family Field
then the series shifts to Tropicana Field in St Pete
for games three and four there will be also
a watch party for games three and four at American
Family Field and tickets go on sale for the general public
for that at 10 o'clock this morning
they will be for $15.
If necessary, game five will also be on the road. Game six and seven
would be back in Milwaukee.
And then all games start at 7 p.m., which you can watch right here
on Fox 6. All right, Don.
So we've heard of pocket pancakes, but have you ever seen a pocket
Kringle? Not until now. Not until today.
Guys, this is so cool. This is from O&H Bakery. They
are so creative. They're so festive.
And they put on some good products. I'm sorry, make some good
products. Yeah, so this is from O&H Bakery.
They're available in limited quantities. Should
I take the cover off those at the end of the desk?
I think I will. Okay. So this is a cream
cheesecake Kringle. Okay.
And it's actually apparently a game day snack tradition for
Pat Murphy. See, he likes all kinds of pocket treats.
Which I love. He likes pocket turtles.
Yes, he makes pocket everything popular.
You can tell, Dawn, that we've been putting our
mitts on these this morning because the plastic's smudgy.
Oh, well, you know what? For good reason,
though folks for good reason
and if you want to try it you do have until Halloween to do so
you're not blocking you're good you're helping us oh there we go
the bakery does have limited
quantities though you can head to any one
of their five locations across southeast Wisconsin to get
yours so now Nick is the time to try it come take
this seat right here again i feel like i'm
get up here like a home shopping network
a kringle model a kringle model well a girl can dream
Well, what a great job that would be.
Are you ready to dig in?
Do you want to split one?
Yeah, let's split one.
Can I use my hands?
Absolutely.
Do you trust that?
I trust you.
I trust your hands.
I trust your cleanliness.
Okay, I'm going to give you the bigger piece.
All right.
Okay.
You can...
All right.
Cheers.
Cheers, my friend.
A toast to the brewers.
To the brewers.
Are we ready to bite in?
Let's do it.
And I just made some hot tea with it, too.
God made that.
I know we're close, but not that close to share high tea.
Not yet.
Give us another year.
This is phenomenal.
This is so good.
I've got to take a sip of this, too.
Oh, my gosh.
It's sweet, but not to the point where it, like, hurts your teeth.
It's not overpowering.
No.
Okay.
So these are available in limited quantities through O&H.
I think this is perfect.
It's, like, the size of, like,
a Hot Pocket or, like, a toaster strudel.
Yeah, like, you can put this in a snack bag
and take it to work and just go to town.
Ask us how we know.
Yeah.
Yeah, you can put it in your little hand warmers of your sweatshirt
when you go to the ballpark.
I don't know if I can put it in my pocket.
It might ruin the suit here.
This is great.
This is great.
These are available now.
You can only get them through Halloween.
Oh, yes.
Which would make sense because they're available through,
what, Game 7 then?
Yes.
Okay.
So now we have a little bit of a hard left, as we say in our business,
because we're going to go to our Andrew Amuzu.
He is tracking some new information that we're getting in.
Andrew from the Marquette University Law School Poll.
Don't worry.
We're going to save some Kringle for you, dear.
I was going to say, you guys are having a good time in the studio.
Of course, this is the season for the World Series,
so we're covering that.
We got that covered.
But last night there was that gubernatorial debate between
Republican Tom Tiffany and Democratic candidates David Crowley.
And even with this Marquette Law School poll that you mentioned,
it says that many voters believe that inflation
and cost of living remain those top issues for voters in Wisconsin.
Of course, that was addressed.
So were topics such as data centers,
transportation funding, and even handling,
even the handling, I should say, of the state's surplus.
We have all that on our website right now for you to check out.
But as mentioned, this was the one and only debate between each
of those candidates, Tom Tiffany and David Crowley.
We will have a variety of things that we will continue
to address throughout the morning.
But among the different topics that were addressed was ICE enforcement.
Here's what I will do.
I will make sure that local, county,
and state law enforcement coordinate with federal law enforcement,
coordinate their actions that way
when a detainer is issued from federal law enforcement
saying there is an illegal alien that has committed a crime,
that federal law enforcement can work seamlessly to remove them.
Because it's best to remove them
when they're in a setting like the county jail,
rather than out in the public.
Would you mandate that by law?
Yes, I believe they should honor detainers
by the federal law enforcement.
We need to follow the law, and as governor, I will enforce the law.
But there are certain priorities I have
when it comes down to ICE being in the state of Wisconsin.
First and foremost, we need to make sure that there are no contracts
when it comes down to our local police departments and our sheriffs.
We hire our local PD and our sheriffs to protect our local communities.
If they can't do their job, which is based off of trust,
how can we make sure that undocumented immigrants will call the police
when they see a fire, when somebody is actually in need,
because we've eroded that trust.
The other thing that we need to make sure that we make sure is in place
when it comes down to ICE is that they cannot wear masks.
They cannot. They must show a badge and they cannot incite fear.
And the latest market poll finds that Crowley
is leading Tiffany in the race for governor.
And as a reminder, the general election is on Tuesday, November 3rd.
Early voting started on October 20th and will go until November 1st.
Back to you in the studio.
Yeah, really interested to hear what those results will show.
Absolutely.
I feel like in a lot of ways,
this election has been overshadowed a little bit by the World Series.
But, you know, it's good for people to pay attention to the candidates
and how they feel about the issues,
because we all have a big decision to make come,
you know, just days after the World Series is set to end.
Totally.
All right, Andrew, thank you.
We'll be right back, but before we go...
Look at this, Nick.
Spooky mini-golf.
Would you try it?
Yeah, I would too.
Yeah.
When the sun is up and clowns are out.
We'll give you a spooky look, though, at the...
We don't do the clowns.
No, uh-huh.
We will do a spooky VIP lounge paired with mini-golf
and maybe what you can find inside that lounge.
Next.
Good morning, everybody.
Yes, we are in a good Friday mood, even though it's not Friday yet.
Feels like it.
It feels like it because game one is right around the corner, Nick.
One more sleep.
Game one of the World Series.
It's so close we can taste it.
Oh, for sure.
We were just tasting the pocket Kringles that were dropped off.
Derricka, we saved you a piece.
Oh, you know we saved you some.
Did you save me one?
Absolutely.
It's cheesecake.
You're going to love it.
It's so good.
Oh, and they're individually packaged.
Our fingers didn't touch yours.
You know my heart.
Yep.
You know my heart.
I'm excited.
And I love how everybody's getting on the bandwagon, though, of,
you know, novelties in the past and even creating some new ones.
As we're all just looking forward to celebrating
the World Series here in our area.
It's a beautiful show.
Unfortunately, we lost Derek's microphone.
I'm so sorry.
I hate that this happened.
Technology doing what it does best, fail.
I know.
We will be checking back in with her in a little bit once we get
those audio issues ironed out.
But for now, let's check in with the weather.
Don't taunt the robots, though, Dotto.
Well, we'll get to the weather in just a minute,
but I think we need to get to this really quickly.
Thank you, Don.
Yes, that's okay.
A lot of moving parts here.
County leaders are saying the World Series could
be a record breaker for travel at the Waukesha County Airport.
Wonderful.
So much so that it's expected to surpass annual events like EAA.
I could see it.
Additional parking is being planned for the extra planes.
They're also looking at solutions for hotels and restaurants.
Good for Waukesha.
That's great.
Yeah, there we go.
And if you are heading to the big game
or plan to buy tickets for another one,
excuse me, the Better Business Bureau is warning fans to avoid scams.
They say hackers and artificial intelligence
have gotten better with their schemes,
but you can't avoid their tricks, folks.
For starters, use official websites or accredited resale marketplaces.
They say experts say using social media
or Craigslist carries a risk that you don't want to take.
Yeah, and more impacts from game one.
We're learning more about how the Wisconsin high school playoff games
are now scheduling around the Brewers.
Oh, my gosh, I didn't think about this.
This weekend is round one.
Over 200 teams will take to the field.
But since the Brew play at 7 p.m., some teams are opting to play
at a later time so that they can watch and support the Brew crew.
So we spoke to the assistant director of the WIAA for clarity on this.
And here's what he had to say.
Schools have the opportunity and flexibility
in our season regulations to come to a mutual agreement.
to make some potential modifications,
whether that be move the contest to Saturday with a start time
somewhere between 1 and 7 p.m. or modify their start time on Friday.
The schools can work together
based on mutual agreement to potentially make
that change if they feel it's appropriate and
fits their situation. Makes sense.
So the assistant director said teams can elect to
play at an earlier time Friday
or play on Saturday between 1 and 7 p.m. Of course,
there has to be a mutual agreement among the two teams.
But you know what?
If the Bucks are doing this for their home opener,
I guess why wouldn't the high schools?
Fair.
Makes sense.
That's right.
You want everybody watching the game,
not like you were saying before,
you know, watching the phone instead
of their kiddo out there on the field.
All right, we want you to watch the screen right now
as we play Home or Away.
Let's see.
Where is this cam?
What do you think?
Is that a beautiful little lake here in Wisconsin or down in Florida?
Shoot.
What do you think?
What do you think?
I don't know, Wisconsin.
It is Florida, Lakeland, Lakeland.
Yes, you got it, Don.
It's Lakeland.
No, no, I didn't get it, unfortunately.
I just realized it was Lakeland when he put up the advertising.
Well, we get it right.
Now look at the views.
It is amazing how our two states,
if given the right point of view, don't look all that dissimilar.
But back here at home, we've got a little bit of fog to deal with,
not so much in our immediate area,
but certainly in the northeast, up around Green Bay,
Sturgeon Bay, the Maconto area, definitely very socked in.
But then we've got these beautiful views
as we check out our Kenosha cam this morning.
And it's not nearly as foggy here at home,
although briefly it was in the parts of Jefferson and Dodge County.
Now, there's a warm front that we're tracking that's going to lift
its way north of us and keep us very mild for the day today.
And really for the next several days.
Let's go look ahead with Sky Vision Plus.
Now, short term, again, we have that little bit of fog.
And then it's sunshine, a little breeze off
the lake to keep things a little cooler.
A few more clouds overnight tonight and into our Friday morning,
and maybe another round of early morning fog.
From the exclusive Fox weather model statewide point of view,
you'll see a nice, easy-going day today.
By late Friday, some showers move in up north,
so if you're headed up to the cabin, heads up there.
But we stay dry here at home.
That's kind of the case throughout the weekend.
There'll be beautiful stretches up north if you
are going to check out the fall foliage or whatever.
But down here at home, we will continue with the beautiful stretches,
and we'll keep it dry wall-to-wall through the weekend.
In fact, we might not see any of this rain until later in the day,
maybe even more like Monday night.
Now, in the meantime, very mild as well.
Mid-60s lakeside, some low-70s inland,
down into the upper 40s and low-50s overnight tonight.
Well above the climate normals of 59 and 43, not breaking any records.
Now, our sunrise was at 714 today, setting at 558,
which of course seems rather late for the sunrise
and really early for the sunset,
but that's about to change. Of course, Halloween weekend, we fall back,
and by November 1st, we'll have a sunrise at 626 in the morning,
and it'll set at 443.
All right, so in the days ahead here,
we are going to get a course correction.
Enjoy the next several very mild, very comfortable days.
Great for both Game 1 and Game 2.
But the cold front comes through.
We start to cool down heading into early and mid parts of next week.
We stay cooler as we go into late next week.
But it looks like we might turn things back up,
at least get more seasonal,
maybe slightly warmer than average
as we get close to our Halloween day.
So our Fox 6 Day Planner starts off at 70 with 60s lakeside,
72 and 60s lakeside on Friday, 72 on Saturday.
Game one and game two couldn't be much better weather.
We've got 74 on Sundays.
We celebrate, hopefully, back-to-back Brewers wins.
And then reality, 50s kicking in Monday and Tuesday.
Reality is right.
My goodness, this stretch here is stunning.
Okay, dressing up as a VIP for Halloween, if that's you,
we've got the place that you can go and show off that costume.
Izzy Santiago joining us live once again with her VIP costume
with a really neat new mini-golf that's scary
that's coming this weekend to Henry Maier Festival Park.
Okay, so tell us about the RIP Lounge.
Yeah, absolutely.
So the RIP Lounge is an upgrade
that anybody can add on to their ticket.
It's just a $15 upgrade, and there's a couple fun things
that are specific just to our RIP guests.
So you get this cool RIP Lounge with specific seating for just you
and whoever's in your group.
There's also some charging stations over here
that if you need to charge your phone

while you're on the course you can charge your phone before
getting on course A or course B and then you
also get a private bar over here that anybody else
really can't access except for you with fun cocktails
that you can choose from and order from
and just a really cool fun experience with a cool photo op
that no one else really gets to check out
unless you're a VIP guest yeah kind of a nice place
to just sort of take a break relax you know
know, sit down, charge your phone, get a drink.
It's a great idea. How do folks get tickets to
this? Yeah, absolutely.
So Ticket Tailor is where you can get tickets for it.
You can also upgrade
at that time too. As you see,
you can grab some of these really cool drinks as well. And all of
our RIP members and guests today
and throughout Haunted Mini Golf will also get one of those
really cool light up skull cups.
It's just one of those VIP perks. Okay. Can you walk me through
really quick here. Is he the drinks that I'm looking at?
Yeah, absolutely. So this blue one
here up in the corner is our zombie.
It's a Bacardi based drink. We also have enchanted.
We have the Conjuring. We have Witches Brew.
We have lots of different fun and creative Halloween
themed cocktails that you could choose from.
Oh my gosh. I think everybody loves a good themed
festive cocktail. Those look delicious.

adventure here. I know this is going on this weekend
and next weekend. Should they book
