Friends and loved ones are remembering
a mother after police say her estranged husband
killed her during a police chase.
Loved ones identified the woman as Bianca Garza.
Burleson police say the suspect forced
the woman into his SUV at gunpoint
and refused to pull over when officers tried to stop him.
Eventually, his vehicle did stop
and police found both him and Garza dead inside.
Fox Sports' Peyton Yeager has more on the case.
Peyton.
Heather Bianca Garza. She leaves behind two daughters, nine and 14.
Bianca Garza had just returned back home to her Burleson
apartment after dropping her nine year old off at school.
Now Garza's current boyfriend tells me that he and Garza's estranged
husband were going to meet up later today to have a civil conversation.
But he showed up early and it caught them off guard
and it turned violent.
A 35 minute and 25 mile police chase ended here
at a small airfield in Crescent. Police say a man
shot and killed his estranged wife inside this black SUV
and then killed himself. She loved to
To love, that was what made me fall in love with her.
She was a blessing.
Now she gets to be my guardian angel.
The woman identified as 34 year old Bianca Garza
by her current boyfriend Ezekiel Cain,
a mother of two and recently graduating from nursing school.
I will always miss her. I will always love her.
All I can say is that I'm sorry to her.
That I promised that I would love her and protect her.
Cain was at their Burleson apartment off West
Hidden Creek Parkway early Thursday morning.
Police say Garza's estranged husband showed up
in the parking lot around 7.45 AM, held
her at gunpoint and demanded she get in the SUV.
That's when I called 911,
but as I'm running down the stairs on the phone, 911 is when
I seen that he was already driving off.
A chase began.
Police say Garza also called 911 from inside the black SUV and
kept the line open.
The SUV weaved through parking lots, also passing by Chelsea Valentine.
I just keep thinking about what could have
You know I could have done a neighbor's backyard security
camera captured part of the pursuit through a neighborhood.
The SUV topped out at 100 miles per hour on 377 where spike strips
were deployed. Once at the Borland Field Airport, officers moved in.
Both people inside the SUV found dead. Two guns were found inside.
One had been used. This was an incident of murder suicide.
No shots were fired by any responding law enforcement officers.
Burleson police say they hadn't responded
to any previous calls between Garza and her estranged husband,
nor did Mansfield police where they used to live.
Amy Norton with Genesis Women's Shelter spoke to us Thursday afternoon.
We know that domestic violence is very nuanced.
There's no relationship or abusive.
Dynamic that is the exact same as another.
We know that abuse happens in a lot of different ways.
I'm doing it to advocate for her and for anybody
who's dealing with domestic abuse.
And at this hour now,
Bianca Garza has been identified by the medical examiner.
The male suspect has not been identified yet. Again, their children,
nine and 14, they were not harmed.
They are being cared for tonight by family members.
