I want to let you know about a news story that we
are following into our newsroom about a police
chase that, as you can see here,
ended in a fiery crash on Milwaukee's north side and actually sent
two teens to the hospital.
So this happened earlier this morning, as you can see, obviously
still very much dark out in these videos.
But the Wauwatosa Police Department is telling us
that officers tried to stop what they're calling a suspicious vehicle.
This was near 60th and Lisbon at around 2.10 earlier this morning,
again, Friday morning.
The driver, we're told, though, refused to stop,
and thus that prompted a pursuit and a police chase was underway.
The chase ended, though,
when the fleeing vehicle crashed into a tree near 61st and Melvina,
and as you can see here, caught fire and some...
Pretty big flames occurring.
So that's when the Milwaukee Fire
Department had to respond to the call.
You can see them here on scene extinguishing
those flames, putting out the fire.
As far as how many people were in this suspicious vehicle,
as police are calling it,
we're told there were four people inside.
Those four people all got out and ran.
Two of them were caught, while the other two are still on the run.
They have not been located.
But as for the two people who were caught,
that was a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy,
both taken into custody and to a hospital with what they're
calling non-life-threatening injuries after this crash.
So, of course, still a lot to learn here
and more pieces to put together.
Wauwatosa police have not told us what about
this vehicle was suspicious,
What kind of prompted them to attempt
to pull it over in the first place?
And again, we are not sure yet if either of those individuals
that were taken into custody were the driver
or if they are still searching for the other two individuals
that were involved in this that were able to get away.
So, of course, stick with us here on Fox 6,
whether that be on air or on Fox Local as we provide any updates.
But as you can see, a fiery crash earlier
this morning that was the end of a police chase.
Again, two individuals taken to the hospital after this.
With non-life-threatening injuries,
the other two people that were inside that vehicle
were able to escape. So again, any new information,
we'll let you know right here on Fox 6 Now.
