Well, today in Austin, we hit 85 degrees, the morning low 62.
There's your average of 55 and 77.
On this date, and it wasn't that long ago,
in 2019, we hit 31 degrees for a low temperature.
So it can get cold this time of year.
We do have a strong front headed this way in our extended forecast,
but I don't think it's going to get that cold just yet.
91, our record high in 2016.
As we look at the next few hours, no worries there.
We're not going to be in the freezing mark anytime soon.
Temperatures will be in the upper 60s by 3.
We'll
be
right
back.
Through the region, bringing
a cold front through Monday night into Tuesday morning.
And we'll notice the changes by then
and some thunderstorms possible as well.
Nothing on satellite and radar locally, just the clouds.
And there are a few sprinkles
that may occur mainly west of us this evening,
but most of us are just going to deal with clouds again
and probably more fog in the forecast,
just like we had this morning across parts of the area.
This doesn't go as late as 9, well, it goes to 9 p.m.
You can see some storms up there behind the banner showing up just
Just west of our viewing area, by tomorrow night and Tuesday morning,
this is an overnight event more than likely,
we could see some severe storms rolling through.
And that's why it's showing some heavier amounts of rain out
in the hill country, Mason being favored for that. All three out
of the four models have Mason getting half an inch to an inch of rain.
Fredericksburg, anywhere from a quarter to half an inch,
maybe six-tenths of an inch.
Austin on the low side until we get into probably Tuesday afternoon.
But we could get up to half an inch rain here in the city.
We'll just have to wait and see.
That's going to be Monday night through Tuesday
when our rain chances increase here.
Drops off Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday will be a lot cooler and windy.
Then rain chances, slim chance, returning by Friday and Saturday.
Wind gusts, this is future for tomorrow.
Going to be gusty, south and southwest winds.
These are gusts up to 15 to 25 miles per hour.
Today, we didn't have much of a problem with wind,
but tomorrow, a different story.
No severe weather impacts today, but tomorrow,
this is for tomorrow night and Tuesday morning,
marginal risk for severe storms, mainly north and west of Austin,
but Austin is included in that risk area, so we have to watch for that.
Highest risk of severe storms will be to our north and west,
Dallas and Abilene, up to Wichita Falls.
Lows tonight in the 60s and slim rain chances,
drizzle and fog mostly in the hill country.
High 35, mid 60s too.
Middle to upper 60s in our eastern counties,
for Austin, patchy fog, 66, 84.
Tomorrow, gusty winds in the forecast and humid.
And then our chance of storms will
be on Monday night through Tuesday morning.
Then notice those lows dropping into the 50s.
Some models have us even in the 40s by Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Friday, especially in the Hill Country,
so much cooler weather on the way.
