Let's check in with Richard Giacobis.
He's with Kate Conley's team tonight.
Richard.
And Steve, the Kate Conley camp knows just what Mike Lawler is saying.
They're aware of this chaos that's
been unfolding across the Hudson Valley today
that's been plaguing their campaign and his campaign.
But the Democratic candidate for the 17th congressional race,
despite all that chaos, is stressing the same thing,
that every vote should be counted
and we must wait for all of those results to play out.
We caught up with Kate Conley earlier today while she was voting in her
Chappaqua, forced to place her ballot like everyone else
in those orange envelopes.
Campaign headquarters here in Pleasantville,
both Chappaqua and Pleasantville, if you're
not familiar, are part of the sliver of Westchester County
that makes up this 17th congressional
district where the political newcomer
and Army vet is expected to win, at least in this
part of Westchester.
It's one of the last remaining swing districts,
and it could have an impact, as Linda mentioned,
on the balance of power in D.C.
Conley, who has prided herself on affordability,
specifically with health care and utility bills
in this race was telling voters today, like Mike Lawler,
Her opponent not to give up on voting despite the snafu.
There's a technical issue that there will find a bipartisan solution to
and make sure that the integrity
of this process is absolutely maintained.
I have confidence that every ballot is going to be counted as cast.
And look, I just voted myself, right?
Like we're adapting, we're overcoming.
But at the end of the day, the most important thing
is for folks to not be dissuaded.
Come out, have your voice heard, be part
of the change that we need here in the Hudson Valley
and canly across the country.
Now Conley says she also is confident in the process itself.
Her campaign headquarters expected
to let us in within the next two hours.
The Westchester County Board of Elections also promising
that every vote will be counted and that results will come
in on time once the polls close at nine o'clock.
We're live in Pleasantville tonight.
