Senegal gears up for historic 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar

Handshakes, smiles and exchanges fill the Olympic Village as ambassadors of the Youth Olympic Games share words of encouragement and pose for pictures. The Village is also getting ready to welcome more than 4,000 people, including athletes and delegation members. The Village offers accommodation, a fitness centre and dedicated facilities to meet athletes' needs. The ambassador's visit is a chance to show their support for Senegal's young athletes as they prepare to compete on one of the biggest sporting stages ever hosted on the continent. We're the futsal team and we're happy to take part in these games. It's a source of pride for us. We're ready to give it our all and represent the country. Thank you. Give it to Anderson, you beat. My name is Joel. I'm doing 400m run and I'm expecting... Tough, tough, yes. Winning is not everything, but having a mentality of losing is not good either. So I would like you guys to stay strong and try to not let down your country. Around 2,700 athletes from all around the world are expected to compete in more than 25 sports in these Games.
