2026 Mass. midterm election: Mike Mingoue reacts after conceding race to Governor Maura Healey

Let's bring in Boston 25's Lisa Pappas live in Burlington at Minogue headquarters. He addressed his supporters just a short time ago. Yeah, just about 10 minutes ago, we heard from Mike Minogue. He says he called Governor Maura Healey to concede this race. Hundreds of his supporters packed his watch party here in Burlington tonight. Of course, many of them now disappointed by the results of this election. Minogue thanked his family, his team, and his supporters. He says he's proud of his campaign, that he ran on integrity to try to make Massachusetts better and more affordable, but he couldn't pull off the win. Tonight, The voters have spoken. The results are not what we had hoped for and certainly not what we worked for. We knew it would be uphill, but we also knew this is a tipping point for the election for our state. So thank you. And I just spoke with Mike Minogue on the side here two minutes ago. I asked him what's next, whether he'd consider running for office again. He says at this point right now, he just needs to focus on his family, take a break, try to finally get a good night's sleep. We're live in Burlington. I'm Lisa Pappas for your local station, Boston 25 News. That was exactly what I was going to ask you. I know you just spoke with him, and whether he had any other political plans in the future, we know he's a successful business person. He runs a lot of foundations, but obviously a dedicated family man with five kids there. It is a lot to do a statewide campaign, Lisa. Yeah, for sure. And his five children were here. His wife was here tonight. He, of course, gave many thanks to his family. He kind of joked. He said his children will be happy to not see him on social media constantly. Tomorrow, he might go for a run without actually filming it, without actually campaigning. So he's ready to take a break, but he is very proud of the campaign he ran here. All right, Lisa, thank you.
