System was freezing up, traced problem to blower motor. Replaced with rescue motor. #hvac #hvaclife #fieldpiece #makita #carrier #ecm #X-13
This customer called and said his system was
freezing up and I immediately saw that it was
flooding back
and I did not think
the blower fixing
to get into that.
There's
my air handler
right there.
All right first I see that this is a carrier 2014 system
and somebody has written
I've got an X13, so I'm just going
to see what's going on.
The
cabinet
is
soaked.
X13s are really easy to diagnose compared
to some of the other ECMs.
I can't get my nut driver on with that.
Somebody drove that in with an impact.
You can see it's got
an angle.
Forgive me if I turned you all upside down.
I can see that motor
just wobbling just
a tiny little bit.
Do you all hear that?
hmm so uh we know it's
getting voltage but
i'm still gonna there's
a you gotta check
you
know i'm
looking
for a
disconnect
i
do not
see one
lights
onboard
on two
let's
get
a call look on this nameplate
horsepower all right so i can
either replace this with another
ECM or a PSC I know this he just bought
this house not too long ago so i know it's not
be under warranty seven years old
and new homeowners so no it's not under warranty
so i think
i'm gonna
go ahead
and pull
this out i'm
trying not
to get shot
while i got
that out
we
got
full
voltage
PCM
for
this
my
truck
will
give
him
the
option
of a
PSC
so
we'll
see
and
here i just verified half horsepower
4.1 amp 1050 rpm all right
this is what we opted for this is
the X13 replacement rescue motor
and as you can see half horsepower 1075 208 230. i don't have my
camera with me today i have i'm filming with my phone
so um forgive me if we don't get this but
I'll try to get video when I put it in, all right we got
our power hooked up and this is going to
be my low voltage when it
power's up, it's going to start
rotating one direction
I'm going to stop and
go the other direction, it uses torque and amp draw to tell
which direction it's supposed to be going
I'm just
going
to put
this back
together
and we're
going
to check
pressures
outside
all right, this one turned out good, this is a little bit high
I waited a while and started to stabilize, took that one
while we're here, thanks for watching
