The clock is ticking. We're now less
than 48 hours away until election day.
Texas candidates are making their last rounds across
the state looking for more voters and
support. Fox 7 reporter Dominique Lay has more from San Antonio.
It's getting down to the wire here.
Texas for these races as we're seeing candidates
in San Antonio for both the Texas Senate as well
as governor. We have Gina Hinojosa here in San Antonio
as well as Jim Tallarico and Ken Jackson.
The polls will open up Tuesday for Texas to cast their ballot.
One of the big races catching most
voters attention, the race for Texas governor.
A recent study from Texas Southern University's
Barbara Jordan policy research is showing a tight race
with Governor Greg Abbott taking the lead over
For Gina Hinojosa, 50% to 47%.
And you're also got 2% supporting libertarian Pat Dixon.
Hinojosa is standing firm on her platform
to invest funding into public schools.
They're the largest employer in so many of our counties.
They're enshrined in our Texas Constitution
as being essential for the preservation of our liberties.
So many of us are proud products of Texas public schools.
I know I am, and they're worth fighting for.
And so that's why you see a coming together in support of our kids
and our Texas public schools
against a governor who has only hurt them.
Well, Abbott pushes his campaign on cutting taxes and border security.
Listen, I want to cut your taxes.
I voted for an income tax.
She voted for an inheritance tax.
She voted for property tax increases 40 times.
I'm for safe communities.
She's for defunding the police.
I'm for a secure border.
She voted for open border policies in sanctuary cities.
And I care about our children.
I don't want to see them transgendered at school.
And in the race for Texas Senate,
Democrat candidate James Tallarico leading Paxton 49% to 47%,
with 3% supporting Libertarian Ted Brown in San Antonio.
In the final days of this election,
they are coming at us with everything they've got.
The billionaire mega donors, the super PACs,
they have already spent more than $300 million
to try to stop us.
That is the most of any Senate race in American history.
And more is on the way.
They are scared.
They are terrified.
They see what we see, that we're about to win this election.
While Paxton saying at his rally in Georgetown last Saturday,
this race is bigger
than a Senate seat.
This isn't just red versus blue.
It's the America our founders gave us versus something
that they would never recognize.
So I am not exaggerating when I say if we lose Texas, we lose America.
I think that these rallies, I think it's the same thing.
I think it is telling your voters how...
7 o'clock, 7 o'clock, 7 o'clock.
