from the area in Levine where this all happened.
Nicole. Yeah, good evening Mark and Christina.
The words on this banner that Bree's family put up forever
in our hearts showcase the love they feel for her as they seek answers
and closure. She was definitely a light.
She walked into a room and she just light up.
Family of Renisha Bree Talbert have no shortage
of fond memories of the 32 year old.
She was like my music buddy, especially in my family.
She's very energetic, playful, she's smart, she be trying to brag.
She's bilingual, she be speaking in different languages.
We definitely will shop together, we're both into hair.
I wish she was good at that.
Got me makeup and I do a man, a hot person.
Brie was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road mid-block
near 59th Avenue and Baseline Road on the evening of October 12th.
Vaquanese Johnson was helping her son fix a flat tire nearby
when she says a motorcycle sped past.
Shortly after, she says she heard another motorcycle.
And as it was getting ready to accelerate,
you heard there was a collision.
Johnson has nursing experience and quickly sprung into action.
I was able to assess her and seeing that she took
a really hard impact on her right side.
Johnson says she could tell the injuries were severe
and she did her best to comfort Bree.
I laid her head in my lap.
I assessed and I told her and I was talking to her. I said,
okay, I'm here. I got you. I need you to stay, stay together.
Johnson says when police arrived, she was not asked for a statement.
When she later saw a post about Bree and realized she knew her family,
Johnson says she wanted to share what
she had seen and heard that night.
The motorcyclist did stay on scene,
according to Johnson and Phoenix police,
and didn't show signs of impairment.
Meanwhile, Bree's family says they're not able to find closure yet.
This should not have happened to her,
and she should not be walking around like,
oh, nothing happened. Something happened.
All I know is I'm getting ready to bury my daughter.
And the family has a GoFundMe up there trying
to raise money to lay Bree to rest in San Diego,
where she was born and raised before she moved here
to Phoenix we have a link to that GoFundMe
