Tonight, the search continues for a young girl
who has been missing now for more than a week.
Concerns for her well-being continue to grow.
Action News reporter Brianna Gallagher was back
at the 10-year-old's West Philadelphia home
where she spoke with family members.
For over a week now, 10-year-old Delaysha Alford has been missing.
Investigators were here all day,
and sources tell me they're now working to piece together
a timeline of her last known movement
as they continue to gather evidence.
And tonight, I spoke with family.
They are praying for her safe return.
It's just horrible, right?
She's a baby.
The search intensifies for 10-year-old Delaysha Alford.
She has not been seen for more than a week now.
For her to be missing for this many days.
It's just crazy.
Tonight, police and the FBI were back out
on the 500 block of North Simpson Street,
gathering more evidence.
Anything that might lead them to where Delisha could be.
Investigators are sorting through conflicting accounts on the case.
Their focus, though, remains on the home where she was in foster care.
It's concerning because my brother's dealing with,
like, the mental health thing and...
I'm concerned about two lives now.
While family hasn't seen her in two years,
at one point they say they attempted to gain custody of her.
I'm just really torn up because she was in DHS custody
and there was a time where I tried to get her.
They came to my home and they looked it over and then I was ignored.
Investigators are concerned for her safety.
They say she is 4 feet 11 inches tall wearing glasses
and was last seen in a blue school uniform.
You just thought she was safe and clearly she isn't.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts
is urged to call the authorities.
Reporting here in West Philadelphia,
Brianna Gallagher for Action News at 10 on PHL 17.
