7:46. I want to just give you a little review.
Maybe you missed it. I got to be honest with you.
I slept through it because it happened after my shift.
I took like a little afternoon nap and I woke up to say,
okay, yes, it did rain. And it rained quite a bit, actually.
I mean, we had almost an inch of rain measured at Bush Airport
and there were some isolated locations got more than an inch of rain
with those downpours coming in during the early part of the afternoon
and middle part of the afternoon yesterday.
What's left behind in its place? Much cooler air. Now,
I'm not going to say it's cold out, but it does feel pretty terrific.
Of course, the sun is up, and so these temperatures will quickly warm
from the 50s now into the 60s
and eventually near 80 for later on this afternoon.
Here's a look at those future cast temperatures,
and by around 1 or 2 this afternoon,
we should see middle and upper 70s across the area,
which will feel pretty terrific,
and it will come along with very low humidity as well.
Temps by 5 p.m., though, should
be falling back down to the low and middle 70s.
And then look at that.
By this evening, if you're going out for a stroll,
stroll, maybe walk in the dog.
Of course, you know, the sun goes down at 530.
It's going to be most likely in the middle 60s by then.
Tomorrow morning, about 56.
Slight chance for rain along the coast late Thursday, early Friday.
Another chance for rain, kind of a blanket across
the area Saturday night into Sunday.
And that comes along, by the way, with some cooler temperatures.
We might stay kind of dreary and drippy through the day on Sunday.
And that comes along with high temperature.
of about 65 degrees.
How do you like that coming up on Sunday?
And then next week, following that reinforcing front,
we'll probably get down to about 49, maybe 50 degrees
coming up on Monday and Tuesday for next week.
So looking pretty fantastic.
The best chances for rain, again,
come in on that Saturday through early Sunday timeframe,
and also along the coastline.
So we're talking about Matagorda, Brazoria County,
maybe Galveston County getting in
on a few showers coming up.
For Thursday night into early in the day on Friday, of course,
we'll continue our election coverage coming up after this as well
as a look at how the temperatures are just now beginning to rise with a
response to the nothing but sunshine that we have out there right now.
So, well, I guess we're going to take another look at a few things
that are happening out there. Let me just take you here real quick
to the Atlantic Ocean where one thing we are tracking for you here.
is the potential that a tropical system could form out there.
Now, we are still technically in hurricane season,
but we are completely past the Texas hurricane season.
And this is the time of the year
when we have really strong west to east blowing winds.
So just like this across the Gulf and across the Atlantic.
So anything that forms out there wouldn't be coming our way.
But that being said, the National Hurricane Center
is watching this little spot out there
to the east of the Bahamas that has a slight chance of becoming either
a tropical storm or probably a subtropical storm.
And if it does, it would be the K storm, which would be named Kyle,
and that one would move away from us, so no impact on us.
Another look at that seven-day forecast here, guys.
We are looking for a fantastic, this is what I like to see,
overnight lows each day falling into the 50s.
We'll be back with more.
