Wisconsin election: Milwaukee Central Count tech issue

Almost, guys. So I'm going to step away while you're watching. Paulina Gutierrez, director of the City Election Commission, just said that during the download, one of the USB ports on one of the tabulating machines seems to have had an issue. So the stick says that it downloaded. What she just told us is that it did not download properly. So they are reformatting a new flash drive and then having to go do that tabulating machine once more. So her team appeared to have completed all five of its tabulating machines, but this is a delay in that process. The second team is on the fourth of its five tabulating machines and still working through them. So this is going to delay things just a bit. She's reformatting it now with her team, which will sign off on it, doing it all in public view again, as we see here. So what's the time frame? What are we waiting on? And is there any reason to believe this affects any of the races? It probably does not, right? No. That data would continue to be, you would think, held on the machine. See, we're wheeling over here. Each of these machines has taken about 10 minutes or so, 10 to 15 minutes, and having to go through that again. So we'll just follow along here as she goes to that machine. So it is shades of primary night in a way. Okay. Without the major disruptions that that caused, and they're not driving it across town, they're just bringing it to another tabulator. Key distinction, though. Please. Primary night was human error. Yeah. Human error. This appears to have been tech or kind of infrastructure error. She said there was a problem with the USB port. Not sure if that was with the USB stick itself. I'm going to do it myself. And it's not like she or her team had pressed any wrong buttons. It's just from what she said, it was that. There was an issue with the actual port. So this is a case of being fully transparent and just saying, hey, this went wrong. Follow us along. We're going to fix it right here. And it seems like if you're going to have a problem, it's better to have it with the port versus the actual stick because you could put it into a different port. Thank you very much for it. But again, just there being, I'm sure, extra cautious there by making sure. So this just started, so that could take another 10 minutes or so. Sam? Yeah, roughly. The longest part is the actual download itself. She's printing the report right now, which is kind of like the initial, as I'm looking here off camera, at the procedure kind of pamphlet that they have printed here so that everyone can see it. Yeah, they print two final precinct process reports. One is to send with the results themselves. The other is to keep for... Sam, we're going to go over a few election results.
