Two San Jose police officers have been charged
with tampering with evidence and filing a false
police report. 29-year-old officer Radarius Suri
is accused of failing to place a bag of
narcotics into evidence following an arrest in May.
Investigators say he then seized a similar
bag from an individual without arresting that person
and then booked it into evidence under
the May case number. Police
also believe 30-year-old officer Destiny Thompson
accessed and viewed body-worn camera footage
of the May arrest to assist him in planning the
replacement of the missing evidence.
The two are in a romantic relationship and both are now charged
with felonies and are on paid administrative leave.
Election night could be a long one as
voters decide which party will control Congress
for the next two years. As Fox's Rebecca Castro
reports, most polls predict Democrats will win the House,
but the Senate remains up for grabs.
In some of those close races, they are getting even tighter.
I'm thrilled to be back in this really beautiful state.
President Trump's midterm blitz brought him to South Carolina Thursday,
where Republicans are scrambling to keep the state Senate seat red.
Five days from now, we're going to elect Darlene Graham.
The sister of the late Lindsey Graham is his political legacy,
locked in a surprisingly tight race
with Democrat nominee Dr. Annie Andrews.
The latest New York Times-Siena poll has them tied at 48 percent.
Leading Fox News to change its race forecast
from lean Republican to toss-up.
Last-minute campaigning like
this that Trump always does always helps everybody.
With South Carolina now on the board,
Fox is tracking six states that could determine control of the Senate.
In Michigan, it's Mike Rogers versus Abdullah Al-Sayed.
But the latest headline there comes from Al-Sayed's primary opponent,
Congresswoman Haley Stevens.
Her fiancé, a lifelong Jewish Democrat,
says he's backing Rogers because of Al-Sayed's anti-Israel rhetoric.
There are always going to be some folks
who have different opinions, and they're welcome to that.
That's the beauty of democracy.
But the bigger October surprise is in Alaska,
where the governor is investigating an alleged ballot-stacking scheme.
Staffers for the Democrat Senate nominee, Mary Peltola,
are accused of working with national Democrats
to get another Dan Sullivan on the ballot.
That's the same name as the Republican running for re-election.
This is an evil tactic. They're trying to confuse people.
The House Oversight Committee wants
the Democrats involved to testify before lawmakers,
but with the House likely turning blue next year,
Republicans don't have much time to get answers.
