BILT HARD 22 Ton Gas Log Splitter! I’ve always wanted a log splitter!

Hey guys, how you doing? It's Henry at Mowers and Growers. Welcome to another episode. As you guys have seen from my previous episodes where I collect wood from my neighbor and I'm stocking up for this winter, next winter, and the winters after that. I'd run out of firewood from last winter, so I needed to replenish my wood supply. So while I did get the wood supply, it would take me a hundred years to manually chop those logs so I could have burnable wood. And what did I always say? I could sure use a log splitter, a gas one, not any of those electric ones where hydraulic lines blow because it's just too much pressure it requires. I need a gas one, at least 22 tons. And guess what? My new friends over at Built Hard sent me exactly that. This is a 22 ton gas log splitter it came in four boxes because this thing is huge one of four two of four three of four four of four i gotta unpack all this stuff and put it together it may take a while so i'll put you on time lapse holy cow it took me a long time just to unpack it i want to say this first and foremost they packed this stuff really well to ensure that there was no damage during shipping and as far as i could see everything was really well packed it had wood pieces all around it and this cushioned cardboard put everything back into those boxes again so this is the main base i guess with a tube here and that's a stopper and that's an arm or tongue here's the main cylinder for the hydraulics a few crush washers just come out of the box out this package but other than that it was really well packed two instruction manuals one for the log splitter itself and one for the engine it did come with four-stroke engine oil as well as a big jug of two and a half gallons of hydraulic oil two wheels inflated with bearings and here is your horizontal shaft engine which i would think is a pump over there this engine is shipped without oil do not start the engine before adding said oil as you can see it looks just like a Honda clone engine built hard 209 cc four-stroke here's the main part of a log splitter that's like the axe or the cutting blade if you will I think it's upside down so as you guys know from my videos I never read instructions so my neighbor Steve is out here and he says let's just put it together without reading the instructions like you always do and then i'm like well hydraulic cylinder kind of scares me i've never really done hydraulics before so i want to make sure i put it together correctly so i'm gonna browse through the instructions they look pretty easy and we're just gonna put this together i'll put you on time lapse all right that's my neighbor steve he helped me put it together as you saw in time lapse take that long how would you how long would you say an hour an hour so an hour and the instructions are decent i hope i put all the bolts on nice and tight how does it look to you fellas good leave it in the comments what you guys think so far i think it's built hard it's built okay so i added 2.5 gallons of hydraulic oil in here and we replaced the plastic dipstick nut with this metal one it has a long dipstick in there that you can measure we put 20 ounces or 0.6 liters of motor oil in there i believe it's SAE 30 we have not done anything yet other than that so here we go we're going to start it up for the very first time i'm so excited as a matter of fact i want to show you this thing here so it has a linchpin here you can take this linchpin off and this leg arm here retracts down here so that you can use that you can use this tractor to pull this around which is very cool this is not very sharp but i mean i guess it's just the pressure in psi that the hydraulic ram will split these three sample pieces of wood now just a little background that piece right there is probably two years old so it's really dry these two here were just cut recently from my mom's house that's a thinner one that i want to try and this is very wet like if you feel that part right there it's very wet so we're going to start this up let it run for a little bit and then we'll try those three pieces there so exciting all right just like a honda clone engine auto choke this has to be on rabbits okay here we go okay okay i'll go now they're all probably sitting in front of the tv going you hurry up you gotta run before you crawl all right hey the fuel shut off was off you can connect this to your lawn tractor and move it around i just used one hand and it's so well balanced and you can just move it with your hands okay got the built hard log splitter fired up first round complete gonna start doing this pile i've stacked up the already cut wood into these nice little cords let's see how fast we get through these well there we go i finally decided to stop because i finished the entire second pile of logs and i was just starting on that and i'm like i need to quit because it's so addicting had such a good time look at this huge piles of wood ready to stack on my cord there got so much done today what we did today would have taken me two years to do it by hand and thanks to the built hard 22 ton gas log splitter i did this in just a couple hours i'm so impressed with it if you've got lots of wood like i do don't take two years manually splitting it do it in an afternoon it took me about two hours to clear my entire two stacks there now i've got a big pile of freshly cut wood ready to burn for this winter i'm so impressed with this thing i was having so much fun it wasn't even work if you guys would like to check out the 22 ton gas log splitter from built hard they don't just have this they have electric ones they have smaller ones medium size and even really heavy duty ones go check out their website.
