James Kaufman, World News Report, today.
Today is July 3rd, 2025.
God bless you and yours, no matter where you are in the world.
Please subscribe, give us a thumbs up,
ring that bell for critical future updates.
NASA names mysterious interstellar object
and JPL releases orbital diagram.
We have an update already on the newly discovered
mysterious interstellar object that is currently
in our solar system and inbound.
Newly discovered interstellar object A11PL3Z
is showing signs of an atmosphere and a tail.
Based on those two observations,
JPL has indicated that the space rock is a comet and not a meteor
or an asteroid.
Moreover, it has just received an official name
from the Minor Planet Center, 3L Atlas, or C2025 N1.
A comet is a celestial object consisting of a nucleus of ice and dust,
which, when passing close to the sun,
develops a visible coma or atmosphere, and sometimes a tail.
These dirty snowballs are remnants from their early solar systems
and can offer insights into their mother solar system's formation.
The very large object, which is said to be around 66,000 feet
in diameter and moving at 66 kilometers per second around
147,000 miles an hour, is already within Jupiter's orbit.
It is scary that this object has a solution date of yesterday,
July 2nd, after JPL says they have been observing it for 18 days
and had a total of 111 observations.
1, 1, 1. More numbers.
The strange part is, there is no condition code in the JPL details,
which is the first time I personally have seen this.
Take a look at where C2025N1 Atlas is currently.
You can see it right here inside the orbit of
Jupiter and headed to the inner solar system
to pass inside the orbit of Mars, in between the
orbit of Mars and Earth here.
It's kind of scary that an object this large was just recently spotted.
Let's play this through
and see what we can come up with so we can see that it does
in fact fly inside the orbit of Mars in between Earth and Mars.
And its close approach to Mars appears to be, and remember,
they don't have a close approach date given yet, but using
this orbital path, it appears to be around October 1st.
What about that date there?
Now, with absolutely no condition code whatsoever,
this is just pure speculation at this point.
Let's zoom
in and watch
that happen
again.
So JPL has Comet C 2025 N1,
In one minute.
making a close approach to Mars.
Around October 1st, but again, this is a preliminary orbital path
that has just been released today, and there's no condition code.
Now, we do have some good news here.
Depending on how correct the initial orbital diagram is,
it looks like Earth may be on the
opposite side of our solar system or the opposite side of our sun,
and this huge rock
flies through our inner solar system.
It also appears to make it outside the orbit of Mars
before Earth does come around,
as you can see there. Now, as indicated,
There is no close approach data, except for Jupiter's close approach.
The solution date here, July 2nd, yesterday,
late in the day, I reported it to you guys.
Total observations, 111 over 18 days.
First observed, June 14th, 2025.
And can you believe it?
This comet was not seen by automatic,
but an actual individual with a telescope.
Again, the strangest part about this is there's no condition code here.
So, this is preliminary information.
As soon as we do get a condition code,
and, well, this is more set in stone,
I will update
y'all about Comet C/2025 (N1).
God bless. Please share, subscribe, and always remember,
anything's possible in Bizarro World.
