Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe speaker reviews the Makita XDT-16 impact driver, explaining why it is his preferred tool for HVAC work. While other brands offer more power, he values the Makita for its compact size and superior customizability, specifically the ability to program a quick-access button to prevent stripping screws in delicate materials.
I appreciate all the concerns people have had about my absence
for the last three days, but trust me, nothing's wrong.
I want to share with y'all a video where I do a review on a tool
y'all have seen me use many times before. It's the Makita XDT-16.
now makita has not sponsored any part
of this um nobody has sponsored any of my videos as of so far
but i want to explain why i like this one
so much i've had my hands on the dewalt 877
and i actually gave it away
because i didn't like it i've been able to use the milwaukee gen 3
impact all of them have more power
and more speed than anything we need in the HVAC industry
what I like about this is the customizability
of what you can do with it I'll try to get this
where you can see it you got four speeds here
then you got two tightening modes and two tech
modes that's tech one and um I'll try
to show you it stops after three impacts but even that
sometimes is too much for sheet metal screws it'll strip them out
so what I do I was able to
program this button right here
to just be speed one
and as you can see it's a lot slower and
you're much less likely to strip out screws if you hit
the button again it goes back to the previous
let's put it on four so I'm hitting this button it goes
to my programmed mode which is speed one
hit it again it goes to the previous mode
which is speed four now there are times when we need a
lot of speed and um power out of our impacts
and this has more than enough to meet those demands
i've been able to turn these i have broken
a chuck ripped it completely in half with this impact not
not this one but the same model but i like this one
because i can change speeds with one hand
without having to set it down
and use another hand to change the speed like i had to with the 877
if i'm working and holding something i can just hit the button
and it automatically changes this
is one of my favorite tools
and i plan on doing some videos of some of my other favorite tools
but this is the top of the line 18 volt impact i have
not used the 40 volt but i've seen some
specs on it and it's just a little bit bigger
this one is so short it's as short as some of
the old angle grinders not angle grinders
but the angle drills that we used to have um i love it
it's just one of my my favorite tools
and i wanted to explain why i like it so much and that's just
one of the reasons i continue to use
and support makita don't forget to like and subscribe more
videos on the way see you tomorrow
