Video Summary
AI GeneratedCJ Perry and Miro appear on TMZ's \"Inside the Ring\" to announce their pregnancy via IVF and promote CJ's upcoming spy thriller novel, \"Bulletproof Angel.\" The couple discusses their journey to parenthood, Miro's health recovery and wrestling aspirations, and their shared philosophies on discipline, success, and raising their son, Bear.
There was a report this week that WWE is considering putting you,
Ethan Page, and Big Cass together as a stable.
Um,
What are your thoughts on that speculation?
Wow.
You told me to read it.
It's very internet booking.
Yeah.
We have one, two, three bad guys.
Let's put them together.
I have not heard anything about this.
But also, I don't know if I'm okay with it either.
Like, that guy, I left for a couple months, you know, got hurt.
Then I got the sickness, then I have the kid,
and Paige just goes out there and finds another
tall guy, like, to back him up.
Like, F you, bro.
Like, you never call me, you never text me, you never checked on me.
Like, you're just going to go and find yourself a big goof?
Like, it's good for you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I don't want to be in social media.
Welcome to TMZ's Inside the Ring.
I'm Branson Quirk.
I'm Roger Corral.
And it has been a very long time, and we haven't had...
You're one of the favorites, CJ Perry, who is one of our co-hosts.
I don't know why I say one of.
I mean, she quite literally was our co-host for a very long time.
Easily.
It's been a while since she's been in the studio.
And she has some news that she just broke, her and Miro.
She's pregnant.
Let's just bring them on right now, actually.
CJ, Miro, welcome.
How are you? How are you?
Thanks for having us.
Congratulations.
It had a people exclusive.
Well, we were going to do this big intro,
but they're sitting right here.
I want to bring them in on this intro.
Thank you.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
Very excited for you.
Can we say that we knew a little bit ahead of time?
Is that okay to say?
Yeah, yeah.
We knew a little ahead of time.
Yeah, yeah.
Can we call you mommy and daddy?
Yeah.
Mommy and daddy.
Paparuzza.
Papa Rusev.
Papa Rusev.
That's better, dude.
Wow.
Papa Rusev.
I love Papa Rusev.
Well, there's a lot going on.
You're pregnant.
So happy about that.
But also you have a book coming out,
a couple of book signings coming up as well.
And we actually have the cover here.
Right here. Bulletproof angel. Yes.
So he's actually not shooting anyone. Yeah. We have a
few questions to go to talk to you about with this,
but, and here's the back as well. Yes.
So walk us through this. Yes. When did this start?
Because when you, when you told us that
you were writing a book, we not saying that you can't do that,
but we just didn't expect it.
Well, I like to have a lot of element of surprises.
So me and my co-writer, Blake North,
we started writing about a year and a half ago, maybe two years ago.
And then it goes to the
publisher about a year ago.
And then there's this long process that you go back and forth
with the publisher and the editor.
And, you know, it's a lot going into writing a book,
a lot of cool things.
I would say maybe inspired a little bit from Lana.
Mother Russia, she's a spy.
Of course.
Yes.
I mean, I'm looking at Lana right now.
Like, this is Lana here.
That's where the inspiration came from?
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
And so my co-writer is Polish as well,
so we had an Eastern European connection immediately.
Absolutely.
And so the character, she's an undercover spy.
She's Russian, and her mother used to be work for also the CIA,
and, you know.
The American government, but she's Russian and,
but she's retired. And so her daughter
is basically undercover as a model
and this beautiful woman dating the Russian mafia boss.
Right. And then.
Things go crazy, bombs, everything.
The mother has to come and help save the daughter.
There's a lot, you know.
There might be a character inspired by Rusev there too.
Really? Really?
Oh.
Gotta read and see.
I always wanted it to.
Have you finished the book?
Have you finished it?
I'm kind of in the middle still.
You're in the middle, okay.
It's a big book, and I'm a foreigner.
I read slow because I read to understand, not just to go.
He's American, and he reads slow, too.
I read slow for a different reason, IQ-wise, myself.
But, no, really excited about that.
So you have a couple book signings coming up.
Yes, so it comes out November 10th, but you can preorder it,
so please preorder it now.
And November 10th,
At 7 p.m., Barnes & Noble.
If you guys are in L.A.,
November 10th, 7th to 10,
Barnes & Noble at the Grove.
Please come out.
You can get your book signed.
We can take selfies.
We can give each other hugs.
Yay.
No kisses.
Just hugs.
No kisses.
Or a Russ will come and crash.
Yes, yes.
And then at Golden Apple Comics
on November 11th at 2 p.m.
And then in New Jersey, so.
So East Coast people, I got you guys.
Love you guys.
And November 13th, Friday at 6 p.m.
So I'm really excited.
You're already here.
Bulletproof Angel.
At Bookends, yes.
Bulletproof Angel.
I'm going to be honest with you.
I don't read.
I can't really.
There's going to be an audio version.
There's an audio version.
The only book I read is the Bible, which...
Good Lord.
Good lord.
Good lord.
You have to read the Bible.
I do it because I have to.
Oh my God, I love it.
I love it.
This is going to be the next book.
So the Bible...
In Bulletproof Angels.
Wow.
CJ, is there something you want to continue?
Like, you're an author now.
Do you want to keep this franchise going?
I would love that, you know?
So go buy the book so we can make that happen.
But also, it is going to be made into a movie.
We're already in the works of it.
Wait, wait, wait.
What's happening?
What?
I didn't know about this.
Yes.
It was for us.
Wait, a movie?
Yes.
So very exciting.
We're already starting working on the packaging because,
you know, it's like a James Bond
spy thriller, the book.
And, but, you know, there's some women leads, which is really exciting.
So yeah, we're in the works.
And the fun thing is like, I always-
Oh, you're not, you're not.
You're not the lead?
No, no, no.
We're going to get a bigger actress, like a bigger name.
Okay.
I'm producing it, though.
Okay, okay, okay.
And I might, you know, I'll probably
do a little cameo, because why not?
I love acting, and it's so fun.
But the biggest thing for me as a producer
is I want to get names that move the needle,
the best actresses, and even though I'm phenomenal, there's...
People that are better, you know, did he have to audition?
Well, the funny thing is,
thank God he doesn't have to audition because,
you know, I didn't even know about it.
Yeah.
He just found out right now.
And I'm finding out live on TMZ.
You're also offer only people in the offer.
They don't, you don't have to. Yeah,
no, he's definitely has an offer out already.
I got to look at my schedule.
Oh my God, from me and my co-author.
But I wanted, I was...
I'm going to pitch it to her.
And then she calls me and she's like,
would Rusev want to be in the movie?
And would he want to be a character in the book?
And I'm like, of course.
So it's even better when you make it,
have it to be their idea, you know?
Wow.
Yeah, yeah.
So Rusev's going to be one of the villains.
Very exciting.
I am.
So is this like something that's been moving quickly
or is there a lot?
Yeah, left to do, the book comes out November 10th.
And so we're working on the packaging and stuff like that
I can't give all the tea away,
but we got a really good director on board.
So can't give them. Yeah. Yeah
Oh, I'm really excited. Congrats.
Can we go to the premiere of this movie? Of course. Oh my gosh
You actually you'll be leading the interviews
Do you believe it's a Chinese theater opening?
Like Dave's Hot Chicken.
I see TLC.
I see TLC.
All right, great.
Well, let's get back to your announcement from this.
This week, again, very, very happy to hear.
You're not relevant anymore after this.
I mean, after that announcement, my goodness.
I mean, we have a few questions here.
I mean, maybe we just go with the craziest one first.
Actually, I got to start off.
I got you guys a little gift.
Oh, my gosh.
That's so sweet.
See, okay.
He did this to spite me.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, it has blue.
Oh, so sweet.
Can I open it now?
You can open it, sure.
Okay, okay.
You got to do it on the screen here.
Oh, my God.
I'm so excited.
I'm so excited.
It's just a small gift for my family.
See, that's the thing.
I didn't know he was going to do a gift,
and I've been so busy making this happen.
Oh, my God.
This is my gift.
Open one, too.
Let's do it together.
Podcast room.
Yes, yes, yes.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
I'm so excited.
I love.
Oh, look at that.
Oh, my God.
We got you guys a little bear.
Oh, a baby bear.
That's really cool. Thank you, man.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Oh my gosh, you're so sweet. Thank you.
I'll send you some action figures.
It's not an exchange. Don't worry, don't worry.
It's called a gift.
And we're really happy for you guys.
Thank you. Thank you for the bear.
I think you guys are going to be great parents.
Thank you for the bear. Look at that.
I love my bear.
I so appreciate it.
So I was going to get you guys a bigger bear,
but after I had my baby, I realized
they want to play with little things.
Oh my gosh.
So I got you something smaller.
This is going to be his favorite.
I'm going to have it right here.
Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh.
Oh yeah, that's perfect. That's perfect.
Wait, so how are you guys preparing like how how is life since
the announcement? Well, we don't have much sex anymore
I don't want to talk anymore.
Right.
Yeah, who asked?
But you did before you did before
We're always talking.
But it's okay, I feel like that's a normal thing.
Yeah, it's okay. I'm not complaining. I thought you asked
No, no.
I'm like, whoa.
I don't know.
I've been there.
Actually, we were gonna ask do you know
when the baby was conceived we were gonna ask
Do you know when, where, was it a special place?
Yeah, it was in a lab.
I'm starting to speak now.
I'm starting to speak now.
I'm starting to speak now.
That's right.
So IVF.
More like an X-Men type of pregnancy.
Right, right.
Well, you were going through IVF for a very long time,
and you spoke to us about that
at length.
Yeah.
What was it like when you found out yourself?
Because we know people that you told.
But what was it like yourself, both of you finding out?
I know you surprised him.
Yeah.
But when you found out, what was that like for you?
Oh my God, I was just so happy and so relieved, you know,
because you just don't know how it's going to go.
You know, you just have no idea.
And just a lot of prayers.
And
And so August 10th, we did that transfer.
And then we had to wait.
Literally nine days, it took forever.
And so I started taking pregnancy tests
like four days in after the transfer.
And, you know, it started coming back negative.
So by the sixth day, I was like freaking out,
like freaking out.
I was texting my mom, calling my mom,
being like, I'm gonna take it now.
My mom is like, CJ, if you think that it could be positive,
the doctors thought it would be
positive. Don't you think they would
be having you take it already? And that like hit me. And
I really, she goes, look,
pregnancy is all about surrender and letting go. And having children is
about surrendering and letting go.
And she's like, it's never, you're never going to stop.
You know, you've got to learn how to let it go and not,
cause you're going to be worrying your
whole life. You can tell us all about it.
And so that like hit me really hard. And
I just like got into prayers more and worship music
and meditating and stretching and just
being like, okay, I just have to trust God
and trust what the process is going to be
and have faith.
And so that was like, that's how it was for me.
Miro, I would love to hear from Miro how it was for you.
I remember you picked up playing the guitar again.
Really?
Like, every day you were playing, like, seven hours on the guitar.
Wait, you were playing guitar to her belly?
No.
I think she's referring when we were waiting to hear.
Yes.
And.
Yeah, because it was just this time
that you don't know what's happening.
So nerve-wracking.
And yeah, I was just speaking of, I was just playing some songs,
some like Bible songs or whatnot.
Just, you know, praising the Lord,
just trying to get the good vibes going.
Some Hillsong.
Yeah.
Definitely some Hillsong.
Definitely some Hillsong.
I know the vibe.
10,000 Reasons and all that.
Oh, yeah.
He knows how to play it now.
Really?
Yeah.
But it's not that hard.
Like, don't get me.
But yeah, just you got to.
It's amazing, actually.
I'm trying to stay in this positive mood.
Mood and vibe.
You don't want to doubt anything.
You have to believe
and you just,
miracles happen.
Yeah.
You and Wade Barrett
ever talk about playing together,
like jamming?
No.
He's way too good.
He's pretty good.
He's pretty good.
He's ready to get a concert going.
No, for real.
For real.
And I just have an amateur hour.
I just,
sometimes I just hear a song
and I want to try to learn
if I see how to play it.
Right.
Right.
I love that.
I was talking to my co-worker,
Dylan,
and he was wondering,
do you guys have a godmother,
godfather in mind?
Um, so, do we?
Some people are starting to send me offers.
Oh, you're getting offers?
Like, it's a movie deal.
Like, hey.
Hey.
It doesn't work that way.
Wait, can I say?
Please.
Okay, so, um, probably, like,
once I found out I was pregnant, Liv texted me, and she's
like,
I want to be the godmother.
I want to be the godmother.
That sounds like Liv, for sure.
Now we're trying to see who's going to offer more gifts.
Oh.
Am I in contention?
But it's more about you.
It's more about a stable home, though, right?
You find the person that's the most stable, right?
Leverage.
Like, we've got Liv Morgan,
you've got Dominic Mysterio coming in and out,
and I don't know if you want that.
Well, and so the Bulgarian culture,
they have to be believers, you know?
And so he was like, you know,
Liv identifies as a believer.
And so I was like, you know,
Miro's like, does she believe in God?
I don't like that.
And then we had my co-host starting to chime in
about a month and a half ago, Jonathan Saba,
you know, one of the COO at Saban Films.
He's a great guy, diehard wrestling fan.
He has a big movie out right now, Buddy.
Buddy?
Yes.
I haven't seen that.
I have not.
That's his movie.
It's pretty scary.
It's been breaking the box office.
Oh, Buddy.
Yes, yes, yes.
I've been avoiding it
because I don't want my daughter to see it.
Yeah, me too.
You know, parents took their kids to that movie.
That's absurd.
I'm sorry.
Johnny would love to hear that.
So Johnny starts chiming in and is like,
I want to be the godfather.
And I'm like, well, you know,
Liv has already put claims in it.
And he's like, I'm going to fight her.
I don't know.
So he's been sending us movie posters
like the one I sent you guys.
He's like, why do you need Lionheart
when you're going to have Bearheart?
Yeah, making AI photos.
I'm breaking news, dude.
Yeah, I love that.
I love that.
So, I want to say Rusev every time I see you
because that's just how I see you.
That's his name.
How are you doing?
I know back in July,
you had that scary moment in the ring
where your hands went numb
and you ended up finishing the match.
We were there, of course.
They were there.
We were there. We saw it. It was here
in Los Angeles at the Crypto Arena.
Yeah.
No, Intuit Dome. I'm sorry. My bad.
He promises he was there.
My bad. My bad. It was Lakers.
I swear he was there.
Yeah. How are you doing? I know you were in Hawaii.
You wrestled Joe Hendry as your first match back after recovering.
How are things going?
Good. Good. I've been out for, what, two, three months or whatnot.
But, yes, I did get kicked in the head.
My hands felt better after I finished the match.
Then I got a little sick after that, but not related.
I don't believe it was related.
So I was out for that, but then I've been ready.
I've been good for about two months.
I'm just ready to go back to TV.
You were training at NXT too?
Yeah, I went to NXT.
I went to Catch Academy, my school in Nashville.
I've been trying to get ready.
And then they called me out of nowhere
just to go to Hawaii for a couple of live events, which.
Of course I will.
And I got on a plane, spent three days on the beach,
two great live events sold out.
It was just tremendous.
Got to beat Joe Henry's ass.
He thinks he's some kind of a musician or something.
He does think that.
He forgot that he used to be my lawyer back 10 years ago.
So he's pulling all these tricks on me.
Uh...
So yeah, I had to beat his ass in Hawaii.
But then the second night, me and Paige had to team up.
My old buddy Paige.
Yeah.
Against Chad Gable and Rey Mysterio,
and working these guys, it's always fun
Yeah.
Wow.
You guys tore the house down.
Oh, absolutely.
I mean, yeah.
Yeah, what is it about Hawaii you love?
Because you post a lot about Hawaii once you're there, man.
Yeah, well, I love the weather.
You know, it was 82 degrees and 82 degree water.
So our hotel was right on the beach.
We just had a great setup.
Same building.
We don't have to go anywhere.
Great food.
We just ate loco moco twice a day.
Love loco moco.
Four days in a row.
That's with the eggs and the...
Yeah, yeah, they put it all together, yeah.
I skipped the gravy though, because you know, I'm trying to watch.
That's what makes it loco.
I know, but I'm just a moco guy.
You're always very conscious.
I never see you at Jack in the Box.
I never see you anywhere like that.
Well, I'm not saying no, like, I'm trying to,
you know, I'm trying to do good.
Yeah, he does low, low carbs.
No, it all depends.
Actually, speaking of how strict you are with your diet,
who do you think is going to be the stricter parent?
Uh, well, definitely, definitely me.
I was going to say, it's pretty obvious
who's going to be the strict parent.
For sure.
But strict is not necessarily a bad word when we say strict.
Like if I'm not strict with my dogs and let's just CJ feed them,
they're going to be fat.
really fat
Yeah.
So, and I know she does it from love,
but sometimes discipline means love as well.
It's just got to balance.
I do let them have their bones for more than 15 minutes.
Like, why would you use a measuring scoop
where you can just measure it with your hand?
Yeah, that should be enough for them.
Like, no, there's actually calories in,
calories out, formulas, calculations
that CJ just ignores.
Thank you.
She got my vibes.
I do round up, I round it up.
So yeah, I believe I would be, but for the better.
Yeah, for the better.
He literally has a 15 minute timer for their bones
and it's like...
You have a timer?
Oh, yeah.
That's crazy.
Otherwise, you leave them there.
We eat the whole thing.
And what's that good for?
Who?
Good for the...
I guess...
It's not good for their teeth.
Thank you.
Thank you.
For happiness.
But happiness is permanent.
It's temporary.
Yeah.
Happiness is temporary.
But that's the same thing.
It's like, oh, I love eating chips.
And you eat a whole bag of chips.
But then what happens after that?
It's a huge bag of chips.
Wait, wait.
But we have Halloween coming up.
How strict are you going to be?
How much candy can he have?
No candy.
Nobody's...
No, you don't...
These are WWE superstars.
I'm just wondering.
Any kid that comes to my house gets dark chocolate.
95% buddy.
Yeah, me too.
That's good quality chocolate.
That's good quality.
Come on in, 95%.
I got you.
Straight cocoa.
For sure.
Yeah, our kids are not going to have candy for sure.
I don't eat any sugar.
I haven't had sugar in 150 days now.
It's been, yeah.
I saw you.
I know, I lost 30 pounds.
You don't need to move either.
Fruit, no fruit?
Well, the word sugar is a little expendable here.
No, no, no. Fruit is good.
I have fruit.
I have fruit once in a while, which is okay.
I'm the added sugar, sweets, all that crappy stuff.
You know, I think that was enough to really change my lifestyle.
So that did enough to get me off some other things.
And it's so easy when you turn around and it says added sugar.
It's so easy to check the labels for what you eat and what you're not.
I went in there and a bag of chips had like four grams of added sugar.
A bun had added sugar in it, you know?
Yeah.
All that stuff.
A lot of sugar.
A lot of sugar in it, I know.
Especially the crap bread, too.
Smash burger bread, you know, things like that.
It's like kind of sweet looking.
You know, you used to go to Taco Bell.
You're still a Taco Bell guy.
Actually, when we were in India,
I was with you guys in Indianapolis
and I got Taco Bell at two o'clock in the morning.
And I got like, I think like 35 bucks worth of Taco Bell.
I do love Taco Bell.
And I'm off that now though.
I haven't had Taco Bell since then actually.
So I'm really off it.
Anyways, last time I saw you was right before WrestleMania.
And you had that ladder match, which was incredible.
Yeah.
I carried the match.
Arguably, yeah, and you were in the intercontinental title scene things
were up and up and up and then you know
Unfortunately, you had that that's really
scary incident in the ring in July
Can you walk us through you know your thoughts on on was was did
that really upset you when that happened back in July?
You know like you feel like it killed your momentum that you had going
I mean you were in the intercontinental title scene at the time.
I don't think you can be upset by that. It's you know, it's
Life is life. It's a high-impact sport,
especially if you do it the right way.
Things happen, and I understand this completely.
I've broken my neck before. I've torn my knee.
I had shoulder surgery. I've torn biceps.
So I know it's not... Things happen, and that's okay.
I don't think it slowed down my momentum at all.
I think when you're good, you're good.
You come back, and you plug yourself right in,
and you kick ass and take names.
So I don't think.
It's not slowed my momentum at all.
And yes, I have been following
the Intercontinental title for over a year now.
And I believe that when the time is right, I will bring it back home.
Whether it's before Bear or after Bear, this title will be mine.
And now, especially knowing that Bear is coming,
I have a lot more to fight for.
You know, I have to teach my son how to be a man,
how to stand up for himself,
how to show his power where he needed to be,
not just spread his power everywhere.
Because you can, you have to concentrate your strength.
So now this is going to be my next task.
My next mission is to show my life to my child
and how to behave when he grows up when I'm not here.
You're not here.
Well, I mean, I was actually going to ask,
speaking of your child coming.
Thank
Do you want him to become a wrestler eventually?
Do you want him to follow in the family business?
Is that something that you want for your child?
you so
Because we've actually had mixed answers.
We have had mixed answers.
A lot of people, which we thought they'd go, yeah, go for it.
But some people said, no, we don't want that.
much
Well, I want my kid to play for Real Madrid.
for
Yes.
We're moving to Spain.
I heard that.
We're enrolling him into the Madrid Academy.
coming.
Right.
And I want him to play football.
At five, six years old, apparently, he's enrolling him.
Well, you got to start early.
That's amazing.
So he says, I love it.
I'm all supportive of it.
But I feel like, so my son is already 93 percentile of the largest.
What about my son?
Our son.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I want to make sure.
This is new, so you know the words.
Yes, yes.
So I feel like, you know, Mira was born, Rusev was born at 11 pounds.
And his mother gave birth to him for three days.
And so.
It's a big baby.
It only took me like 10 minutes.
It's a lot of fun, isn't it?
Wow.
And they had no electricity half of the time.
Isn't that crazy?
So bear could be 12 pounds.
I know, I know, crazy.
I mean, it's Bulgaria.
All you guys, they're all crying for it.
Oh my God.
I was talking politics this morning.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Wow.
So I feel like he's going to be at some point
a professional wrestler because like
most of the time we want to a lot of times be like our parents,
you know, especially when
someone is as successful as Rusev.
And so Jack does him and he's probably going to have big
bones like Rusev. So, you know,
we'll get him an acting class and soccer class and singing class
and gymnastics, and he's going to have all
the tools to be a professional wrestler.
But most importantly, I want to support my husband.
My son, I want to support my son
in whatever he wants to do in life.
But you have to pick something, you know?
You can't not have ambition.
Also, wrestling, it's...
I mean, not like it's easy to be a lawyer or a football player,
basketball player, whatever it is.
But in the NBA, they have 30 teams, right?
In the NFL, they have whatever teams.
In wrestling, we only have two companies.
You can actually make some kind of a, oh,
maybe three, whatever you want, four.
Careful.
Very.
How many companies you have for you to, you know.
And it doesn't mean that 18 years from now,
when he's grown up, they're not going to be different.
Yeah.
But you want to give your kid the chance to succeed, you know, in.
In like a broader spectrum.
I don't want him to be that limited.
That only two people can decide your fate.
Whether you're going to be good or you're not going to be good.
You know?
And that's why I always thought, CJ,
she's like, well, like, let him be a lawyer.
Everybody needs lawyers or doctors.
Everybody needs doctors, you know?
Just try to be good that you can,
it doesn't matter if they kick you out from here,
you can go and do that there because you know you're the best.
It's not because somebody is holding something in front of your face
and trying to lie to you or lure you in.
Your skills have to speak for you.
And that's what I want to teach her.
Yeah.
I mean, you're right.
It's very hard to get in these companies.
It's not something that someone can just walk into.
You've seen a lot of kids of wrestlers,
big wrestlers, go through their own journeys.
You know, like Sting's son, Stephen Borden, you know, all these kids.
And they have to really put in the work.
So, actually, my next question would be.
When you do show your kid,
when you show Bear your wrestling careers to him,
what's the moment you first show of you guys both on screen?
If you had to pick a moment to show him first,
I'll tell you what I was...
The tank?
Yeah, that's what I would...
The Russian tank?
Well, that's got to be the biggest one.
Yeah, the Russian army?
The 31, the WrestleMania 31 with the tank and the army and CJ.
Waving the wrong flag.
You're like, no, we're not trying to kill John Cena.
Like, whoa.
But it's a theater, right?
Right.
So you can't just take it as, oh,
he waved Russia, so I'm Russia or whatever.
It's just a theater, the theatrics of it.
But the overall package, the presentation,
everything, that was just top of the top.
It was the best.
Yeah, yeah, that ends.
And I don't even know if I've had plenty
of wrestling matches there since.
And other people have and higher names than me,
but it doesn't mean you can top that presentation.
Yeah.
And I know WWE doesn't value that entrance as top 10 or top 20 ever,
but I believe in my mind, that's definitely top.
If not number one, definitely top three.
It's not because we did it, they organized it,
they put the pieces together, and we are both very thankful for it.
I have a video on my phone of that, like from 2015, of you coming in.
In a flip phone?
The oldest iPhone there was back then, I think it was an iPod Touch,
but yeah, you coming out there screaming.
Wow.
Pointing the tank at us.
And you can't take away
WrestleMania with the Rusev Day thing
was also huge.
That was really special.
But we had no extra,
nothing extra was there.
But the people,
it's what they made.
This moment very special.
Just the whole city for days
chanting Rusev Day.
The whole arena chanting Rusev Day.
Yeah.
It was just unbelievable
to be a part of.
Well, Rusev Day was so over.
But some people believe
that it didn't get its full payoff.
What do you have to say to that?
Do you feel like there was more
That there was to be had with Rusev Day.
There can always be more, but there can always be less.
So, right, it's like...
You just got to take it as what it is.
I fought for my career.
I fought for what I believed in.
It didn't fall through.
It's okay.
We move on, man.
I'm not going to die on this hill just
because you can't piss against the wind, right?
It's life is life.
Life is life.
Is there anyone backstage that you guys look up to?
There's a lot of parents backstage in WWE.
Some of them big wrestlers.
You have Seth Rollins who brings their kids to every city they go to.
You have The Miz.
You have all these families.
Is there a couple that you guys look up to
or try to get advice from or try to get some tips?
Go for it.
Well, I haven't been to work since we had this situation.
So I don't know.
Nobody has told me anything yet.
Um,
But what I am happy about is that this kid, Bear,
is coming this time in our lives.
Because back when we first started
and throughout our careers, we were so busy.
Five days, six days on the road,
going for weeks at a time.
It's just...
And I saw how it affected parents at the time, like all these boys
and girls that are on the road have to leave their family behind,
and I saw how hard is that for them.
And I know how hard it would have been for me,
but knowing now the schedule is a little bit lighter,
I'll be able to pay attention a lot more to the kid.
And I think that's a blessing.
So I don't know about any other parents, what they do.
I want my kid just to have a best life.
Have a best life.
Yes.
That's nice.
Well, I saw the expected due date is end of April.
April 28th.
Right after WrestleMania.
Do we want to maybe push it a little?
Make sure that it comes out for WrestleMania?
It's April 28th.
I don't know.
What day is WrestleMania?
I don't know.
It's before the 28th.
Oh, okay.
I think it's the end of March, isn't it?
I think it's beginning of April, end of March.
Yeah, it's around that time always.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We'll play it by ear, we'll see why.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm not holding my breath on that date,
because that's a date so far away that you never know.
You never know what could happen.
I will say, there's one more match I would want to show him,
and that would be your ladder match at WrestleMania.
Oh.
Because you surprised all of us with all your crazy things.
I surprised myself.
Well...
I don't like ladders.
You know, when I first came to America, I was a painter.
I had to paint houses.
Oh.
And I had to go these high-ass...
That's a hard job.
Oh, in Richmond, Virginia, in June.
Yeah.
I had to go to Richmond, Virginia in June,
100 degrees, 110 degree, what is this, humidity.
You would just sweat all over the place.
You got to paint.
I've never painted anything in my life.
But it was hard, man.
Climbing these ladders is scary.
And now I had to channel my inner 2005 painter guy
to climb on the WrestleMania.
But you know, 50,000 people will help you do that.
But it was a great experience that I don't want to do again.
Someone you were working for before you got injured was,
you were working with Penta a lot.
And we just saw Penta cash in, not cash in,
but he just obtained his money in the bank.
And he's on his way to potentially becoming WWE champion.
How was it working with him?
What are your thoughts on him as a performer?
So, I've been a fan of Penta since the other company before.
And CJ can tell you that as soon as I came back
after that first or second show I was there,
I bragged to her about these two guys, the Lucha Bros.
And because they were just so unbelievable,
they looked like live action figures.
And Penta was just so cool, man.
He looks like a Mortal Kombat character,
which he played at one of the WrestleManias.
I think he deserves it 100%.
I love working with Penta.
I love kicking his ass.
I know how entertaining he is as well.
How cool he is.
So I'm a big fan of him.
If him becoming a champion,
I will be more than happy for him.
And for the business in general,
just because it's good for the business.
A man like this to be a champion.
Yeah, yeah.
And also, he's a great guy, man.
He's got so many, he's helping so many kids in Mexico.
You guys have no idea because he doesn't talk about it.
But in a private conversation,
he's helped like tons of orphans, people with no homes.
He buys them truckloads of toys and goes and helps these kids.
Yeah, man, he's a tremendous guy.
He really, like people who get to know him,
they'll really love him as a person.
That's amazing.
We talked to Titus O'Neill about a lot of folks backstage
that are really involved and charitable but don't talk about it.
One of those being Roman Reigns as well.
He's always showing up to things as well.
So that's an amazing thing to hear that he's able to use that.
Catch Pro Wrestling.
How is that going?
It's fantastic.
We had our first, not first, but kind of the official grand opening
maybe a few weeks ago.
We had about 50 people turn up.
It was a great event.
10 more people signed.
We gave away two scholarships.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, huge interest.
We had Drew McIntyre stop by.
Really?
Okay.
Yes.
Awesome.
Kishi was supposed to come, but he was busy.
So, you know, people were coming in and out.
But it was great.
I love having the space, especially for me going there to train myself.
As you can see, Drew goes there all the time to train himself.
But also just to see these kids, man,
just to grow from nothing and the love of...
Of professional wrestling coming and growing.
Now it becomes this knowledge.
It's not just a fan.
Now you're in it and you're trying to figure out how we all do it.
It's so good to see because I'm not there all the time.
So sometimes I'll come back after a month and see that kid.
They had no idea.
Now he's doing these up and overs, these drop downs, these bars.
I'm like, man, this is just, it warms my heart.
Yeah, absolutely.
CJ, is there something you would ever consider?
Maybe stopping by the school, teaching anything that you've learned?
Yeah, for sure. I just haven't been to Nashville since March, really.
And but and I couldn't make it to the grand opening,
which I really wanted to because I was I had
to go to the doctor every week in those days.
But yeah, you know, I could teach him a promo class or two.
Yeah, that's good. I went to a local show, MFN Lucha,
and I saw so many new people there. All of them are great.
What is it something that you look for when you're teaching students?
Um...
I look for kids who want to learn because,
you know, whether you're experienced or you're not,
as long as you come with an open mind,
it's clear when you go to a school you want to learn, right?
But if you just want to do what you know,
then you're not here to learn.
You're here to do, I don't know what else, you're here.
So I want to see people who want to learn,
who apply what they're taught.
I think that's the most important thing is to be coachable
and just to be a nice person, man.
Because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how good you are.
If you're a bad person, you're not going to last in this business.
People are not going to care about you
and you're just going to get faded out.
Nice people, hard workers.
Thank
That's all I care about. Wow, yeah.
Because my school is probably
the most affordable school in the whole country.
So it's not even about the money with us.
It's about just come and try it out, man.
See if you like it.
Because not everybody, one thing is to look at it on TV.
And the next thing is when you fall in the ring,
you.
You know, a lot of things change.
I got chopped like three weeks ago.
It hurt, man.
Oh my God, I saw that.
Funny.
At first I thought it was AI.
And then I was like, oh, no, that's really...
No, no, that was me.
That's real.
Yeah, everything was real.
You don't believe you can take a shot?
No, no, I was just like, oh, my God,
this guy, Roger's in the ring taking chops?
Yeah.
Well, you know why I didn't go?
I can't take a shot.
I cannot take a shot.
No sugar, no chops.
No sugar, no chops.
All right.
CJ, I know for a while you were talking about
getting back into the scene of wrestling
in some way or another,
whether that be managing or however so.
Now that you're becoming a mother, though,
that's totally your life's changing now.
So down the road, is that still something
that you're interested in being a part of if it comes to it?
Um, while being a mother, or are you like,
I just want to be a mother and do other things now?
I mean, I love professional wrestling and I feel like if anything,
I'm hustling more than ever
right now, you know, different avenues, producing,
acting, you know, I feel like I'm always getting
my hustle on my, my brain is clearer than ever because again,
like what he was saying is like,
now you have something to fight for.
It's not just about you. It's not just about your career.
It's providing for your child.
And so, yeah, I'm always open to returning to wrestling. I love to
manage.
My husband and my son.
Welcome to the ring,
Bear Bar-Nyeshe!
Cheers!
Speaking of bear,
what's your favorite cartoon bear?
There's a lot of bears.
Yogi Bear.
Winnie the Pooh.
Winnie the Pooh.
Yeah, I feel like Winnie the Pooh
actually right now.
He is the goaded bear.
Is that the goaded bear?
Maybe the American.
The goaded bear.
But not in my country.
They got a ride at Disneyland
for this thing.
Yeah.
Not in your country?
No, my country don't care
about Winnie the Pooh.
Ooh.
Do you have another bear?
I don't want to...
Those aren't bears.
That was a good bear.
Yogi Bear is probably even more popular than Winnie the...
Well, I guess it's a little more bigger and aggressive.
What do you mean? Do y'all get the bear aggressive?
Well, not aggressive, but isn't it a grizzly bear?
It's funny, I was just talking about-
Whoa, whoa, whoa, boo, boo.
I was just talking about that in another interview we did,
because I feel like there's a stereotype
that like Russians can take on bears,
and they're really strong.
Yeah.
Do you have expectations for your kid
to be strong enough to take on a bear?
I mean, he's going to be there.
The bear.
Oh.
He's coming with a strong name.
So he's got to be strong.
But also the bear, the name,
it's not just like as a strong,
it's the animal bear.
You can, you know, he's because of,
I believe because of God
and because that's why we have this kid
and he's going to bear Jesus's name.
He's going to bear, you know,
you can bear a lot of things.
It's not just bear the bear.
So I think it's a lot of,
a lot of meanings behind the name
and it's up to him to pick what he want to be.
If you want to be the strong bear,
then be the strong bear.
If you want to.
Bear the weight of whatever, you can do that as well.
He's going to have his own choice to make.
I'm going to of course direct him in the directions,
but then it's going to be up to him.
Wow.
A lot of celebrities end up blurring
the face of their child when they post it.
We cover this all the time.
Are you guys going to do that?
Or are you going to wait a while before you show the world bear?
That's a good question.
This girl cannot wait for anything.
I was going to, I know that, but it's, I'm just asking.
Hey, do you want to know the sex of the kid?
By the time I said no, she told me what it was.
Really?
Is that what happened?
So you didn't want to know.
No.
Oh, wow.
I couldn't hold it.
I was too excited.
I couldn't say no.
And she just, she told me it's a boy.
I'm like, was that a rhetorical question?
Cause you could have like, I mean, honestly,
I mean, you texted Roger and I who work at
what one of the biggest news organizations in the whole.
I know.
Frickin' world.
Yeah.
That's risky.
It is risky.
But you know what?
We didn't tell anyone.
We didn't tell a soul.
Yeah, I know.
You can trust us.
I felt like I could trust you guys.
Yeah, yeah.
You can trust us.
Is there a vault in TMZ with secrets inside?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, buddy.
Yeah, this phone right here.
Right here.
Yeah, right there.
Right there.
But you guys knew I was on that journey, too.
Actually, I have a question.
Go for it, go for it.
There's always speculation in the...
You know the internet wrestling community, right?
No.
You know a lot of speculation about, you know,
What are you going to do once you're back on TV?
I'm not even going to give light to them,
but there's been random reports that come out
about what you're doing.
How do you, what's your response to?
I don't know, what am I doing?
I have it here, but I don't want to read it out loud
in case it's...
No, please read it.
I love it.
Okay, well, there was a report this week
that WWE is considering putting you, Ethan Page,
and Big Cass together as a stable.
It's unbelievable.
What are your thoughts on that speculation?
Huh?
You told him to read it.
I mean, it's very internet booking.
Yeah.
We have one, two, three bad guys.
Let's put them together.
I have not heard anything about this.
But also, I don't know if I'm okay with it either.
Like that guy, I left for a couple months, you know, got hurt.
Then I got the sickness.
Then I have the kid.
And Paige just goes out there and finds another tall guy,
like to back him up.
Like, F you, bro.
Like, you never call me.
You never text me.
You never checked on me.
Like, you're just going to go and find yourself a big goof.
Like, good for you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I don't want to be associated with you.
I'm not a Godfather contender.
So this is just random booking.
It's just wishes and dreams.
So on my first run in WWE,
I never knew anything about dirt sheets
and anything about any kind of dirt sheet reporter.
Nobody cared about these things.
All of a sudden, it became like this huge thing
about dirt sheets and all these other guys
who write stuff and they all know knowledge.
90% of these things
that people write
is just crap.
I feel like the dirt sheets were always around back then
but the difference is now
people use Instagram and people always
use Twitter as well but now
you see it a lot more because of Instagram
so like
our algorithms will feed us
wrestling stuff and these dirt sheets
also post on Instagram accounts
so we see it
At least for me, even quicker.
I don't necessarily go read full articles,
but I see stuff on.
And I did see that report.
And I asked them about it, actually.
So you did know.
But also, because somebody said that,
they could have been probably greenlit on Tuesday.
By the time Wednesday night comes,
everything could be scrapped.
And re-put back together on Thursday.
Everything is just changing by the hour,
by the minute, by the day.
It all depends who's in what mood as well.
Whatever, maybe somebody got the right report,
but then somebody said, oh, no, let's move away from that.
And then they move away from it.
And a lot of times ideas are shuffled around and creative.
People will be like, hey, what about this idea?
And then they'll maybe keep it, you know.
Flushing it out for a little bit.
And then they decide not to go with it.
You know, there's so many factors and there's so many,
like you turn one, you put one faction
together or you turn one person,
baby face or one person heel has a ripple effect.
And so you really have to like think through everything,
you know, and it takes time and
yeah.
And just people are pitching stuff, people,
everything's being considered, but you know,
it's a, it takes a lot to run the circus.
So I just realized something.
That, okay, actually, wait, no, you'll be okay,
because the baby's not coming until April,
so you have time to play GTA 6.
Are you going to be playing GTA 6 like the rest of us, man?
I feel like the whole world would be playing GTA 6.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
I don't want to miss out.
Yeah.
Maybe you should have timed it to where you take your paternity leave.
No, I'm not that guy.
You're not that guy, okay.
I'm currently running on Resident Evil.
I started two, three, four.
Oh, he's on that.
Really?
I've never played them before either.
So that's becoming my favorite game.
Your first time playing them?
Yes.
Very scary.
Yeah, they could be, but I really enjoyed them because they're short.
They're seven, eight-hour games.
If you're good, you can finish them in five, which I don't.
But that's the kind of games that I appreciate more now compared
to before that I was playing, what was that, Assassin's Creed,
and all of a sudden, the Black Flag, all of a sudden I turn around,
I've played it 35 hours, I'm like, get away from me, man,
now you're just stealing my time because I'm just pirating around.
Getting, not doing anything, like just wasting my time,
and I don't want to do that.
And you're, but you, I did see you were streaming on Twitch.
Yeah, he started Twitch again.
Yeah, yeah.
Are you playing Red Dead Redemption?
I do like you on Twitch.
I was bored, and I just wanted to do something.
We want more of that.
Yeah, we want more of that.
I like that a lot.
Go subscribe, go subscribe.
If you played Modern Warfare 4 tonight, I would watch for hours.
Wait, isn't, is this the one that just came out?
The one that just came out.
It's very good.
Is it?
You should play with me.
You still have time.
I will. I haven't played in a while.
I want to start twitching with you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I want to start playing with you.
It's very fun.
Are you playing Resident Evil on Twitch?
I did for a little bit, but then...
So, but when you play online or on Twitch,
there's a certain pressure, right?
Oh yeah, I mean, you have to be good.
You have to be good.
And playing a game for the first time...
Yeah.
Thank
It's...
But then, when I did that little stream, I did a little Resident Evil,
then I stopped the stream, and then
I kept playing, and I beat the game.
That's funny.
I feel like I cheated everybody out of it.
But sometimes I want to enjoy myself.
And the new FIFA is...
Terrible. I'm not going to say the S-word.
you.
The new FIFA is just terrible.
So I'm not playing that at all.
So I'm relying on Resident Evil.
Wow. You're really not playing it?
Barely. I mean, you'll see me.
Before, like, I used to run FIFA all day long.
Wow. That's an addicting game. Yeah.
Yeah. But now this year is just...
Yeah.
I don't know how much time we have left,
but I think of things this way.
This is going to be your last Halloween without a baby.
And so, you know, next Halloween,
Bear will be around trick-or-treating.
What message would you give Bear with you now?
Like, what would you want him
to know about you guys now at this moment?
No, no, no. You go for it.
I don't know. I don't know what to say. It's a complicated question.
I don't know. You're going to have all
this knowledge and wisdom to give to our children.
Um, I don't think...
I'm
starting
You're trying to get Rusev emotional.
Well, because you will get emotional.
He doesn't do it that often.
It's funny. I was very nonchalant.
I was like, all right, sure.
I got emotional at Biggie's wedding.
Oh, there you go.
Santa Cruz. I love Santa Cruz.
to
Yeah, it was beautiful.
It was so nice.
Oh, that's nice.
speak
I love that guy too, man.
Biggie is like such a, like, he's the best guy.
And I've met him 2011 when I first joined FCW,
now.
you know, developmental territory.
Yeah.
And I love them right away because he's such a sweetheart
and he's such a big and strong guy.
But he doesn't, he doesn't like boast about it.
You know, he knows he's the strongest, but he's not like.
And you know, when he started joking with him,
he started getting all professional-like.
But he's just the best guy.
So that's why I got super happy for him
that he found the love of his life.
The wedding was unbelievable.
And I wish him nothing but the greatest
and the sweetest future
because he deserves it.
And seeing how much Chris, his wife,
makes him happy.
I'm just, I, my heart is full of love
seeing that for him.
I love that.
Can you tell us the first dance song?
Do you remember it?
No, that's for him.
What is your deal?
I love weddings.
I used to film weddings.
I do like weddings.
I used to film weddings in Santa Cruz.
So I know how beautiful that area is.
Did you guys go to the boardwalk also?
Yeah, we stayed on the boardwalk.
Wow.
Really?
Oh, I used to go there every weekend on dates back in high school.
Wow.
I actually...
I Googled, hey.
This place looks like a zombie land.
What was the last time it was relevant? But I guess it becomes
relevant in the summer like in the summers they come in they come out
because it was nobody there.
John Cena films Bumblebee there
at the boardwalk right? That was my first
casting as an extra. Oh wow.
John Cena's Bumblebee there and they did The Lost Boys there.
Um, us, Jordan Peele was also there,
done a lot of stuff there. It's a great area.
My goodness. Yeah. Did you go on any rides? It was a good time?
Oh no, they were closed. Rides?
Any rides? Oh, it was closed.
It was raining also. Oh.
Or drizzling. Drizzling. But the wedding was in Redwood of Santa Cruz.
Redwood of Santa Cruz, up in like the forest area.
Yes. It was so magical. It felt like the Lord of the Rings.
Yeah. Oh my gosh. That whole area.
Miro cried a couple of times this week.
Oh, so you'll cry when this happens.
That was his voice over there.
I was like, oh, yeah.
Oh, are you going to, do you want him in the operating room?
Mira?
Some people don't want their husbands in the operating room.
Oh, of course.
Oh, you have to be.
Some people don't.
Whatever she tells me.
We have a great doctor, so.
Oh, my.
I heard a guy had to hold one of the legs up during birth.
No, of course.
Would you do that?
Would I hold the leg?
Yeah.
I heard also.
Gary Gordon, is that his name?
What's his name?
I don't know what you're talking about.
The Street Profits.
Oh, yeah, yeah, okay.
Namontez, Dawkins, Angelo Dawkins,
I don't know why I called him by his government name.
His government name.
Oh my God, I don't know.
He brought his PlayStation in the room.
I was like, man, if you can do that,
then I can definitely get away with some stuff.
That was my real question.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You gonna bring the Xbox?
I expect.
I know you were going to, so yeah.
I always do.
You got to finish that GTA campaign, man.
That's right.
All right.
Well, congratulations, guys.
Congrats, guys.
Anything else you want to talk about before we...
I try to get them to say a message to Bear.
Yeah, what is our message to Bear?
Well, we've got to wait until Bear's here to tell them.
What is our message to Bear is that we love him and we accept him,
but we accept him exactly how he is.
He's like, wait, are we going to return him?
I'm going to move.
And that we, of course, have all these high hopes,
but we just want him to be healthy
and we're going to train him to be a good person.
You know, have good values and you know,
all that's the most important thing.
Now you're speaking about these things
and it's very interesting because
Because we're not.
when I was born and growing up, you know,
we never, we didn't even have a camera.
Like probably we have like 15 black and white pictures.
Back in the 60s, right?
He's right.
No, actually the sad part is this is, I was born in 1984.
So this is, we're talking about like current times.
We just in Bulgaria, we didn't have many extra things.
All the pictures were black and white.
Wow.
Yeah.
Okay.
Oh yeah.
Nobody even had cameras.
You're talking about video cameras?
Are you kidding me?
Like, 95, maybe, people starting to have cameras.
Yeah, they were rare even here.
Yeah, so, like, I'm just trying to put myself in the situation.
My dad leaving me a message on a camera.
Then when I grow up to be watching, that's kind of cool.
It's kind of crazy.
Yeah, exactly.
And we never get to experience because we didn't have the cameras.
Thank
But, yeah, what would you say?
Just do you, man.
Just do you.
you so
Be a good person.
You know, love the Lord.
Be a good person.
Know your foundation.
much
Don't let the wind just blow you left and right.
And everything will be all right.
for
Yeah.
It's really simple.
It's, I don't think, I mean, life is hard.
having
Don't get me wrong.
Life is hard.
Yeah.
But if you have your foundation
and if you know what you want, you can get that.
me.
I believe that.
It happened for me.
It happened for her.
I'm pretty sure it happened for a lot of other people.
But you have to have that belief and you have to have that.
To pursue it as well, because it's not easy, right?
Success doesn't just come,
you just sit on the couch and it becomes like you have to chase it.
Yeah.
But chasing also, you have to be true to yourself.
So true to yourself, chase, work hard, the sky's the limit.
Yeah.
Have good character.
You know, that's the foundation so much.
Be a giving person and be resilient.
I think resiliency is so important to teach a kid.
And the good stubborn.
And the what?
The good stubborn.
Miro says there's bad stubborn and good stubborn.
So be the good stubborn, which is essentially...
He's the bad stubborn, I'm the good stubborn.
He might be the most stubborn person I know.
Oh, wow.
I think so.
Good stubborn, obviously.
Good stubborn, of course, of course.
Like, very respectable stubborn.
Yeah.
You know, I love a person that does not budge.
Yeah, that's true.
Right, right.
It's like Never Give Up, but the Bulgarian version of it.
Wow.
Yeah.
Right.
