All right, so we got more punishment here coming down
for a couple in this video here,
caught on camera in this fight that took place
in Sugar Land at a softball game, nonetheless.
All right, so it all happened there
at the softball park. Kids were there,
parents fighting. Sacro Gay joining us now live
in Sugar Land with more details on that.
Yeah, the aftermath of this violent incident continues.
Kiarius and Jasmine Hall are not only going
to be facing criminal charges, but
they're also facing punishment from one
of softball's sanctioning bodies.
So USFA, that's the United States Fast Pitch Association,
they posted a statement today saying anyone determined
to have participated
in that altercation will receive a lifetime ban from USFA events.
They condemned the behavior,
saying violence has no place in youth sports.
Adding quote, our young athletes deserve better from all of us.
Now, according to the Fort Bend County DA's office,
Kyarius and Jasmine Hall are out on bond.
Kyarius Hall faces two separate counts of assault.
And according to charging documents,
Kyarius told officers he was there
at the game cheering for his daughter.
Meanwhile, his wife Jasmine Hall faces a single assault charge.
And at the time of her arrest,
she was the assistant principal at Lamar Junior High School.
The district confirms she did resign earlier this week.
Now, the DA's office confirmed with us that neither
of the Halls have an attorney listed on file.
As far as any updates they could give about the investigation,
they said the Sugarland Police Department is investigating.
And once they hand over their findings to the DA's office,
that's when we'll have a clearer picture of if any
of these charges are upgraded from misdemeanors to felonies.
With that, the man that was struck in that video remains
in the hospital with a traumatic brain injury.
And the Halls will be back in court in February of 2027.
Back to you.
You know, Sakura, sadly, you know,
we've seen parents like this behaving badly at youth sports events.
It's something that we've covered here in Houston,
in the Houston area, but
also across the country as well.
How big of a problem is this becoming here?
Well, when you hear violence and softball,
maybe when you heard about this story,
you felt a little bit of deja vu.
And that's because there was a incident
that happened just days before this
incident at Imperial Park.
That incident happened over at Humble at an adult softball game.
That violence escalated, leaving one man dead and three people injured.
So again, a deadly incident,
two of these incidents happening at athletic complexes
surrounding sporting events.
Your heart really goes out specifically
in the most recent incident about the girls who
were out here playing softball.
I mean, these are 12 and under softball teams
and they'll forever have to live with the
memories of witnessing such violence like this.
Back to you.
