AI GeneratedDaybreaker is a global movement hosting a sober morning dance party in San Francisco's Redwood Park. This Halloween-themed event replaces traditional nightlife with a high-energy, alcohol-free experience featuring yoga, live music, and multi-generational dancing to energize participants for the rest of their day.
All right. Forget late night clubbing
and those Sunday morning hangovers. There is a global
movement that's flipping the script on going out and having fun.
It's happening in San Francisco
this weekend. Tomorrow, Daybreaker,
the wildly popular sober morning dance party, is taking over
the newly renovated Redwood Park at the foot
of the Transamerica Pyramid tomorrow for a Halloween
themed party. Let's welcome in Mustafa Khan,
founder and lead event producer of San Francisco's
Daybreaker. Good morning. Yeah, good morning.
Good morning. Morning is a good time to go out
and party, I guess. I have become a morning person, yes.
I guess so. Well, those that aren't
familiar with Daybreaker, it's been around for over a decade,
and people are loving it. Tell
us about it. Yeah, so it's a very unique party experience.
So basically, imagine all the fun of
going to a night out, energy, all this energy,
all these happy people dancing, great music,
But what if it was at 10 a.m. Or 11 a.m. Yeah, that's daybreaker.
Yeah, and no alcohol
Yeah, so no no booze. So no one's tipsy
and I think what's great is by the end of the event
You have more energy or like ready
for brunch, you know, so yeah, no booze
It's like doing yoga in the morning, you know, by the way,
you're doing spooky yoga to where you know, yes, exactly
Yeah, what is that? Like it's gonna
be maybe some moves you've never done before, you know
You might be stretching maybe some joints.
You've never stretched before
It's a good time and I might hear
a little ghost story or two during yoga
Okay, well, give us the lowdown.
We're seeing some video here, but it starts at 10.
What can people expect?
Yeah, so from 10 to 11, yoga experience is going to get you grounded.
You're going to kind of decompress a little bit.
Then 11 a.m. to 1, it's going to be just a wild two-hour dance party.
So we're going to have a DJ with live musicians,
so trumpet, sax, trombone, playing with the DJ.
We're going to have some fun surprises.
We're going to have maybe someone in a giant bear costume,
you know, walking around the Redwoods and all that.
So it's going to be a really good time for all ages.
I hear there's a surprise performance.
There's going to be a few little things.
One thing we do is...
You want to let that loose now or just let them show up?
You've got to show up on this.
You've got to show up.
Can you give us a hint?
Well, we're going to have, let's see,
maybe some acrobatic performances throughout the dance party.
And then at the very end, after all the dancing,
two hours of just like nonstop dancing,
we actually let everyone hear a little live performance.
They're going to hear some acoustic instruments,
some singing in the Redwoods.
Yeah. Dancing, to get people on a dance floor,
you know, you think back to high school and no one's
drinking then, but maybe a drink breaks the ice to kind of let it go
and get out there. How do
you get people at 10 o'clock in the morning,
no alcohol, but just let it go? I think one unique
thing is when you walk in, you get the option of a hug,
like a warm hug or a high five. And people
are pretty surprised by that.
Like, wow, what a like warm way, what a nice welcome. And then if
you see a dance floor full of just all these smiling humans
and they're just getting down, you want
to be part of that so some people have never
really danced without alcohol before and they're
coming to our event and they're surprised
who is coming, what generations younger middle older what
kind of people are showing you know what's wild like it's actually
a multi-generational really
and there's not that many events like that i think maybe
a wedding is the only place where you get
the dance yeah right where you get everyone dancing
but it's a little bit of everything
that time yeah people are bringing
their kids people even bringing their own parents so if
people from uh you know six years old
to like senior citizens so it's pretty wild yeah
Wow. And no alcohol, no nothing. Just get out there and let it rip.
And you mentioned kids are welcome, right?
Yes. So I have a seven-year-old. She's going to be there.
I think she's right over there.
She's over there. Yeah. Hey, Nova.
Hi, Nova. She's waving.
Yeah, exactly. So people bring, yeah, their kids,
sometimes they bring babies with little headphones and all that. Yeah.
That is excellent. And it goes till one o'clock
and it's just a big party.
And after that, you go out and, I guess, beat the world down.
You're going to be so jacked up, right?
You've got your whole afternoon ahead of you,
your whole evening ahead of you.
Yeah, exactly, yeah.
Okay, I think we've got ticket information,
but you do need tickets, right?
Yeah, you've got to get a ticket.
Yeah, go to Daybreaker's website,
yeah, and then we'll welcome you, yeah.
All right, well, get a lot of rest, okay?
Mustafa, we appreciate it.
