NFL Week 8 Coaching Hot Seat: Who's Next to Be Fired?

Who would you say, I guess, would be one of the first fired?
Because there's some really disappointing teams this year.
There's some teams that have just been a disaster.
Obviously, they're not going to fire Jim Harbaugh midseason.
But what do you think, Josh?
There's probably a handful, you're right.
There definitely have.
I mean, well, Aaron Glenn should not have even made it to this season.
And the fact
that you still somehow put up 33 points today.
But still lost to the Raiders
who had a total,
who Ashton Gentry has decided to just stop playing.
And, I mean, because Mike Washington Jr. took over the workload
at running back today with 25 carries.
So he is definitely one that should not be there.
Honestly, I was ready to text our group chat.
That Zach Taylor should be fired
if they ended up losing,
but I think he saved his job
with their comeback win today against the Titans.
You were down 13-0 to Tennessee.
Start the game.
Cam Ward had his best game of his career today.
This is his first time in his career
he threw for over 300 yards.
Still lost.
And they still lost.
But that was the type of game
because the Bengals were so heavily favored
as one of the top teams to watch in the AFC,
and it took to overtime to prevent them from going four and three
with losses to guys like the Browns and then the Titans.
And Zach Taylor just hasn't done anything really
since the miraculous run they had in 2021 getting to the Super Bowl.
So he was one that I honestly thought could have been on the hot seat,
kind of simmered off a little bit thanks to them coming back today.
So those are two different ones.
And then I'm forgetting his name off the top of my head,
but I mean, the Colts already fired their GM.
They're already training everybody.
Might as well just have the Waterboy coach him at this point
because they can't get any worse than what they are now.
They might as well put Richardson in.
Yeah, why not?
Why not?
Why not at this point?
That's a great question.
Once they trade Jonathan Taylor,
you got to put Richardson in to secure you get the best pick possible
because he can't even throw a five-yard.
He can't throw a five-yard out.
That thing will hit the hot dog man.
John, I do have to remind you, their pick goes to the New York Jets.
Oh, I know.
Oh, my gosh.
They wanted Sauce Gardner.
The Jets currently have three of the top ten picks
in the draft this upcoming year.
You've got to make sure Rich is thinking.
And by the way, it's lovely that the quarterbacks,
after all this, they suck now.
So this year, the quarterback that everybody was rushing to tank for,
now all those quarterbacks are bootylicious.
They could pick three of them and just see which one works.
I just don't know.
I'm looking at the landscape.
I'm looking around like Aaron Glenn's not going to make it.
No, I don't know what Miami is going to do, but that looks disastrous.
They probably knew that going in.
I think Tennessee is probably more surprised internally than anyone
at how bad they actually look.
Really?
Because the way that, yes, because you brought in Robert Stoller,
who I kind of felt like got a bad run with the Jets.
I agree with you.
But at the end of the day, you went to the Titans.
Yeah, it wasn't like you went up.
You went lateral, baby.
It was a lateral move, and now you were suffering lateral consequences.
And they're quick with the trigger, too.
So there's some organizations where you got to be careful
where you take that job at.
And I think at this rate,
a lot of these teams really feel like in the NFL,
you go from worst to first like that.
There's no reason for us to be this bad this long.
And I think that's why we get a lot of quick turns around here.
I don't really see Harbaugh walking away
like I mentioned previously before,
but other than that, I don't really see
anybody getting booted anytime soon.
Nick Sirianni, anybody?
Should.
Nah, he got a Super Bowl, man.
And listen, regardless of how I feel about him coaching,
I've watched him get outcoached, like, routinely.
But in his defense,
Something's not right with Saquon.
Sure.
Goodbye.
Devonta Smith, invisible now.
All of a sudden, A.J. Brown's gone.
Now a thin guy gets hurt.
Shocker.
And then you have what happened to Jalen Hurts.
So I just think with all the cards have fallen down on him,
you can't fire him.
You can't fire him.
And also, despite winning tonight,
I definitely think Dan Quinn is on his last legs in Washington as well.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, so that's another one.
Now, he ain't getting fired this week because he just won a game,
but he is definitely one that,
unless the Commanders have some miraculous turnaround,
he is absolutely one that's gone.
