Every vendor sets up their table hoping
for a smooth day of buying, selling, and trading.
But some customers have very different plans.
From lowball offers and fake cards to full-blown crash outs,
here are the times when Pokémon card vendor deals went terribly wrong.
Kicking things off with this guy, who walked up to a vendor's table
and started flipping through his cards like any other customer.
But it didn't take long for things to get suspicious.
Because
every time
the vendor
looked
away,
another card would disappear behind the customer's phone.
But what he didn't know was that the vendor
had been watching this entire time. Over $100 worth
of cards were hiding behind that phone,
and he still tried to play it off like he was texting a friend.
Luckily, the vendor got every
single one of them back.
Now this kid walked up to a vendor's booth with a binder full of cards
that he wanted to trade,
and he already had two picked out.
But the second the vendor took a
closer look, something didn't add up,
so he asked the kid one simple question.
Admitting your cards
are fake right to the vendor's face is a bold strategy,
and the second he was told to rip them
up he was gone but he wasn't the only kid
at a card show trying to make a deal on his own terms
because this little girl walked up to a vendor's booth
with a graded Charizard card and she had
already decided it was worth exactly three hundred
dollars oh shoot unfortunately they're not that
rich and when the vendor tried to negotiate she made him
do something no other customer has ever
asked a vendor
to do. Making
a grown man open
his wallet
to prove he can
afford your card
is wild,
and she was pretty rude about the whole thing.
And after all that, she still walked away without
her $300. Now this next buyer had been eyeing
a Tatsugiri illustration rare at a card show in
Virginia and after looking it over he was finally ready
to make the vendor an offer. He offered $20
which is right around market price
so this should have been the easiest deal of the day. But the
second the vendor stopped to
think about it this happened.
The vendor didn't even get
the chance to
answer before the buyer was gone
and judging by his reaction he still has no idea what just
happened. Now this grandpa had the opposite problem
because he found a graded card priced
at $28 and he was determined to walk away with it for 20 bucks,
no matter how many times the
vendor said no. The vendor
even offered him a coin flip,
but grandpa was not having it.
so he tried a different approach coin flip 20 40. i can't
do 20 on that i'm sorry
i can't i can't this is fair it what
was that you got she confident at 30. what's your best
i'll just hold on to it then i'll just hold on to it
then we can do a coin flip 25 35.
That one for 25 and that one for 20.
I can't, I'm sorry.
Be nice.
I am being nice.
I know, nice ahead.
I can't do 20 though, I'm sorry, I can't.
It's only grade 9.
25.
I have to be like at 28.
Ah, you can be the whole day at all the numbers.
Ah, you can be the whole day at all the numbers.
That card comps at $30, so the vendor
was already giving him a deal,
and he still stayed
polite the entire time.
Next up, this customer had his eye on two cards
that added up to $185, and instead of
paying it all in cash he wanted to use
his Hydreigon EX to bring the price down so that'd be
185 you can do 166 i'll give them
to you both since the vendor takes
in trades at 80% the 45
dollar Hydreigon brought the price down to 150
so he said yes but the second the numbers worked out
the customer changed the deal i can do the Hydreigon
and 150 i can do the Hydreigon and 150
That's right on.
I'm saying, like, this on $150, and I'll trade this.
Yes, you'll get those for $150 if you throw in the Hydreigon.
Like, you're saying you want to trade me
the Hydreigon for those two cards plus cash, right?
Yes.
That's what that would be.
This is at $150.
Those are $185.
Your card is $45, right?
Mark it.
I take trades in at 80%.
So 80% of $45 is $36.
now if we take 36, 185 minus that 36
that puts it right at 150, I can do that I'm saying
this if you value these two on 150
which i won't, that's that is what i'm asking can you do that
i can value them at 150 if you trade me the high dragon
but otherwise those are 185
and that's it no no it's not how it's gonna work he had
that exact deal he asked for and
still tried to squeeze out more,
so he ended up walking away with nothing at all. But something
similar happened at this next vendor's table,
when a customer asked for a whole package of
cards at 90% of market price, and the vendor agreed to it.
quick yeah i think the comp on that was like 42
so or 90 is that or maybe 39 i can't remember i
just had the math up but when the vendor tried
to take two cards out of the bundle the customer did
not take it well really I
just I just looked it up on TCG
do you mind if I like if
I'm like I don't know if I want to do this for 90 I put it to the side
I'll throw them back in the bag.
Okay.
And we're just giving out birthday peeks.
Dude, you know that.
You know that.
All right, don't worry about it.
I'll pack.
Because of the birthday pick up?
No, it's fine.
What?
It's fine, it's fine.
We're gonna take out all the good ones.
All the good ones?
What are you talking about?
I took out two.
I took out two.
I took out two.
It's fine.
I'm just saying, it's fine.
Bro, if I, the two of these would be the thing that,
if I throw them back in, you'll do what you're saying?
Yes.
Bro.
Can I add it up?
All right, let me add it up.
Let me just add it up really quick and look at the, look at the total.
Four seventy, bro?
Sure.
I had no hard feelings, man.
No, I, well, you were about to dip so fast.
You could have just, you should have just.
It's been a long day, bro.
I was having a good week.
No, no, no, that's all, that's all good, bro.
But I was like, you gotta just say that instead of.
Asking for 90% and then telling
the vendor he's wrong about his own prices is a bold move.
To his credit, though, he did come back later to apologize
and the deal still went through.
Now, this next customer asked to see a Charmeleon from a vendor's case.
and he wanted to flip a coin for it
to get it for either $40 or nothing.
But when the vendor said no,
the way the customer handed
the card back
made sure that that answer was never changing.
Because one, you threw the card down,
and two, I don't split the family.
Oh, so it's a set.
I love my cards.
I don't appreciate people throwing it just because like,
you know, these went from a person's home and it's just like,
I don't think that's cool.
But yeah, I'd probably have you walk.
Yeah, yeah.
I think that was very rude, but yeah.
Tossing someone's card back at them is the fastest way to end any deal,
in that Charmeleon was part of a set that the vendor
was never going to split up anyways.
But he wasn't the only customer
who couldn't keep his hands off of vendors' cards,
because this group of collectors stopped at a vendor's table
and pulled his Moonbreon right out of its sleeve without asking,
and the vendor made sure they knew how he felt about it.
You got a Moonbreon.
Ooh, it's pretty good.
What's the condition of the Moonbreon?
We have a three.
they said
that they were
only checking
the condition
but the vendor
was not
buying it,
and the mood never recovered.
Pulling a card
that expensive out of its
sleeve without asking is never okay,
but some people in the comments thought this vendor was
overreacting. Let us know what you guys think.
Now this vendor sells his elite trainer boxes at MSRP,
Which sounds like a great deal
and an absolute heaven for any Pokemon collector
But he has one rule to make sure that none of them get scalped
Hey guys, how's it going?
Oh, so we sell them at MSRP
However, we are anti-scalper
So we do have to cut the seal if you did want to buy it
Okay, so you're just gonna cut like a little seal in it then?
Yeah, yeah, yeah
We just have to make sure that you don't resell it
Okay, so you're saying I'm a scalper or anything?
Oh, no, nonsense
You don't look like a scalper at all
That's fine
Yeah, so at least $50 is MSRP
The buyer promised that he wasn't a scalper,
so the vendor took his 50 bucks and handed over the
box, just
not the way he expected.
I've seen a lot of ways to stop
scalpers, but never one this
fast. And while these deals have been wild so far,
make sure to keep watching because these stakes
only get higher from here.
This next seller brought an incomplete Crown Zenith Master Set
to a vendor, binder and all, hoping to sell the whole thing at once.
The vendor only asked if
everything was on a list,
since the commons aren't worth much, but the seller took it a
completely different way.
Getting mad at a vendor for buying to resell?
Come on man,
that's literally the whole job.
This next seller also showed up with a binder, but he valued his
at four thousand dollars with slabs
and an Umbreon included and the vendor had no way to
check if it was really worth that much are you selling
this are you selling these do you have
a price on the whole binder okay yeah the slabs
are oh these are included what price do you have
the slabs at then compared to the binder i don't
know it's just 4k total off of the binder
separately how much is the value i don't know i mean
the Umbreon on here is probably the big one
either i gotta price it all up
or you gotta let me know you know it just takes too long how about
we value these out it's worth 4k we need
to check it yeah i need to double check these prices
are you dude that's 1700 anyway that's 300
so let's say 2k just for those two and that means
the rest of it would be 1600. i feel like i'm probably
a bit high for the rest of this you know
with the moon briar alone worth about 1700 bucks
the vendor tried to figure out what the rest of
the binder was really worth i could probably
do like two eight i think two nine three i'm just
trusting you i don't know if it's worth 4k you know i have
no clue oh if you have a list then
then you should have brought me
that straight away oh okay i don't have the comprehensive list
got you got you offering 2900 without being able
to check the value himself was more than fair
and a simple price list would have settled
this whole thing in seconds now next up this vendor
offered a customer just 60% of market for his victini
and the customer could not believe what
he was hearing 60% it's a card i've been chasing
for a minute 60% come back if you you know if you
don't get a better offer. But it turns out
that the vendor was trolling the whole time to call
out vendors who still lowball at 60%
which makes the situation a whole lot funnier. However,
what happened in this next clip was very real.
When this buyer offered $16.75 for every loose
sun and moon pack on a vendor's table,
only $25 under their asking price.
He was already paying more than almost anybody would,
but the seller would not move on a single
dollar. He says that they even agreed
to the deal off camera before telling him to get lost,
but he got the last laugh by pulling two SARs
from dollar packs right after. But while that
deal fell apart over 25 bucks,
this next customer was convinced that a vendor's prices were double
because he was pricing this vendor skyridge cards
with apps that are terrible for vintage
and even after the vendor showed him where to look he refused to budge
so far these are these are double comps what
are you looking at oh we're using price turning
all three of those are horrible for vintage
the best vintage app to use is TCGplayer
so i'll show you right here this is that you're selling
a product say what that's other vendors
no okay so show me well Pineco is 42 40 40. that's reverse
so click on one of those
during pricing that's at six that's last month
the vendor pulled up sales to prove his prices
were fair but the customer had his own comp from eBay
because these don't sell often
we just pulled that one off of eBay that's good yeah
no no like it was it sold sooner and it was
a lot less that's what i'm saying yeah
that's fine i mean eBay has a different market july 9
this is 21 bucks right
and you can just see i mean there's all here it's probably it's eBay
sales so eBay sales are going to be 99% of your market
because that's just eBay so that one's LP
so that's why i i don't go off of eBay
their their average prices are not accurate and near
Mint Pineco Reverse Hollow really does sell for around $40,
so comparing it to a lightly played
eBay sale just doesn't work.
Eventually, the customer dropped the deal and walked away.
Things got a lot more heated
when none other than Nick White was streaming live from his booth,
and the vendor next to him gave a customer two free packs.
But this fight was really about the table
because Nick paid $1,000 for it and he said
that the other vendors kept using his space.
You took my whole table.
You took, no, you took my whole table.
The last collector, does he encroach on your table?
Does he put all his stuff on your table?
Oh, well, he takes his sign with the QR codes.
He puts his binder all over my table.
He puts everything on my table.
I come here today.
He spread eagle all over my table.
So I say, hey, get off my table.
I paid $1,000.
You split the price between yours.
So you paid for this portion.
If you want to pay for this portion, this is my table.
That is the point.
You want to take advantage of my kindness by saying,
oh, Nick White's not going to do anything.
I'll just use his table the whole time.
Yes, it is.
Yes, it is.
Anonymous just tipped $3.
No, that is the real problem.
You taking my table is the problem.
No, because I paid for it.
This is my section.
why no no let me ask you why are you on my i'm
not being you just you just told these people
not to buy my eight dollar card
and lost me a three dollar sale you're being you're mad because
you took my table and i said
this is my table can you move you're taking my table and now you're
telling the people not to buy at my prices
so who what did i do to you what did i do all i said all
I said to you is move off of my table.
All I said to you, you're spread eagle on my table. And I say
move off. I paid $1,000. I mean, who's in the wrong?
What did I do to you? I didn't do anything
to you. Watching someone else use a table you paid
for would make anyone mad. And those free
packs only added fuel to the fire.
And the whole thing ended just as fast as it had started with
both vendors going back to their own tables.
This next crash out in Norman, Oklahoma started
the day before, when one vendor sold another
a bundle with a creased card marked as lightly
played. When the buyer came back
to calmly sort it out,
the seller laughed at him,
and that's when the camera started rolling.
you're very clearly lying about you're not even a reason
and i come over and you did mess up
and i come over and i come reasonable i'm trying
to talk to you and you sit there and
smile at me and talk to me like i'm stupid bro you definitely
were and it's not okay
i came up completely reasonable trying
to tell you man you have lied to me about the
prices and the condition of these cards
that's not cool can we work something out
i'm looking for the coolest stickers for these other cards
and you sit there and laugh at me bro
He had every right to be upset,
and laughing at a guy who came back for a refund only made it worse.
This customer didn't like a $75 price tag,
so instead of just walking away,
he started telling everyone nearby
that the vendor was ripping people off.
and when the vendor next door stepped
in to defend him things
only got worse what's wrong
with you bro he's ripping people off no he's
not i know that no he's not just leave bro just leave
you don't have to sell they don't have
to buy tell me they don't have to sell they don't have
to they don't have to you have to sell you don't have
to sell just walk away just walk away just
walk away kids come here don't tell me anything i have
a phone i showed him this card bro they're
like he's claiming that you're scamming people what
the hell is wrong with this guy get out of
here leave don't defend your friend leave leave
leave leave right here security can you get this
guy out of here nothing he's saying
that we're scamming kids yes you are scamming kids i was
on camera bro leave leave just leave brother you see
this just leave sir what i'm leaving
that same card had just sold raw
for 75 dollars so the price
was literally market and telling
everyone it was a scam is what got him walked out by security
but for second place on our list
this seller walked up to a vendor with four psa 10 xy full art ex cards
and the prices he had in
mine were something else you have tens
on Cosmo Hollows yeah yeah can i see it where you want to be
here okay all right mazel tov my friend what
do you say hi where did you come this one at my friend
huh those are hard comps hard comps yeah
the card value has it at five thousand yeah i have offers
about so instead of going around
and around you shoot straight with me and help me to help you
What are you looking for that card?
Card ladder value showed $5,165.
Where do you want to be, man?
I want a 10.
What do you want on that?
I want a 15.
That sold not that long ago.
Where are you at on that one?
I'd offer $8,000.
Where are you going to be on that one?
$20,000.
You want $20,000 on that?
That is way off.
We're just going to pass on that one.
What number do you have on that?
I'd offer a 15,000.
if i had to offer you 30k the five that we agree
is that something you'll be able to live with
i think we're a little too far oh cool here we already agree
but i'll do 30 000 those three and
these that's great everyone has
that five uh we couldn't agree unfortunately the vendor offered
thirty thousand dollars for all four
but a few minutes later the seller came back with a friend
and he was not happy.
Okay, here, take this seat.
Don't worry about it.
I don't want, I don't want.
We don't want to give him to you.
I don't want.
He's been here, standing for several hours.
What am I going to do?
I had many people over here.
I don't respect anybody.
I respect everybody.
You threw our slabs.
You said, why are you giving me trash?
I just saw the camera on there.
No, no, okay, here, take this seat.
Don't worry about it.
I don't want.
Don't ever do that to anyone's ******* slabs.
Don't touch it.
Okay, okay.
Don't touch it.
Okay.
asking up to twenty
thousand dollars for one
card and then bringing
a friend back to call
the vendor trash is wild
however this still pales in comparison to our number one spot
because that vendor paid almost $2,000
for a box that wasn't what it looked like.
Because this vendor bought
a sealed Unified Minds booster box from a customer,
and since they couldn't agree on an $1,800 or $1,900 price,
they let a coin flip decide.
But 10 days
later,
the box was
finally opened.
Every pack had been swapped for Darkness Ablaze,
and sealed right back up.
A real Unified Minds box goes for over $2,600 today.
I honestly just feel so sad that this happened to this vendor,
and that's what makes this
one of the most insane vendor deals ever caught on camera.
out this video on screen next
to see even crazier Pokemon card moments trust me these are insane
