It's been so long since we've actually got some good rain.
So when people hear rain,
they want to make sure they're extra cautious.
And maybe some people decided to, you know,
sit Halloween out or maybe stay indoors.
But those that wanted to get out and trick or treat like we did,
we were in some rain.
It started off light and then just...
It really depended on your area.
Taking a look at this area, the coast, did get some rain.
Huntington Beach picked up a little bit of rain there as well.
And our mountain communities,
some locations picked up three inches of rain.
But to your earlier story about portions
of southwest getting in and out on that rainfall,
it was all courtesy of the same storm system.
A lot of moisture in the atmosphere.
Better conditions for at least Arizona clearing out.
But southern Utah still seeing some rainfall chances.
We're heading into Denver as well.
Storm system coming through the Dakotas,
bringing wind and heavy rainfall.
The Northeast looking good, nice and mild and cool.
Temperatures out towards New Orleans at 79 degrees.
Houston doing pretty well at 87 degrees.
And for Miami,
But still some thunderstorms rolling through
that portion of the country back here at home.
That storm system, as I just pointed out again,
shifting away from us and area of high pressures
building in behind it and the offshore trend will enhance,
especially going this weekend.
We may see some Santa Ana winds blowing through
for your Saturday and Sunday.
That's going to elevate our temperatures and dry us up some more.
Halloween weekend, we've got Crest Park
and San Bernardino County Mountains
picked up over three inches of rain.
Eagle Rock did really nice, 1.84 inches.
San Bernardino, over an inch of rain.
And Anaheim Hills, three-quarters of an inch of rain.
And Santa Monica, half an inch of rain there.
Back to the beach we go.
Beach has a statement still in place due to elevated surf.
Be careful.
High tide.
Six feet, just minor tidal overflow is possible and danger of currents.
That alert stays in effect through this afternoon
and then it will eventually lift.
So much better weather or better conditions out towards the beach.
But we are anticipating building high tide going into this weekend
and next weekend as well.
Meantime, sunshine, temperatures are warming up
at the beach eventually for your Saturday and Sunday.
We'll be in the low 80s, 75 degrees,
sunshine for inland areas from Boyle Heights into Anaheim.
Temperatures get a little bit of that increase, as I mentioned.
And courtesy of the winds going offshore that'll build in 77 degrees,
a really nice, beautiful afternoon for valleys in the IE,
extending all the way to areas like Fontana, Ontario, looking great.
Out towards Ventura County as well, mountain communities 57 degrees
and sunshine after some rain and even snow in Mountain High was being
reported due to that quick moving system and we're drying up as well.
Numbers for our high desert, 67 degrees with a lot
of sunshine for Palmdale and Lancaster and for Palm Springs.
If you're heading there, Coachella Valley, 80 degrees and we'll keep
on with the 80s holding steady through the weekend with sunshine.
