A Sweet Home Visit, Ice Cream in the Car, and Back to Memory Care 💜🍦 #DementiaCare

We brought Mama to the house for a visit while my husband was grilling. He really wanted her to be part of the moment, so we stopped by to see my son on the way and then headed to the house.

Mama was in her usual on-the-move mode — walking, pacing, and not too interested in settling down inside the house. That’s okay. Sometimes just being present is enough. 💜

On the ride back to the facility, hubby gave her some ice cream to keep her hands busy, and once that was gone, I handed her a fidget toy. She wasn’t interested in fidgeting, but that’s just Mama — she’s gonna do what she wants to do. 😅

Once we got back, she sat down for dinner, then back to walking.

Every visit is different, and every moment counts — even if it doesn’t go exactly how we imagined.
