Everything Is Pointing to a Big Opportunity for The Hawks...

Everything is pointing to a big opportunity for the Atlanta Hawks tonight as they go on their quest to get back on the winning side of things after dropping two straight to the Houston Rockets over the past two games. Of course, tonight, the Hawks, Aaron Wiggins, and of course, Dyson Daniels, the three guys that I look to take on Giannis and the Heat. Let's try to keep the Heat winless. Right now, the Heat are 0-4 on the season right now. And granted, I want to point out, too, that one person that told me that the Hawks were going to be a play-in team, I'm pretty sure you did not expect an 0-4 start by the Miami Heat. As a matter of fact, I don't think anybody saw the 0-4 start by the Miami Heat this season. And I'm going to dive into all of that. I'm going to talk about the Miami Heat. I'm going to talk about Giannis and how he has added to the Miami Heat. But I'm specifically going to talk to you guys from the perspective that the Atlanta Hawks have a major opportunity. One, getting back in the winning side of things, making sure that they can rebound after taking two losses to the Houston Rockets. And then two, the three players that I see that are really going to help the Atlanta Hawks go forward in this game. Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson and Aaron Wiggins. Now, getting back to tonight's game, of course, again, I mentioned that the Atlanta Hawks are trending upward. you know folks trade at 54 so right now the hawks look like they have the favorable outcome uh for this game as a matter of fact when i go on uh espn and i look at the uh the tracker for this game or the game cast right now the hawks are actually looking at about 60 cents 66 percent on the matchup predictor on espn so really a lot of good things going for the atlanta hawks right Now, a lot of different things we're looking at that, you know, shows that the Atlanta Hawks are favorable in this matchup. But again, Miami is dangerous. Here's the current outlook of the Eastern Conference, which, again, all of this is going to change. I mean, granted, you got the New York Knicks at 13. What? Yeah, 13. Yeah, I think. Yeah, that's 13. The numbers are extremely small. But yeah, you got the Knicks at 13. of course we're at number seven um you got uh the Miami Heat of course they're at number 15 you know just all of this is going to change charlotte is at the number three spot so all of this is definitely destined to change this is not really a true blueprint of what the eastern conference is either going to shape out to be or even you know showing you what these teams are projected to look like going forward so let's not get used to this but miami so far again And unfortunately, fortunately for us, but unfortunately for them, they are fourth. I'm sorry, they're 0-4 on the season right now. Of course, as you can see, they're negative 26 in the plus minus. They're actually ranked first in points, but again, 22nd in free throws. So listen, they definitely need to get things in order down in Miami because, again, this young man, Giannis, did all that he could to get down there. OK, he definitely made sure that he made his point and I wanted to cut his head off. But anyway, back to this. Giannis is still dangerous, guys. Let's not forget that Giannis is dangerous. OK, so make sure that and I'm speaking to the Hawks y'all connect with me. Make sure that you guys lock in on Giannis again, limiting him. Really, I don't even think you can limit him because he's going to get his 28 points, nine rebounds, five assists. he's gonna get his numbers but the supporting cast around him right now you want to catch these guys the Miami Heat at this point right now get your wins against them now get on top of them and don't stop because right now you definitely want to get in on the action of you know making sure that they don't catch their chemistry right now this team doesn't have the chemistry uh the Miami Heat they don't have that chemistry just yet and I think it would be great for the Atlanta Hawks should get on top of that right now and stop, you know what I'm saying, make sure that they don't get their momentum, make sure that they don't get their footing, at least not right now, you know what I mean? And to be honest, Miami has been a thorn in the Atlanta Hawks' side. But again, this is Jalen Johnson's first full season as the number one guy, as the man for the Hawks. So, of course, this is a big matchup. Again, comparing Jalen Johnson and Giannis, as you can see the numbers here, of course, Giannis at 28.5 points per game, 9 rebounds, 5 assists. But Jalen Johnson, of course, he, you know, outduels him. And the rebounds, just really like not even that much, both at 9 basically, but 9.8 rebounds per game, 8.2 assists per game at that as well. So I'm definitely looking for this matchup, seeing how these guys, you know, shape up going forward now again so far the Atlanta Hawks right now they're two and two on the season plus seven and the uh plus minus they're ranked first uh let me see yeah yeah they're ranked first actually in threes made and this is in the Eastern Conference ranked first in the Eastern Conference is uh for threes made they're actually ranked first with the fewest turnovers at that as well and they're ranked number four in points all together number 22 in field goals and number 26 in blocks so right now as we can see um things are looking nice right now with the Atlanta Hawks but we want to make sure that we translate all of these good statistics into the win column you definitely want to get more wins than losses of course now um uh Jay Jalen Johnson JJ I was gonna say Jason but either way Jalen Johnson has to set the tone he is one of the basically one of the first three guys that I uh want to point out for this game Jalen Johnson is going to set the tone attack Miami before they get set you know i mean uh you know find a way to get the game on your pace you know what i mean for the Atlanta Hawks getting the game on their pace also too i've seen the Chalmers again people are still complaining about uh the work that or the the coaching that is being done by our Quinn Snyder so of course Quinn Snyder when you see something going good keep it going don't take it out don't sometimes he does do these things abruptly which throws off the whole chemistry of the team and then we find ourselves losing to an 0-14 you know what I'm saying make the simple read Jalen Johnson make the simple read the simple passes and of course finish the defensive possession hopefully those defensive possessions can turn into offensive points hopefully the Hawks can again get out in transition get the game on their pace make Miami chase you guys and hey we can be looking at a win now a second person that I want to point out uh for this game also to Dyson Daniels Dyson Daniels so far this season has definitely stepped up in a major way offensively uh and again this is only four games so this is not indicative of the entire season of course this season is going to have ebbs and flows but I'm the type of guy when you're doing good I got to give you credit for it Dyson Daniels again has stepped up in a major way this season so far affecting the ball defensively uh you can see in the steals column he's already I'm sorry in the assist column right now he's at about um 3.5 assists per game uh but then when you look at the steals which is awesome 3.5 steals per game at that 13 points per game so the offense is definitely clicking for him he's shooting 54 from the field 54 from the free throw line and now again 20 from the three but I don't think he's necessarily relying on his three-point shot one of the things I've been noticing and I saw this even when Dyson Daniels first got here yes he went through a slump last season but when Dyson Daniels first got here he was the type of player that would move without the ball he did very well without the ball he would cut to the basket he was that player that would cut to the basket or would slip behind the defense to make the easy two-point bucket and that's where uh i see dyson daniels affecting the game he was able to do that and i think that makes a lot of sense now again uh making sure that we continue to turn the pressure into points i pointed that out uh earlier in an earlier slide just talking about how the defense can hopefully turn on turn into points uh on offense but again definitely turning the pressure into points turning up the defense right now the atlanta hawks are doing quite well and i see that their plan is working defensively they're definitely doing the best that they can to interrupt teams you know what i mean they're definitely disrupting the first pass putting their hands in passing lanes and then again getting back out in transition run after the clean stop you know what i mean getting out of transition, getting the steals. And that's why I look to Dyson Daniels to affect the game on both sides of the ball. You know, sometimes if Jalen Johnson is sucking up some of the defensive attention, he can dish it out to Dyson Daniels for the cut to make the easy layup. And again, cut when Miami loads up. See what I'm saying? I just said it. When Miami is loading up on Jalen Johnson, when Miami is focusing in on Jalen Johnson, somebody get there. Cut. Now, the bench is also something that is very important because I think the Atlanta Hawks have done their just due this season to, well, this offseason, to affect their bench, to get their bench on point. Aaron Wiggins, by far, has done a very good job so far this season, and I do believe that he is somebody to consistently stay paid attention to right now. so far this season 15 points per game he's averaging 15 points per game uh 33 not 33 3.3 rebounds per game one assist per game on 27 minutes played so um i think he can definitely do uh very well going for further and then again look at the numbers or the percentages 53 from the field 48 from 3 71 from the free throw line i think he can definitely set the tone coming off of the bench and also getting some of the other supporting cast guys um uh you know some of the other supporting players in the same mindset again aaron wiggins is definitely uh very good from the three-point line you can see as you guys you've actually seen uh in the my in the first miami game not miami game but the first um uh jack dadgummit uh houston game uh after the first houston game how he was able to light it up how he was able to get warm how he was able to uh affect the game in the third quarter which actually brought the hawks back into contention but again they still unfortunately lost that game so aaron wiggins is definitely capable of getting that done aaron wiggins is definitely capable of getting that done and being the player coming off the bench and that is somebody that i am expecting uh to do that as you can see uh the the the injury report jock lindale is still out for the rest of the season uh because of his torn acl I'm sorry, not Jock Lindell. No, I'm sorry. Yes, Jock Lindell is actually available. Who I was thinking about was Henry Vassar. He's out for the season because of torn ACL. But, yes, R.J. Daniels is on there to be eligible for Keyshawn Gilbert and Jalen Williams as well. So, yeah, we are going to have our full roster of guys that are going to be on the court. I think this is definitely going to be a big game. And then again, my three players to watch, Jalen Johnson to set the tone, Dyson Daniels to impact both sides of the ball. OK, basically being that one driving force that can get all the other guys to, hey, turn these defensive stops into offensive points. That's the big focus there. And then, of course, Aaron Wiggins, he is coming. I think he's going to sustain the scoring when guys come out and he comes in to be that supporting role of that supporting cast. things are going to get done things are going to get done let's keep miami winless okay let's keep miami winless you guys tell me uh can the hawks sustain the pressure okay or miami catches atlanta slipping i hope that does not happen i don't like miami i do not want them uh to get this win so hey guys let's make sure that we get this thing going tonight um and of course y'all stay tuned because my man chris tipmore is going to follow up with the post game so with all that being said my name is Walter Pollard this is Atlanta Hawks Digest and i'm signing out peace
