Is this a cute pink eyeshadow or does it just look like I have conjunctivitis?
Summer conjunctivitis makeup tutorial coming soon.
Hey guys, welcome back to my channel, I hope you're all doing really well.
Sorry about the constant clothing content at the moment, I don't really know how this
has happened. A few weeks ago all I ever talked about was how I know nothing about clothes or
fashion and here we are. Those two sentiments are still very much true. I've just been doing
a lot of shopping recently, panic shopping mostly. As I mentioned in my last video,
if you haven't seen that I'll link it down below so you can catch up,
me and Adam recently went to the wedding of his eldest brother. And everyone knows that
weddings are pretty much the best social event of all time. There's buffets involved,
have a little bit of a cry because it's all just so beautiful, categorically the best music in
the world is played, pretty much just back to back ABBA for three hours. But I think it is also
probably fair to say that, without a doubt, the worst part of being invited to be a guest at any
wedding is trying to find something to wear. As someone who hasn't been to a wedding for a
couple of years before this one, I cannot tell you the stress that I worked myself up with
when it came to what to wear to this wedding. I think I mentioned in the last video,
I left it till the very last minute, I think because my brain was just like,
no, let's not confront this today. Let's not put ourselves through the stress and the hell
of looking at ourselves in tight strappy dresses and changing room mirrors. No thanks, not today.
And so there began my plight of trying to find something to wear to a summer wedding
as an in-betweeny kind of girl. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the constant
turnover back and forth of ASOS orders for a couple of weeks before the wedding was not okay.
Tried it all on in the comfort of my own home and then sent it all back in complete and utter
horror. I left myself with very limited options of what might actually look quite nice.
Trying to find something to wear to a wedding or an event that's a big deal, some kind of formal
graduation or something like that is no mean feat if you happen to have a body like mine.
I'm a size 14, so I'm not exactly slim. Things like super strappy, tight,
slinky little bodyguard numbers, they make me want to run for the hills real fast.
But I also then wouldn't say that I'm a plus size girl, so a lot of the shapes that kind of have
been cut for a more sort of like curvy figure don't actually come in my size. So while I was
going through the ordeal of trying on 10 million dresses in the space of about eight days,
I thought it would actually be quite handy to keep a few of the better options aside,
show you some of the dresses that I did really actually quite like, and hopefully do all the
hard work for any of you guys who might be going to a wedding this summer, and maybe show you some
options that could work for you. I've tried to include quite a large variety of different styles,
so I've got some super fancy like floor-length dresses for if you're going to a really swanky
wedding. I've got some more kind of shorter, slightly easier to wear, kind of like more
party kind of dresses for maybe a more casual friend's wedding. I've got some really dressed
down options with a jumpsuit and like a really casual, almost kind of like a day dress for if
you're not one to get all dressed up. And then last but not least, I also have what I would
consider to be like the cool option. Just, you know, because I like a cool option. So if you
are on the hunt for something to wear to a wedding this summer, I hope you will find this useful. If
you do enjoy this video then please do give it a little thumbs up. I'm hoping that it might be
quite handy to kind of see the dresses and the outfits on a body type that's not necessarily
the ASOS model of choice. I kind of show you what the same dress would look like on a size 14 girl
with thighs and a bum that are basically the size of a small planet. So first up, I'm going to
include the one that I actually ended up wearing to Adam's brother's wedding. This was a little
ASOS dress that I literally found in the depths of the sale, but I thought it'd be handy to feature
it anyway just to kind of show you the shape and the silhouette of it because I thought it actually
did quite a lot of favours for my body. I don't know. The main thing that I absolutely loved
about that dress was the off-the-shoulder silhouette to it. I feel like that is quite
a nice little part to show off, like your collarbones and your shoulders. I feel like
that's quite feminine and summery. It actually made my day because someone put in the comments
of the last video that I reminded them of Hermione going to the Yule Ball and that's the
weight of my heart right there. I just wanted to quickly include that, not that it's too helpful
because I'm pretty sure it's sold out, but just as maybe like a little bit of inspo for what
silhouettes to look out for, shapes to look out for, that kind of neckline cut to keep an eye out for.
Okay, next up, this was actually another possibility that I did really consider wearing, but in the
end I felt like my choice just kind of trumped it slightly. This is a little mini dress,
it's a very pale kind of minty pastel green colour. The main thing that I absolutely loved
about this dress was the beautiful, like seriously beautiful, like metallic embellishment that's all
over it. I thought it was so, so pretty and I'm not usually one to like a bit of sparkle. The
other part of this dress that is really stunning is the back. It's like an open back, which would
mean that you probably couldn't wear a bra with it, but I tend to go braless for these things
anyway. A lot of you asked me what strapless bra I wore with the dress that I featured last time,
I just went braless. I might be size 14 but I definitely don't have the boobs to go with it,
so. And yes, it did make me feel slightly like the fairy godmother when I was wearing it,
but why would that be a bad thing? Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo my friends. The other little mini
dress that I really, really liked, I really did have my eye on this one, kind of wish I'd kept
it now. If you can't tell by this one, I really do have a thing for that like pale blue lilac-y shade,
I just can't get enough of it. This one was a little bit different though, it had a totally
different neckline. It was quite sort of like a little bit of a plunge, which is actually one
of the reasons that I didn't wear it because, to be honest, I didn't have the boobs to fill it out.
But I think if you are slightly more blessed in that department, or you just really sort of taped
yourself in with a bit of double-sided tape, you'd be totally fine. The sleeves on it were the deal
breaker for me, I thought they were so amazing. They were this real like flutter sleeve, long
enough to wear cycling shorts underneath all of these dresses, you know me, long enough to wear
a pair of cycling shorts underneath to stop chubra ruining the day. So yeah, all in all, this was a
very strong contender for me, this dress, I absolutely loved it. I loved the fluttery crossover front,
I just wish that I'd had a little bit more time, because then I could have maybe like got it
tailored, or just like slightly taken in at the chest, just so it fitted me slightly better,
and I wouldn't be falling out all over the place, because that's not what you want to happen on
someone else's big day. Next I'm gonna chuck a slightly rogue option in here, which I feel like
maybe a lot of people wouldn't actually think about, but this is without a doubt probably the
coolest outfit that I have ever owned, and will ever own. I actually wore this to the Cosmopolitan
Influencer Awards, uh, when was that? A few months ago? Didn't win, good. So this is actually a
coloured suit, and I cannot get enough of this, I think this is such a great option for a wedding.
I opted for purple, because I thought that looked really cool, but I'm pretty sure ASOS does loads
of different colours, a little bit different, slightly kind of statement, but also very like
understated and effortless and cool. So for some reason I decided that channelling Harry Styles
and Austin Powers would be the best combo for me, but I styled it with a really kind of ruffled
frilly white shirt, with almost like a contrasting coloured shoe, and they were like bright pink
slingbacks. So just wanted to chuck this in the mix, I think this is a great option to go for if
you are a bit curvy like me, I think it looks so cool on pretty much any body shape to be honest.
Just something a little bit different, maybe a new idea that you might not have thought of,
really recommend just trying a suit on and seeing how you feel in it, because honestly,
is there anything cooler than a suit? I don't think there is. So in my quest for the wedding,
I also had a little think about maybe wearing a floor-length dress. The only thing was that I
hadn't actually worn a floor-length dress for a very long time, and when I put them on, as much
as I really loved them, and I'm going to show you two options which I really did consider,
I just felt a little bit like I was going to prom. Where's my corsage? Where's my awful teenage
boyfriend that embodies all the terrible decisions I've ever made in my life? Where's prom? You are
a little bit self-conscious about any part of your body. It's quite a good way of distracting
from that because everybody's going to be so impressed by your gorgeous, amazing gown. It's
such a special thing to wear that I feel like it will really give you a confidence boost. Even when
I was just prancing around the bedroom in these lovely dresses, I felt really confident in them.
I'm not joking or exaggerating when I say I think I might be in love with this dress. Is it possible
to marry a dress? Am I going to be one of those super weird people that goes on to, like,
this morning? And my little tagline along the bottom is, I fell in love with a formal dress.
This is actually from Coast but I bought it through ASOS, and this is a floor-length lemon
yellow. I'm hoping that the colour shows up on camera. And it features a v-neck silhouette,
two sort of slim shoulder straps, and then like a ruffle trim that goes around the tops of your
arms, which I just think is so gorgeous. I guess you could call me a frill seeker because I'm very,
very into all the, like, elegant ruffly frills that are all over this. I kind of bought it
thinking that it would look absolutely hideous on me and almost partly just as a bit of a laugh
to see what it looked like. I was so surprised. I literally felt like Belle from Beauty and the
Beast when she wears the yellow dress, but I felt like curves had been taken into consideration.
I felt like the ruffles were in all the right places to add a little bit of shape and detail
to the places that you want to attract attention to and take away from the places that you don't
want attention on. I would just like to put up a plea out to you guys. If you are going to a wedding
or some kind of fancy occasion, please consider this lovely dress. It's so amazing. And now I've
finished spilling my true love for the yellow dress, and the other one that I really liked as
well was this floor-length blue dress. This was another kind of cold shoulder kind of shape, and
I personally have not figured out how you would handle the bra scenario for this. I think maybe
you'd have to go for some of those weird little nipple stickers. But the silhouette of this one
was so flattering, and I feel like I keep saying the word elegant, but I guess for a wedding,
that's something you want to be. That's a thing you want to be, right? Felt very sophisticated
and glamorous in this one, which is a rare feeling in my life, not gonna lie. But I actually think
the standout bit of this dress is the back of it. I think ASOS call it a cowl back. I mean,
what does that even mean? I've got no idea. And last but not least, I have two slightly more
casual options. First of all was something a little bit different in the form of a jumpsuit.
I did actually really have a look into jumpsuits because I love the idea of wearing one to a
wedding with like a nice pair of heels. I liked how minimal it was, very easy to wear. I liked
the wide leg shape of it, made it kind of like really light and airy to wear on a hot day. It
didn't quite fit me right, which is the only reason I sent it back. I would have kept it for like a
rainy day otherwise, but everyone's body type is different, so you might find that it fits you
perfectly. And I just thought this was like a great easy option to be honest, like find a jumpsuit,
bish bash bosh, done and dusted. Jumpsuits are a great option. And last but not least,
I'm just going to give a little shout out to this little red dress that I came across,
the LRD. Is that a thing? I feel like it should be. I have actually kept this to one side because
even though it wasn't right for the wedding that we were going to, I will definitely wear this for
something else because I think this dress is the bomb. Again, it's that flattering v-neck shape.
It had almost like slight kind of like ruched detailing, like to like cup the shape of your
boobs, which I got out of the packet and thought that's a disaster waiting to happen. But then
when I actually put it on, I thought it looked quite nice. I thought it fitted me really well
and my favourite bit about it was like the flared short sleeves. I thought they were awesome and I
just thought it was a great little kind of classic but also quite modern slash maybe a little bit
60s inspired. And I think, unless I've missed any out, which I probably have and I'll be super
annoyed when I come to edit this video, but I think that's all the options that I kept to one
side to show you. They were the best of the bunch. If you have watched this for some inspiration,
good luck on your quest. I salute you. You will find something, I promise, but I fully relate if
there's tears along the way because, let's be honest, finding outfits is very stressful and
you're not very body confident. I really hope you found this video a little bit helpful, even if
they're not the specific outfits that you might want to wear to a wedding. Hopefully it might
have given you a little bit of inspiration for like shapes and silhouettes, maybe colours to keep
an eye out for when you're doing your own shopping. As always, my favourite part about
making these videos is chatting to you guys in the comments afterwards. So come and let me know
which was your favourite outfit that I showed in this video. Have you got a wedding coming up and
you're super stressing out about what to wear? Because I relate. The best advice that I can
possibly give you if you are freaking out is A. Remember that it's actually not that big a deal
because it's not your wedding. No one's really going to be looking at anyone other than the
bride and groom. So that's quite a nice thing to think, really, while you're trying to find a
wedding outfit. Like, don't put too much stress and effort into it because it's not your wedding.
Slightly more practical advice, I would say try on things that you might not think would look
amazing and you might be quite surprised. If you did enjoy this video then please do give it a
little thumbs up, I would really appreciate it. And don't forget to hit that subscribe button
