Adam Kruger back with you for the forecast now.
And of course, here at 537, it's almost
completely dark out there.
Gorgeous view, though, of the just post sunset. Nice colors on the
horizon. I was just looking this up.
And the next time we get a sunset after five o'clock is January
9th, a little more than two months from now.
So it was dark afternoons and evenings on upon us for
a while here. Let's talk about our forecast, though.
We have a lot going on as quiet as it
As it is right now, coming up, we've got some stuff happening.
So first of all,
Temperatures will be warming at the end of the week.
We get back into the 80s in part because of Santa Ana winds,
probably a low-end Santa Ana wind event.
There's also a coastal flood advisory
that starts Friday for at least parts of our area
and thinking way ahead into the end of next week,
a big overall pattern shift for the West Coast
and maybe heading into a wetter pattern
for a lot of us here in California.
But right now we are dry, we are sunny.
We've got a couple of systems passing by off towards our north.
But the arrangement of this low right here and this approaching high
Pause it on Friday.
You can see how the winds kind of shoot between the two of these.
That's going to boost those winds, offshore winds.
We call it a Santa Ana wind, and that's
going to create some dry conditions
and some gusty spots in the usual Santa Ana wind-prone corridors.
Here's an example of that Friday.
If you look where there's the yellow to red colors,
that's where the gustiest winds will be.
So part of the Santa Clarita Valley, part of the San Fernando Valley,
and then kind of through the corridor there.
Of the 15 right here and then through the Inland Empire to part
of the Santa Ana Mountains and then out towards Palm Springs
and the Coachella Valley could be some gusty winds there as well.
Same story on Saturday. Also, a coastal flood advisory
in effect for now from Orange County South, although
that might get extended into parts of L.A. County and Ventura County.
But we're looking at higher high tides coming our way.
Friday through Tuesday, but peaking Saturday through Monday,
and the highest high tides
will be happening during the early morning hours.
We expect high tides to peak around 7.4 to 7.7.
Not quite as high as the really high tides
we had going back about a week or so, but
At that point, we didn't see much in terms of waves.
And this time, we do expect elevated surf.
So this is going to cause at least minor
flooding for a good portion of the coast
where there might be parking lots,
parks, and some roads covered in water
and maybe locally moderate flooding in the usual spots.
You think about Newport Beach, for example.
We saw what the high tides did there last go-around.
All right, so here's our pattern as we go forward.
This is Friday.
And again, the low and high set up to bring those winds,
Santa Ana winds through here for a day or two.
As we continue into next week, high pressure keeps us warm.
80s for the highs for our area
and then as we go into Wednesday of next week we got a couple of
things lined up off towards our west.
This one potentially brings some rain our way. This one
though looking much more likely to bring widespread rain
to the west coast. Here's a snapshot of what
at least one model shows for Wednesday of next week.
So this is that first system. Here's the
next one and we're kind of in line for the storm systems
to arrive on the west coast and start
Start impacting our weather.
But between now and then, we've got dry weather.
So now through the next seven days, it's going to be dry.
It's going to be warmer.
Average is 76 this time of year.
We're going to 80 tomorrow, 83 Friday, mid-80s this weekend,
and more 80s next week for L.A. and Inland Orange County.
At the coast, temperatures down a little, but still pretty warm here.
Upper 70s Thursday, and then Friday through Sunday,
we're over 80 degrees, down a couple degrees next week.
And the valleys in the Inland Empire, we've got those temperatures
running in the 80s for several days in a row as well.
Quick look at the mountains here.
Cooler, of course, 50s for the next couple of days,
then up around 60 by Sunday.
And then the high desert, it's a stretch of 70s for several days,
and the low desert will be in the 80s for several days.
Christine?
