Heather, we hear a lot about energy efficiency. What is that exactly? Energy efficiency is the use of energy for better results. So a cooler home in the summer and a warmer home in the winter for using less energy to do it. I like that because I bet that really translates to the bottom line. Yes. So as a homeowner, what are some things that we should be looking out for that might be an indicator we are inefficient? So you're looking at your electric bill and you or your gas bill and you're like, Wow, that is, you know, a lot of money, or that it keeps increasing. You get those alerts from National Grid or Eversource where it's like, you're using more energy than your neighbors, and you're like, am I? And so we can come in and check and see why you're using more energy than your neighbors and the people in your neighborhood. Or you're walking through your house and you're like why is it drafty right here? I'm in my dining room and there's a breeze coming in. What is that from? Or you're just sitting there watching TV with your family and you're like, this is, I can't get the room warm enough or cool enough in the summer to be comfortable and you're having to jack up the heat in the winter and bring down the AC in the summer and it's just not efficient. And you're telling homeowners also, don't just jump to that solution. Really think about the assessment. What will that reveal? So when we come into your home, we're going to look at your house as a whole. We're also going to look at every room in your house. We're going to make sure that all the rooms are efficient so that everything's working together to lower those bills to make your home more comfortable for you to be in. And then what? What are some of the solutions? So air sealing, insulation are huge. I always joke that my my mom was painting and she shut the oil switch off and our home had just been insulated and air sealed and we didn't notice because it was just the heat had stayed in and was so nice and comfortable it wasn't until i said oh it's getting a little bit chilly in here i noticed that the heat wasn't even on but the house it was so efficient that it took us a while to realize that yeah that's amazing those are those are the Goals when it comes to getting through the winter and doing good in these old houses.
