Phoenix hit-and-run: Driver sought in fatal crash

Well, it is silent witness Saturday. Detective Mike Fisher joining us with details on a case that they need help solving. Good morning, Mr. Fisher. Good morning, Ty. Let's talk about this. This is a fatal hit and run that happened April of 26. What's going on with this one? Yeah, this this crime occurred April 21st of this year at around 10 20 p.m. in the area of 20th Avenue and Indian School. And what we have here is the victim. She was 79 years old at the time she was crossing the street and she got struck by a black Cherokee, a Jeep Cherokee and this vehicle we're seeing the victim's photo here on the screen that's Vivian Hunter and um the vehicle that hit her a black Cherokee that we're also seeing on the screen this vehicle took off didn't even stop per the witnesses they just said this vehicle hit the victim and it just kept going westbound on Indian School and you know it's it's sad that we have a case like this but it seems like they occur like almost on a weekly basis sure and we just want to ask you know the pedestrians when they're crossing the streets to make sure that it's safe to do so use crosswalks use the light if possible you know the street lights and you can imagine I mean 10 20 p.m. It was dark, and this vehicle was probably speeding, didn't see the victim crossing the street, and she died from her injuries. And anyone with information, we're asking for them to call, sign a witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish, and we're offering a reward of up to $2,000 in this case. And probably, there's probably some front-end damage to that Jeep, too, you would imagine, right? Exactly. When our detectives showed up to the scene or any scene, they always find evidence. In this case, you know, they may have found pieces of the light, the headlight, the windshield. For sure, it was busted up when the victim hit it. And those are the little things that we ask. Like sometimes people working at a shop, they may remember around April, May, somebody going to their shop with a black Cherokee that looks like this, asking for an estimate. Or a parts department also that may remember somebody was in there looking for parts, front end parts, especially for a Jeep Cherokee, black in color. And those are the little things that we ask. Anyone with information, don't think that it's not important, just call us up. You can call, you can submit the info online also or through your phone. And any information that we get, it's all anonymous and we pass it on to the assigned detective and they look into it. every tip we get they they look into it all right perfect and again if you want to see this case again or look at some of the other cases that we have covered all you have to do is go to our website fox10news.com detective thank you thank you guys
