Hey everyone! Are you ready for a freaking room tour? Let's do this! I just redecorated my bedroom
and I was inspired by anthropology and I also went into Pottery Barn and collected some magazines
from there just for inspiration. Pottery Barn can be a little bit on the pricey side but I find that
if you're a thrifter and you love antiques and love going to yard sales you can put together
pretty much the same kind of look for a fraction of the price. So this is how I redid our master
bedroom. My Pottery Barn magazine had this great wall of just a collage of all these fun funky old
kind of rustic looking frames and they were all from $40 to $50 a piece and no way was I going to
pay that for a little picture frame. So I collected some of these at thrift stores and also my mom
found some of these older ones here that are actually antique at yard sales. So I got a mint
colored paint and a sanding block and I let the spray painted the thing and then I let it dry and
with the sanding block I buffed it to kind of give it a more rustic looking finish and also
allowed some of the wood to kind of come through on the ornate filigree type design. And then I
also hung them. I thought this is a really fun way to kind of mix textures and things. I got lace
trims from the fabric store, satin ribbons and even got some jute raffia string over here to
hang the pictures. I thought that was a really fun and unique way to do it. So here's a close-up on
the frame so you can see what I was talking about buffing the corners and stuff and then I just found
this cute little flower and covered up the nail head with the flower. This one is just a fun piece
of scrapbooking material that I really like the design of. See this frame is a very old one and
you can see with that buffing block how I really just buffed that out and made it look even more
antique looking. Again hung with a piece of lace on the wall. So these two gorgeous pictures my mom
scored on a yard sale for 10 cents a piece. And these little photos, I'll do a zoom so you can see
how beautiful they are, are actually photos from a Victorian fashion catalog. And what I did was
I hung them with satin ribbons again and covered the nail heads with the faux flower. Here's a
close-up on the gorgeous fashion magazine. Isn't that neat? Here's the other one. The pretty seafoam
colored bedding is from Marshalls and I found it on clearance there. It's actually Cynthia Rowley
and I got it for on clearance for only $60. And it's a great summertime quilt when you don't want
a lot of heavy blankets on your bed. And it kind of reminded me of something you would find at
Anthropologie. The crochet bed skirt is from Tuesday Morning. I thought it looked really pretty and
antique looking. And then all of the pillows here, the one in the back right there with the embroidery
that's a Rachel Ashwell one. Those are the sheets that I have on my bed. Rachel Ashwell from Target
makes amazing bedding and it all kind of has an antique vintage vibe and it's very good quality.
The pillow next to it I got for only $3, again at Marshalls. And then the one next to that,
Marshalls. And then this one was actually from an estate sale and it's all hand-stitched. It's this
beautiful vintage butterfly. It was so pretty. So the beautiful nightstand next to our bed
was actually this really ugly beat up little like side table. I think I got in a free pile at a yard
sale and I love to refinish furniture. And this was one of my first shabby chic projects and my
own design that I want to like patent because I think it's so cool. So basically I did a shabby
chic type of finish with the sanding block and then I put a gel stain over the top of that and
wiped it off to kind of give it a tea stained look. The top of this, the cool design that I was
talking about, is actually glass and I went to a glass store and got this cut and you can lift it
up and change the fabric pattern. So depending on, you know, when you change your decor you can have
different kinds of patterns and fabrics and it will totally, you know, go with the change of
your new room without buying brand new furniture. The one I chose to do in here, the light blue
color kind of ties in with our bedspread and if I lift the lamp up you can see it's kind of a
French toil pattern. It's so pretty. The lamp that kind of looks like an urn is actually from
jcpennies.com. And the awesome headboard was actually an old farm door and if you guys have
been with me since the beginning I did a furniture refinishing video of all my little projects but
this was a five dollar score from Habitat for Humanity and again I did that shabby chic finish.
Someday I'll do a DIY for you so you can see how to do it because it's kind of a process but it's
easy. Yeah and I just kind of beat it up so that all of the wood grain would show through and then
my husband built this top piece kind of like a mantel. You layer different pieces of molding for
a mantel like effect and oh my goodness we probably spent $20 on this headboard and I love it.
So this is my side of the bed and I have my dresser on here around this side with all my
personal belongings and on well first of all this dresser was an auction score. I think I paid like
$12 for it and it was so ugly. It was like bright blue and had 20 layers of paint on it. I've never
spent so long on one furniture project as I did on this but it had a beautiful shape to it and I
really wanted to take it down to its natural state. So I did stain it a little bit of a darker
mahogany and I got these knobs on ebay. I put little crystal knobs on. I thought it kind of
made it a little more chic and luxurious looking. The lamp on top is art deco from the 1920s that I
scored on craigslist. The one next to it is also an art deco piece and I haven't decided where I
want to put it yet and then next to it here is this really pretty tray that I put together.
I just really love how this all turned out and kind of meshes well together. In the back I have
some fake flowers. I don't know what these ones are are called here and usually I'm anti-faux
flowers because I think they're cheesy but they make such good looking fake flowers now that it's
not so bad. But the tray area here, this silver serving platter, I don't think it's real silver
but I got this for four dollars at a local yard sale and then this crystal one here is the antique
that I got in an estate sale for only five dollars. This one here looks like mercury glass.
It looks like it's vintage but it's not. I found this at TJ Maxx for ten dollars and then this one
here my mom got for me at a yard sale for only like 50 cents. So I just love how this all came
together for a nice display all pretty much found at yard sales and thrift stores. I'll move here so
you can see but I love the top of them how they have this almost like balloon pleating type of
panel and it looks like silk but it's not. These are actually blackout curtains and I like my
bedroom like a cave when I'm sleeping. I don't want any light coming in so these are like double
lined. They're really nice and I found them at Tuesday morning and I think I paid sixty dollars
for the pair and they're really long. Normally I don't like that style but I felt like it kind of
went with our room. It kind of gives that romantic like shabby chic relaxed feel that I was going for
so yeah and I also got the tie backs. They're kind of in a brushed gold also from Tuesday morning.
If you guys are looking for like curtains and random tie backs that place has so many and it's
really cheap so you should go. Alright everyone I hope you enjoyed my bedroom tour. If you have
any questions or if you want to see some of my other rooms just go ahead and comment below and
I'll see you soon. Bye!
