Austin hit 81 degrees earlier today and temperatures will stay
in the 70s or drop into the 70s, I should say,
through 9 or 10 p.m., eventually into the 60s after midnight
and we'll end up with a low temperature between 60 and 62 degrees.
Some upper 50s are possible,
especially across portions of the hill country.
We have a lot of clouds out there, though, tonight, and that may limit
our cooling effect as far as the low temperatures are concerned.
But most of our models do expect us to be slightly drier tonight.
than it was this morning,
we had higher humidity and the low temperature in
Austin only dipped to 63 degrees at Camp Mabry.
I'm expecting about three or
four degrees cooler potentially
for an overnight low tonight, provided we can
clear out a little bit
with that drier air move in. Upper fifties, low
sixties will be common here in the city.
Then tomorrow we're gonna rebound
again during the afternoon
with high temperatures that top out in the lower
eighties. Our satellite and radar showing a lot of moisture in the mid
and upper levels, but not much at the low levels to bring us any rain.
A couple of spotty showers
around Corpus Christi and Brownsville,
and we also have some showers up in the Panhandle and
extending back into far west Texas.
We had reports of hail and a lot of flooding concerns, parts of
New Mexico, far west Texas, out around El Paso,
areas that don't typically experience a lot of
rainfall this time of year.
Coming closer to home, of course, we're shielded by clouds tonight.
that will continue they're moving from south to north
so far no precipitation locally all the
heaviest rain today has been across
the Texas Panhandle around Amarillo areas north and west
of Lubbock and also into Colorado
and portions of New Mexico some significant flooding reported
in portions of Colorado
and northern New Mexico the past few days especially around Alamosa
Pagosa Springs, Wolf Creek Pass,
for those who know that area, and South Fork in Colorado.
Now for us locally, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday, we've got improving rain chances.
I think we'll be dry again another day for us here tomorrow.
But on Tuesday, we get close enough
to introduce at least a few showers and storms.
Wednesday, same thing.
And then this is showing a lot heavier rainfall potentially,
especially south and west of Austin for Thursday.
That will be a day to watch as we see
a disturbance approaching our area.
and that could bring us some locally
heavy rainfall parts of the hill country.
High-resolution models show us trying to clear out,
and if we do, 50s will occur overnight tonight.
Some spotty showers mainly in the hill country tomorrow,
but most of us likely remaining dry here.
The rest of Texas also seeing those showers and storms continuing,
but again, mainly to our west.
So as we look at our seven-day forecast,
I've got us down to 59 for an overnight low tonight.
Should be a little bit cooler and daytime highs will actually top out
in the lower 80s one more day low
to mid 80s tomorrow provided we get sunshine and there we are just kind
of stuck in spring for a while with pretty good chance of showers off
and on throughout the week not continuous rain but just opportunity
so some areas again may get skipped but we do have the chance.
You say stuck in spring like it's a bad thing.
