Two days before election day,
a Democrat walked out of a church in Detroit and set her own party
Senate race on fire. Not a Republican, guys.
Not some pundit out there somewhere. A card-carrying
Democrat. Congresswoman Haley Stevens,
the woman that Chuck Schumer personally handpicked for the
Senate seat, strolled out of perfecting church
with Republican Mike Rogers right beside her.
You can't even make this stuff up, guys. Oh.
And endorsed him over her own party's nominee, Abdul El-Sayed.
Now, talk about a closing hymn.
Picture Michigan's Democrat war room.
Phones buzzing like a kicked hornet's nest.
One intern Googling, is it too late to switch majors?
And Abdul El-Sayed, he took it like a grown man.
No, I'm just kidding.
No, he didn't.
One reporter asked one question about Haley Stevens,
and he stormed out like somebody
just unplugged his Xbox,
seconds after lecturing everybody about freedom of the press.
Free press, guys, apparently comes with terms and conditions, right?
So then, of course, the meltdown, it went national.
Chuck Schumer, her old cheerleader,
is now calling her a despicable betrayal.
Now, apparently that
Friendship had the shelf life of gas station sushi.
Nancy Pelosi calls it horrific. Gavin
Newsom chimes in from California because,
of course, no microphone is safe from Gavin Newsom.
And James Carville, the party of women's favorite uncle,
calls her something that's so vile you need
holy water for your ears.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is praising her bravery. And now
a black Democrat in Michigan says
that she's crossing over to Rogers too.
It's not a defection anymore, guys.
This is more like a carpool. Oh, and my favorite part,
when Liz Cheney crossed the aisle,
they actually threw her a parade and they called her a hero.
You guys remember Liz Cheney.
When Haley Stevens does it, oh, she's a traitor. It's funny how the
rules only work in one direction.
Well, today, guys, you're going to see everything that the
media tiptoed around, the walkout, the double standard,
the moment a lifelong Democrat looked
I looked in the mirror and
Picked country over party.
Now, real quick, folks, if you
or somebody you love is turning 65 years old, maybe you're
on Medicare, Chapter offers completely free Medicare help.
Plain English, zero pressure, folks.
Give them a call. I left their phone number
in the description down below and their link to the
website. Phone number is 909-563-8279.
They're saving the average senior about $1,100 a year.
And I promise you, it is way less painful than a Carvel interview.
Go ahead and hit subscribe,
guys, because unlike Abdul,
we never run away from a question. And if we earned it,
hit the like button. Totally appreciate your support.
I want to set the scene quickly.
Sunday morning, Detroit perfecting church.
The choir is all warmed up. The ushers are
guarding the good pews like the Secret Service.
And there are church hats that are big enough to
land a helicopter on. Sunday best. Yep. Uh-huh.
So Haley Stevens sits through the whole service,
sings the hymns, and then she walks outside.
And then right next to her, Mike Rogers,
the Republican. She looks him straight in the lens and says,
Abdul said that I was no longer
Welcome, and he's right.
You could hear a hymnal hit the floor.
Her reason, it fit in five words. We can't stand
with hate. And within hours,
President Donald Trump is on Truth Social praising her bravery.
J.D. Vance is talking about it too.
Meanwhile, Michigan Democrats are refreshing their phones,
praying that this is a deep fake.
Well, I hate to break it to you, Democrats. It wasn't AI.
My vote for Senate, I am just one vote, as is every Michigander.
My vote for Senate is going
to be with Mike Rogers, and I will tell you why.
Because we have to stand with country.
We can't stand with hate. We can't stand with Hassan Piker.
A friend of mine was talking about how education is on the ballot,
and it's very true.
Now, there's a lot of young people looking at this election.
You know, I was a young person once, and we've got to make a choice.
About who is standing with them.
I think that Chuck Schumer is going to become
the majority leader, you know, and I think
that there are incredible Democrats
and incredible activity taking place across this country.
I stood with my party and I was booed off the stage.
48 hours before election day, you could not script the timing.
Real quick, if you would
rather hear the chaos rather than watch it while driving,
folding some laundry or just
pretending to work, the Ron Yates Report is now on Spotify.
Search it up, follow it, take
it with you guys. Fair warning,
James Carville sounds even worse than your earbuds.
So now, before anybody yells trader,
let's go ahead and rewind the tape, shall we?
August.
Primary night, Stephens loses to Abdul El-Sayed by like a hair.
So what does she do? Well,
she did the only grown-up thing possible.
She endorsed him. Team player, gold star.
And how does her party say thank you?
In her own words, she got booed off a stage.
And then Abdul El-Sayed's campaign told her to stay away.
Oh, and it gets even worse than that.
Her former campaign chair, David Cramer,
crossed over to Rodgers, then her fiancé, Jason Turkish,
a prominent Jewish Democrat.
He says the breaking point came at a debate. When Abdul El-Sayed
compared Israel to Iran as a threat to America,
he said he just couldn't live with himself staying
quiet about it. So, let's get this straight.
They locked her out of the house. Then they
called her a traitor for standing in the yard.
Oh, this is not betrayal, guys. This is more
Now, you already know that one friend that says,
I'm a lifelong Democrat, I would never.
Go ahead and sit on this video, don't even argue,
just hit share, let Haley Stevens do
all the talking, and then watch the group chat go very, very quiet.
Now, picture the press conference, podium,
a wall of microphones, a reporter asks the
obvious question, what about Haley Stevens?
Huh?
Oh, and you can watch it happen, the jaw tightens,
the eyebrows drop, the smile packs its bag
It leaves the building.
I'm not in the business of driving clicks for you.
Buddy, you're running for the United States Senate.
Answering questions is the business.
Apparently, you didn't understand the deal.
So then he just turns and walks off.
Reporters chasing him down the hall, shouting, doctor, doctor, doctor.
Is this guy a doctor?
For real?
For real?
Like a hospital show.
I thought we were watching, like, Grey's Anatomy.
Except the patient is his campaign.
That night, Haley Stevens tells CNN why she switched.
Abdul just kept...
Kept getting angrier and angrier.
And so this wasn't like one just, it's not just one bad day.
Clearly, this is a pattern.
One question about one woman and he's gone.
We take questions that you keep your questions focused
on the issues that Michiganders really
care about.
Now, I might not drive clicks for you.
I get it.
I understand your business, right?
But they're the issues that Michiganders are paying attention to.
And I'm not in the business of driving clicks for you.
I'm in the business of trying to solve
problems for the people in my state.
So if you want to ask me questions about
the issues that the people in my state are facing,
I am happy to answer them.
If you want to ask me questions about some intrigue
and about two folks who aren't here right now,
I'm going to be less interested in asking.
I'm just putting it out there.
None
of
this
matters.
None of this matters.
So the question ultimately is this.
Guys, guys, guys, guys.
Do you understand?
None of this matters.
You know what matters?
There's a family.
You can go like 15 minutes that way
or 15 minutes that way or 15 minutes that way.
And there are families who are preparing to send their kids
to schools tomorrow that look like they did 50 years ago.
They're worried about what they're going to feed their kids for lunch.
They're worried that if one of their kids gets sick,
they're not going to be able to pay the bills.
Those are the things that matter.
I would hope, I would hope, honestly,
like you guys, we have a democracy, right?
Democracy's founded on a couple of things.
The ability to vote.
Yes, and they're trying to take it away.
The other one is freedom of assembly.
And the third is freedom of the press.
But y'all, please, I would hope that you all want to ask questions
that are relevant to that family.
Put this guy in a Senate hearing
and they're going to need a revolving door.
Now, here's the best part. It's what he said right before.
Abdul, he gives the room a little
civics lesson. Democracy, he says, stands on a few pillars.
The right to vote, freedom of assembly,
and freedom of the press. Freedom of the press. Then.
Same answer, he tells the press which questions they're allowed to ask.
Hmm, now picture a guy reading the Bill
of Rights out loud, and then tearing out the
First Amendment and using it as a napkin.
Questions about Haley Stevens? Oh, I'm not
interested in that. That's just intrigue about two folks
who aren't here right now.
Ask anything you want, folks, as long as it's on Abdul's approved menu.
This is not a press conference, guys.
This is a hostage video with some better lighting.
Michigan voters showed up with questions.
Abdul El-Sayed, he showed up with a rule book.
And during that same lecture, Abdul dropped his gem.
Oh, this was an absolute gem, guys.
We have a democracy, right? Oh, Abdul, class is in session.
America is a constitutional republic.
You and I, we vote for people who lead us.
This is the democracy part. But the Constitution
sits on top like a referee.
It protects rights that no crowd, no mob, and no grumpy Senate
candidate can vote away. Free speech.
A free press. Including a reporter's right to ask
you about Haley Stevens
while you glare at them like they just keyed your car. The founders
Founders built it this way on purpose
because they had met politicians like you, sir.
So, Abdul, friendly tip. Before you lecture America on how it works,
maybe read the owner's manual.
You tell me folks, democracy or republic? Settle it in the comments,
I'm going to read what you guys are saying.
Now, remember what Haley Stevens said outside
the church?
I do not stand with Hassan.
Hasan Piker. He is a political streamer with a million,
probably millions of followers now,
Who's Hassan by the way?
a very expensive gaming chair,
and a microphone that nobody should leave him alone with.
Now, Abdul campaigned with this guy,
on purpose and public. Back in 2019,
Hasan Piker said on a stream that America deserved 9-11.
He later tried to walk it back,
but Americans have very long memories, especially when you
make statements like that.
Then came the grocery store ad,
a viral ad backing Abdul that blamed Israel for your
grocery bill.
Yes, your eggs cost a fortune because of Israel, apparently.
Not inflation.
Not Washington.
Israel.
Stevens urged Abdul to disavow it.
He said his campaign had nothing to do with it.
Her message was simple.
Shut out the hate.
Well, he decided to shut her out instead.
We get all the sandwich stuff for the kids' lunch.
They don't like turkey anymore.
Yeah, I know.
What about the bananas?
Yeah, I got them too.
But, honey.
What?
You're going to have to put those eggs back.
They don't like eggs anymore?
No, they like eggs.
But we have to set that $7 aside for killing Palestinians.
What?
I mean, don't we give Israel $4 billion a year anyways?
Yeah, and now we're giving them another $26 billion.
Do you know how much that is per American taxpayer?
It's like $161 per person.
Apparently it's costing us a lot of money to drop bombs on Gaza.
It's terrible.
Don't they get universal health care too?
Yeah, they do.
We're paying for that too, probably.
Might as well put the bananas back.
Why the f*** do we have to pay for all this?
Don't cuss at me.
Why does Mike Rogers care so much about what Israelis want
and so little about what you want?
Mike Rogers is for they-them.
Abdul El-Sayed is for...
And then, of course, there's James Carville.
He got a microphone. Picture it, guys. The raging
Cajun, red face, squinting into the camera,
kind of like it owes him money. The elder statesman of
the party that loves to call itself Party of Women.
Yes, the Party of Women. He has a message
for a woman who disagreed with him.
He tells Haley Stevens, that's all Republicans will ever
see her as, a used condom. Wow.
A used condom, guys, on television, out loud.
But your political career is over.
If you think that these Republicans are going to treat you
as anything other than what they view you as, and that is,
let me just break the news to you, a used condom.
The Democrats don't even think you're worth a used condom,
but that's about where you are.
You made your bed, sleep in it, you ---- in your mess kit, eat it.
And, you know, at some point, if you.
Oh, I almost feel dirty saying that.
Where's my bar of soap? I'm sorry, guys. Then he keeps
on going, because apparently James Carville wasn't done.
You made your bed? Sleep in it.
Then a crack about her and John Fetterman opening
a cheeseburger restaurant.
James, buddy, you're not helping.
Oh, and here's the funny part.
This is the same James Carville who spent years warning
his party that it's drifting too far left
and scaring off normal voters. Well, James,
normal voters just watched you. Congratulations.
You just proved your own point.
So now the part that really should kind of make
your jaw hit the floor. Back in the primary,
Chuck Schumer, he backed Haley Stevens.
That's right. Haley Stevens was his pick.
The Senate Democrat boss practically drove her to the polls himself.
Put your seatbelt on, honey.
Now, a despicable betrayal.
Picture Chuck Schumer in the summer,
shaking her hand and grinning for the cameras, and
Chuck Schumer in November, acting like he's never seen her before.
Then the dog pile.
DNC chair, Ken Martin, betrayal, Nancy Pelosi, horrific,
Hakeem Jeffries, swearing Abdul will always put Americans first.
Gavin Newsom calling in from California,
a vote for Mike Rogers is a vote for Trump.
Gavin, this is not the threat that you think it is.
Then it got ugly, guys.
Mehdi Hassan called her deranged.
Others said that she belongs in some mental hospital.
Piers Morgan piled on from across the pond her crime,
thinking for herself. In America,
how dare she do that? And then, of course,
a frequent MSNBC contributor posts this.
If Abdul loses, the fire will rise. There will be a reckoning.
People will be radicalized.
Wow, these sound like some severe threats. This is the same
crowd that spent years telling us, mean tweets are violence.
Words are violence. Your Thanksgiving
uncle is violent. But the fire will rise?
Oh, that's just passion. Okay, well, Haley
Stevens didn't lose an argument. No.
She got excommunicated, guys, in front of the whole congregation.
And she's not the first.
Notice the pattern, folks.
Democrats love black voters, right up until one turns conservative.
They love women until one disagrees with them.
They love Hispanic Americans until one puts on
an ICE uniform to protect the border.
Step out of line once, and the party of love and tolerance
Turns into a pitchfork festival.
Stevens is just the newest name on the list.
Now, let's go ahead and play
a little fun game called Spot the Double Standard.
Anybody up for it? Okay, let's go ahead and get started.
2024, Liz Cheney of Wyoming crosses
party lines and campaigns with Kamala Harris,
and the Democrats roll out the red carpet. CNN,
MSNBC, The View, So Brave, A True Patriot, Country Over Party.
2025, Haley Stevens crosses party lines and campaigns with Mike Rogers.
Traitor! Same move,
opposite direction. Funny how that works, right?
Here's the kicker. Even the view Sarah Hines
called Stevens brave.
When you've lost the view, guys, the party is over.
And it's not just Stevens.
Tulsi Gabbard walked away from the Democrats.
So did RFK Jr. President Trump didn't call them
Them traders, he gave them jobs.
This is the difference, folks.
One side welcomes you in, the other side burns the bridge while
you're still standing on it.
So, why are Democrats betting the whole farm on this one guy? Well,
I think it's a pattern. It's pretty clear here.
I mean, up in Maine, they lined up behind Graham
Plattner. The man had to cover up a tattoo linked
to a Nazi symbol, and the party said,
looks great, ship it. Now, look at New York, guys.
When Stevens endorsed Rogers,
guess who interrupted? Mayor Zoran Mamdani.
And of course, her old friend, Hassan Piker,
Michigan, Michigan, is that the future you
ordered? Because it doesn't come
with a return policy. I hate to tell you that.
Then, of course, there's Dearborn,
Abdul on stage thanking local officials. Is he running
for all of Michigan or just one corner of it?
Meanwhile, Ted Cruz, he flew in from Texas to
stand with Mike Rogers. And somewhere in Florida,
folks are watching from a beach chair, glad it's
And it's not on their ballot.
One more crack in the damn, guys.
A black Democratic state representative
goes on with Laura Ingraham.
She says that she and her husband are voting for Mike Rogers.
Her reason, health care, health insurance,
and in her words, basic common sense.
You're a Democrat, so why isn't El-Sayed getting your vote?
Because I am using just basic common sense,
Laura, and thank you for having me.
It is so important that people just realize that, you know,
it comes a time that you have to say, you know, I just need
the one thing, the one thing that's going to make me vote for someone.
And that one thing that makes me vote for Mike Rogers,
me and my husband, is health insurance.
You remember where Stevens made her stand?
A black church in Detroit with voters that
Abdul has struggled to win all year.
Haley Stevens still calls herself a proud Democrat.
She says 90% of her votes go to Democrats.
She disagrees with Republicans on almost everything.
And she endorsed a Republican anyway, not for a job, not for a TV deal.
She walked out of a church, looked in the mirror.
And picked country over party.
Whatever Michigan decided tonight, that moment isn't going anywhere.
And neither is the question that she asked.
So that's the story, guys.
One church, one endorsement, one walkout,
and a whole political party melting down in
real time.
Now, before you go, do me a favor.
If this video made you laugh, made you mad,
made you text somebody, did you see this?
Hit the like button on the way out.
It takes one second and it pushes the story past the folks
who would rather you never
see it.
And if you're not subscribed yet, go ahead and fix that, guys.
We will keep asking the questions that Abdul walks away from.
And if you want to take this on the go,
the Ron Yates Report also lives on Spotify.
Go ahead and search me up, hit follow,
and bring me along on your next drive.
It's cheaper than therapy and twice as entertaining.
We'll see you next time.
