NASA released this picture
of comet 3I Atlas flying over Mars on October 4, 2025.
For amateur astronomers and regular individuals,
this picture reinforced their thoughts that 3I Atlas
is a perfect cylinder and thus must be artificial technology.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
After intense review,
it has been determined that Comet Atlas is not a cylinder and it's
just a regular comet.
If you see a headline claiming
the interstellar comet 3i Atlas is a cylinder, don't believe
it.
These rumors started over the weekend
when NASA released this and other images of the
comet as seen by Mars rover Perseverance.
The comet looks like a stubby line or cylinder simply
because the comet moved during the
rover and nav cam's time exposure.
This is a typical quote-unquote star trail,
and Comet Atlas has been determined to be
just another ordinary comet passing through our solar system,
as scientists now believe
thousands do every year.
They are now convinced that this is not an irregular event,
but we've only seen a few
of these interstellar travelers per their size alone.
In other words, sorry to bust your bubble,
Avi Loeb, but this comet shows no evidence
of alien technology whatsoever,
and it's just that, another regular comet.
